5.0 out of 5 stars #1 motion graphic design book December 8, 2008
Format:Paperback
I got almost every book you can find when you search "motion graphics" words in amazon.com
This is the book which really tells what the hell motion graphic design is. I teach motion graphics and visual effects at Maltepe University/Istanbul. I already recommended to my students and do recommend to all students or professionals from all over the world. This is not an After Effects Course but number 1 motion graphic design source to take the job serious.

2.0 out of 5 stars The Kindle Edition February 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
The content of the book is solid enough. By learning of its early history, present trends and everything in between, the reader ends up with a solid understanding of what exactly "motion graphic design" is and what makes a good piece of work in the field. In that regard, this is a very good book.

However, and this applies only to the Kindle edition as far as I can tell, there are many, many typographical errors in the text. It feels as though the book was run through a scanner and a computer mindlessly processed everything. It makes reading the thing rather painful, as you constantly have to pause to figure out that "tide" is actually "title," for example, and what "Due to the intraducbon of drgr ed rodeo recorders and sentes such as Trbto and On demand" means. Add to that the fact that there is no active table of contents and no clear way to find a link to download the content that is supposed to be on the DVD (I had to contact support for this) and you end up with an unacceptable eBook version.

When the publisher sets a list price equal to that of the paperback edition, you simply have to expect better... I would advise potential readers to go for the printed edition unless something is done about it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Motion Graphics All-Star January 15, 2009
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is fantastic! As soon as I opened it I was impressed as the whole thing is in full-color, and when you are dealing with motion graphics it makes a huge difference in comprehension of your communication. The theories and ideas put forth in this book are essential, and the fact that they are based on REAL television/film projects only makes them that much more effective.

I highly recommend this book for anyone with even a passing intrest in motion graphics. It's not a 'follow along' book, but gives you the fundamental ideas on what makes motion graphics engaging.
