I've had this helmet lock for about a month on my 2009 R6. I attached it to the left side passenger foot peg mount. I wasn't sure about where to mount it so I bought two bolts with normal heads (allowing me to back them out if I didn't like the location). I recommend doing this first and trying out the location until you find one where you're comfortable keeping it permanent. Do not use the supplied bolts until you are sure you like the location because it will be very hard to remove them.
The unit is of average quality but for the price it's pretty good. I attached the helmet lock key onto my keychain with my motorcycle key (so there are two keys on the keychain now). I checked the bolts after every other ride to ensure they didn't back out or get loose; so far, they stayed put. I really wish that upon turning the key, the helmet holder bar would just pop out (via spring load); as is, you have to move it. This kind of feature would probably boost the price of this unit by maybe $10. I also wish that upon pushing the bar in to lock, it would lock by itself (without me having to turn the key); again, this would've made the unit more expensive. I've just adapted by keeping the key turned until I push the bar in and then turn the key to lock. In summary, this is a great addition to any bike that doesn't have an easy on/off helmet lock. I find that manufacturers cheap out by making you use cables and pull off your seat, etc. It's doable and perhaps more secure but a major pain in the rear. I would buy this unit again but would be willing to pay say another $10 for the features I mentioned above.

This worked perfectly on my 2006 Yamaha FZ6. I was able to locate it in the middle of my handlebars. Installing the lock couldn't have been much easier either. It works great for securing the helmet when at my destination.

If you have a crotch-rocket with narrow handle-bars, there's no place to put these. The diameter of the clamp is way too small to fit anywhere else (like the arms that hold the passenger foot-pegs in place) and the screws are so short that you have no option of putting it anywhere other than the handle-bars. This is a waste of money and a totally useless product.
