Editorial Reviews

Review

Racer X Illustrated, October 2006

“For anyone who’s trying to learn more about the sport, this full-color, glossy book may be the best place to start … its compact size really sets it apart from most other coffee-table-style motocross books that have come out in recent years.

“Niche books like this are often riddled with errors and typos, but Motocross is professionally done from beginning to end. Kudos to editor Lee Klancher and designer LeAnn Kuhlman for keeping it so clean and easy to read.

“The photography ... makes this a worthwhile addition to every moto library. It’s also a perfect gift to give somebody who’s getting into the sport, or somebody you’re trying to get into the sport.”

Stunning photography, obvious insider putting this together - my husband is a loyal motocross fan and remarked immediately upon seeing the photographer's name. Well done.

4.0 out of 5 stars Print versus DVD, August 7, 2006

This review is from: Motocross (Gallery) (Paperback)
The photographers included in this book are the best in the business and some of the images are truly fantastic. I doubt many gen-x-ers will buy this book and appreciate the talent and effort that goes into capturing a still image when they can go out and buy a Travis Pastrana DVD with someone jumping off the grand canyon, but such is the age we live in. Not a knock, just a recognition of the difference between print and video, and who is likely to enjoy which.

For those who appreciate motocross as it was in the 70's and 80's and appreciate outdoor tracks more than supercross, I give this five stars. For X-games fans, I give it only three. Therefore, an overall four star rating.

For the price, you can hardly go wrong.
