A Kid's Review
This review is from: A Mother's Joy (Holiday Regency Romance) (Paperback)
I read A Mother's Joy which is a really good collection of short Regency Romance stories from different authors. Lord Chartley's Lesson is a story by Jo Ann Ferguson. Randall Montgomery, Lord Chartley is a man who is set in his ways and lives what he calls an orderly life and when he finds out that he has to share guardianship of his six year old ward with a vivacious young woman named Lily Armstrong he is not happy about it at all but the sweet Lily teaches Lord Chartley a lesson about love and life and this in my opinion is the best story in this book. The Dower House which is written by Carola Dunne is the second best story in this book. When Sir Gideon March moves to his new home he and his cousin Harry Talgarth find love with the widowed Lady Catriona and her widowed daughter Letty who has two young rambunctious chidren. The Present by Cindy Holbrook is also a nice story and is about three orphaned children who want Alex Tremaine The Ninth Duke of Trenton to marry their older sister Shannon and when the children set a trap and capture him he mistakenly believes that Shannon put them up to it even though she had no idea of their plans but will Alex and Shannon realize that they just may be right for each other? A Change of Heart by Lynn Kerstan is about a pregnant woman named Elaine who is having mood swings and seems to always be angry with her bewildered husband Phlip and this story is kind of rushed. Christening Day by Joy Reed is about Elizabeth who has recently had a baby and she has regained her figure but she fears that her husband no longer desires her and she accuses him of being unfaithful. The Betting Affair by Marissa Edwards is about Lord Gordon Massey and his bride Jessica and how their plan to show the ton that they are the the most perfect loving husband hits a snag when they get into a heated argument and Jessica calls him an insensitive cad and he calls her an unbearable shrew and then the members of the ton make bets with each other on if Gordon's and Jessica's marriage will make it or not make it.
