Designed for bike riders who'd like to both get around town and hit the trails, the e-Moto Ridge 1.0 has a 250-watt brushless hub motor to help you up the steep inclines and that allows you to travel at up to 16 miles per hour with ease. Running on a 26-volt battery pack, the Ridge 1.0 motor has a travel range of up to 25 miles per battery charge and releases no harmful emissions into the atmosphere as you ride. Thanks to a built-in sensor, using the pedal-assist motor is easy--the sensor detects how hard you are pedaling and instantly provides electric power to match your efforts. When you stop pedaling the power to the wheel is interrupted so that you are always in total control of the bike.

Featuring a lightweight and strong aluminum frame with front and rear suspension to absorb the bumps of road and trail, and equipped with high-quality components including Tektro brakes, Shimano derailleurs, and puncture-resistant Kenda Tires, the Ridge 1.0 is a pleasure to ride. E-Moto Brushless Hub Motor with Variable Pedal Assist Controller (VPAC)
Weighing just over 7-pounds, the hub motor installed on all e-Moto electric bikes is rated at a continuous output of 250-watts. The motor is sealed and has no internal wearing parts allowing for the ultimate in weatherproof, maintenance free operation. The VPAC (Variable Pedal Assist Controller) multi-speed controller uses an input signal from the bike's torque sensor to provide the power to the motor. The latest generation of VPAC controller offers 2 rider-selectable speeds of assist from the bike's dashboard. The low-speed controller setting limits the assist to 10-miles per hour or below--which helps your get up to speed quickly, and keeps lots of power in reserve for hill climbing, all while giving the rider a greater aerobic workout at cruising speed. The high setting provides full 15-mile per hour pedal assistance.

I got this bike to make the 'to work' 6 mile uphill commute more doable and it is preforming very nicely. The net elevation gain is 600 ft, but with a mix of up and down hills, I think the the uphill portion is around 800+ ft gain total. This bikes makes it doable and I still get a great workout. Going home is very fun, since it is like riding a slow motorcycle. It handles the flats as if you were going downhill and the small hills are like flats. For the steep hills, it shaves off 30% of the work. I weigh 215 and go 12 miles (half very steep uphills with 3 miles of total climbing) on one charge and it is not completely empty when I get home. The indicator on the handle bars says E, but it still gives a good push. I tried to completely drain the battery and lost interest after an additional 3 miles after work. So range for someone my size is at least 15 miles with many hills and probably 25 miles on gentler roads. I have had the bike for almost 2 months with out incident. I ride about 40 miles a week.
