5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT!
I purchased this for my first pregnancy and it was so awesome! I loved being informed everyday on new things and how the baby actually looked at that time in my belly!!! I would use it again for the 2nd! 5 stars!

2.0 out of 5 stars Very basic, simple info. For the person who has never researched at all or has money to burn.

I kept seeing great reviews for this and thinking "Well, the demo doesn't look like much, but based on these reviews I must be missing something."

That, along with the general excitement of pregnancy, caused me to finally get it.

The demo is pretty much all it is.

A simple, cartoon-ish fetus -- that, based on the "future" info of what the baby would like like -- only changes every couple weeks or so.

Some trivia that you can find anywhere on the net is given every day ("the fetus can now suck it's thumb"). And that is it.

Based on the package info I expected different, detailed info and (at minimum) more realistic (and frequently changing) fetal images.

All in all, this is for the person who has never read even a passing chapter of a "What to expect" book, and who has never looked up any fetus pictures anywhere.

Very simple and childish.

In fact, give it to your other kids. It would be good for them, perhaps.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Unique Gift for Moms-to-Be, May 28, 2004

ExpectantSee is the perfect gift for any expectant mother and family. It allows the viewers to literally "see" the growth and develpment of their baby in utero from conception to birth on a day-by-day basis and provides important information about this miraculous process. Whereas many popular pregnancy books have provided this type of information in print, it has never before been available in the form of a dynamic screensaver, personalized in conjunction with the baby's approaching due date.

2.0 out of 5 stars There is a reason that this is not Shareware..., March 31, 2007
This review is from: ExpectantSee: Your Pregnancy Timeline (CD-ROM)
If this were a shareware application, you would install the "screensaver" and then delete it once viewed and never pay for it.

Me: The pregnancy-knowledge-free husband.

I didn't just buy one, I bought 3 copies. I bought one for work, one for my laptop and one for my wife's laptop. You HAVE to register the software to install it (Otherwise you would just delete it - I guess they know that). I installed mine at work. I then installed mine on my laptop at home. Then, as my wonderful wife attempts to install it, the application says that I have exceeded my number of licenses. I had to write support and have them "correct" it (it is also a third-party).

Ok... This is not a screensaver. If you run it on your computer and leave the monitor on, you have a chance of burning the image on your screen! This is if you are not using an LCD monitor and using a regular monitor (CRT). The outer border is one color and never changes unless you change it. The background and title text is static and never changes. The object (baby) doesn't really move that far or fast and since it is the same color throughout, it will not change the color on certain pixels for some time and therefore burn it. No major worries but just know that it has the possibility of messing up your hardware. Just imagine this on your monitor for nine months.

The date is at times not accurate. My wife and I were on the couch with our laptops looking at the application. It was approximately 8PM-10PM Central Standard Time (Texas-USA). Her calendar on the application said that it was the following day. Mine did not. Then she and I restarted and it reversed - mine was wrong and hers was right. In that timeframe, we both saw that the "baby" changed states (and did not coincide with the date problem) back and forth from one level to another.

We have looked at it for about a week and I am ready to uninstall it. I have viewed all of the screens and I think that my fun is gone. If you think that a week of renting this software for about $20 is worth it, go for it! It should be freeware. I still would not leave it on my machine for 9 months.

I wish ExpectantSee had been available when I was pregnant with my first child. What a great way to "see" what is happening from day to day-- not only for expectant mothers, but for expectant fathers and siblings as well!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's Better than Going On-Line, May 31, 2004

This screen saver is really great. It's similiar to those pregnancy calendars that you see on-line, but without all the hassle and advertisements. ExpectantSee really made my pregnancy more enjoyable because I could just SEE my baby...as if she were really on the screen. It provides helpful information, too, so I've given it as a gift to all of my expecting friends. We all love it!
