I have been using this cream since two weeks ago, at the recommendation of my mother-in-law. Already, I can feel a difference in my skin. My skin feels smoother, less itchy, and (oddly) cooler. I haven't developed any new stretch marks in spots that were itchy before I used the cream; I'm hoping this is the effects!
There were a few things I absolutely loved from this cream, right from the first application. One is the texture. I had expected this to be a watery, almost sunscreen-like lotion. Instead, it's like a combination of rich cold cream and a waxy balm. It actually requires warming between your palms to apply properly. It absorbs quickly, but feels like it continues to work for a few hours due to the waxiness. The second reason I love this cream is the smell. Looking at my options at maternity stores, I had a final choice between shea butter and cocoa butter for my stretch mark creams. For me, that means smelling like sweet cream/butter, or a chocolate bar all day long. No thanks. This one smells slightly like baby powder, noticeable but not overpowering. As for the supposed ability to prevent stretchmarks, I'm a believer. It prevents itchiness, and that tight, dry feeling my stomach and breasts had is gone now. I haven't seen any new stretchmarks and the ones I have are able to heal comfortably. Overall, I highly recommend this product, and I will be buying this for my friends when they become mothers.

The Best - Period.,

This review is from: Mothers friend body skin cream - 4 oz (Health and Beauty)
My mother used it while pregnant with my brother in 76. Again with me in 82. I used with all 3 of my own in '00, 03, and 05. Neither of us have any stretch marks. The cream is lightweight, not greasy. The smell isn't offensive, either. Which we all know is utterly crucial when pregnancy can make even our favorite glade plug-ins wreak havoc on our gag reflexes! You cannot find this on store shelves - or at least I never did. But if you're not able to order online, or would prefer not - the pharmacist can order it for you directly. Trust me, this is simply the BEST there is! Hands Down.

nothing compares,

I have had three babies and nothing compares to the Mothers Friend cream. I used it with my first pregnancy and didn't get a single stretch mark! I used it half of my next pregnancy and didn't get any until I ran out and didn't get anymore. I was so upset that I didn't continue using it throughout the pregnancy. I now have some stretch marks on my belly because of it. So I am constantly telling women I know about this product, it's the best. I tried the cocoa butter and other pregnancy creams and got stretch marks with all of them. Only mothers friend kept my skin smooth and beautiful.
