5.0 out of 5 stars Daily Dose of Investment Advice Makes Calendar A Winner!
A good friend of mine once said that the best way to eat an elephant would be one bite at a time. That is the only way I understand the investment world. The Gardners are wizards with planning and investing, but this calendar isn't up to their usual quality. I'm not going to hang this in my den, where it could be of _some_ use to me, simply because it's not really visually pleasing, or provide enough helpful advice. Purchase their books, leave the calendar alone.

A good friend of mine once said that the best way to eat an elephant would be one bite at a time. That is the only way I understand the investment world. This calendar is for the rest of us, a daily dose of investment advice put into simple plain words that can be understood by all. I have most of the Motley Fool Books, listen to Fool Radio, and visit the Fool Web Site on a regular basis. This calendar is a fresh addition to the other Fool Resources, and is simply not a rehash of topics covered earlier. Being that this is a calendar, it is geared toward money matters or important events that take place during the year. One good example of this is the tax information given in March calendar pages. Also, while some page-a-day calendars simply list holidays, the Fools either shed some humor or historical informtion about them. I look forward to this calendar each and every day, to either learn something new or have something to smile about. Another bonus worth mentioning is that the back of each page is lined, which makes it very easy to write notes. Again, I highly recommend this book. Would you believe it was a gift from my mother-in-law?

1.0 out of 5 stars I Expected More, November 10, 1998
By A Customer

First of all, this review is on the calendar NOT the book as in the previous two reviews which are posted on the wrong site. This calendar is printed on the cheapest paper I've ever seen used for this purpose. It's practically newprint. I thought that the calendar would give important dates which would pertain to the stock market and investing. Perhaps, when earnings reports are due, when the market is closed, fed. meetings, elections, etc. Instead, it is very simplistic and only offers small tidbits of advice that are sometimes quaint, but overall, not very informative.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent resource! A fun way to plunge into investing!, July 23, 1998

I am only halfway finished with your book but I felt compelled to write a review of what I have read so far. Your straightforward explanations and witty commentary have made your book a "can't-put-it-down" experience for me. I have been tracking some companies on an informal basis for some time, but now I feel more confident than ever about putting my money where my research is and investing on my own. Great job!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book even for those who have never invested., July 18, 1998
This review is from: Cal 99 Motley Fool Investment Guide Calendar (Calendar)
This book inspired me to think about investing as someything that I could do. I was so inspired by reading this book that I immediately opened up a discount brokerage account and am now investing using what I learned from this book.
