I saw the actual play and fell in love with the story! Everyone can relate to the struggles this family encounters. The singing is unbelievable (thank you Johnny Gill and Shirley Murdock) and the humor is sure to brighten your day. This play will open up your eyes and heart, and re-teach you some life lessons you've may have lost.

Great cast! It's crazy to see Jermaine Crawford aka "Dukie" (from the Wire) all grown! The kid is a great actor and I'm looking forward to see more from him. Johnny Gill - Still sounds great! Great to see him again. The play itself was pretty good. The acting, singing, and underlying theme were strong. I would love to see this play in person with this same cast. Where they do that at?

This film is very inspirational. Touched me how it focuses on a mother's love. Its not like the typical T Perry stage play in that it doesnt give every little detail away(which usually to me gets boring and makes films too long). I highly recommend for anyone who like good theatre and music. I think it could also be a great Mother's Day gift. Im getting my mom one.

I was drawn to this DVD because of Johnny Gill and Jermaine Crawford (very curious about his role since i last seen him on The Wire) but I have to admit Shirley Murdock stole the show for me! To be honest I didn't really know who Shirley Murdock was but maaaaaaaaan that woman can sing! If you don't know, now you know!

this is a very good play, i do reccomend it to others. i have watched this a few times will show it again over the holiday

The message is powerful. However, the actors did not portray the story well at all. I was dissapointed and wish I could return it.

This was so bad, the actors were not, just the plot and the way they went about it. Sorry, I would not recommend this play to anyone.

REALLY?... I mean REALLY?I wasted my money on buying this DVD. I want my time back. I want my money back. The concept could have been good, but was put together in the worst way. There were no good transitions. This is the first stage play that I have watched that I knew with all my heart, that it was just all wrong. You had a young guy playing and old man, and a woman (clearly in her 20s)playing a little girl. If they had age appropriate characters, this could have helped what ultimately was... A HOT MESS. But hey this was only my opinion.

This play has a little of everything in it (laughter, sadness, reality) and of course great singing. If you are a Christian and have children, I would definitely recommend that you to watch this DVD.

The play was okay. I lost interest in some parts. It ended well but wasn't great. "When the light goes off" was better.
