Customer Reviews

I live near a river and some woods and as a result mice and even rats are abundant.

I think they work great, they are safe to use around kids and pets..the mouse has to go into the container to eat the poison..
Angelica D. Peaslee
This is supposed to be a safe way of putting out rat poison so kids or pets won't get into it.

Tomcat disposable rat bait station is a great product. I have used three of these and have had great success. 1. Be sure to seal up your house before baiting outside to ensure they don't crawl inside and die. 2. Find a good hiding place for these and place them in a rat's path of travel next to a wall. 3. Leave the area alone for a while and let the rat become accustomed to the new product.

My first box sat for a couple weeks before they started eating. This was about one year ago. I have now had rats eat all the bait in three of these boxes, and have found three dead rats in the yard. I'm sure there are many more rats dead elsewhere that haven't been found. The last bait box had marks from the rats trying to eat their way into the box. The product works. It is perfect for the homeowner who doesn't want to mess with loading a bait box. Just set it out and wait until the bait is gone, then toss it in the garbage. It's that easy.

This saved me hundreds of dollars form calling a pest control professional and stopped the rats from boring holes in my lawn. It also gives me a piece of mind that the rat population is decreasing in the neighborhood.

Safer way to reduce population of mice, rats etc.... I wrote this review because of the negative reviews by people who do not know the difference between a BAIT STATION and a trap....one reviewer wrote "how are we supposed to know the target pest doesn't immediately drop dead....simple answer....look at active ingredient.

I share my desert home with 4 dogs, and with a host of nearby packrats and mice. These traps, once placed for a few days to a week in an area travelled by rodents, get their bait nibbled on. Since I started using the stations, the number of rats that the dogs catch is down by over 80%. I didn't have great luck with glue traps and humane traps (a pain to set them out nightly, then pull them up before daylight when curious birds and lizards often enter). Haven't seen any birds or lizards interested in the stations. Another plus: my dogs aren't interested in them either, although I do place them out of the dogs' access. The one downfall of the station is that very large rats don't seem to be able to enter and consume bait. However, smaller and young rats do enter, and as a result, the local packrat population is down to one big old guy that I call "granddad," instead of a few families. I do have to replace the stations every couple of months as new rodents decide to move into my garden from the desert.

I purchased these for work this past winter with some of the snap traps because it was a pretty cold/bad winter and I was anticipating some mice or rats. I was right, we have never had rodents like we did this past year because of the cold. But this really helped once we actually set them out. We found more poisoned mice outside and around the building than we caught in the traps. Going to keep these outside (with a piece of wood and brick on them to keep the rain out) to help further prevent the mice from coming inside. Works great and seems much more humane than the snap traps!

This is a pretty well designed product. The pre-loaded bait may last you a while and get every rodent you are having trouble with if you're lucky. Having the bait sealed behind a small maze should keep pets and kids safe. The advantage of this type of rodent-killer is that one rat could conceivably take it back to its family, and you don't have to reset it after each kill. The bad part is that the rat can then die anywhere, and you don't want them dying behind walls. Great product, but pick the right product for your needs.

We have had a couple mice take up residence in our home unfortunately. They were flipping over our traps and taking the bait without taking the punishment which wasn't working towards ridding us of our problem. I wasn't sure what to expect from these bait stations but was hoping the mice would be interested enough to wander in there and eat the bait. Sure enough, the first night they went for the bait station over the peanut butter trap. They ate about a sixth of the brick the first night, more the next night, and again for a few nights beyond that. I have no idea if it was the same mouse or multiple mice, but bottom line is- we have no more signs of mice and nothing is going for the bait anymore. I assume they made their way out of the house and died, because we have not found any signs or smells of dead mice inside the house. I really don't much care how it works, only that it works! I will be keeping these on hand.

The larger rat size station is perfect for outside the house to get them before they even make it inside.

I had a rat living under my deck that would come out and birdseed. I was hesitant to set a trap or put poison out that other critters might get into, including my wiener dog. This product worked really well. I set it out and in one day, the rat nibbled the bait and hasn't been seen since. His hole has leaves over it so clearly he isn't going in and out now.

I would recommend securing somewhere if you have strong winds as this is a lightweight product and the wind blew it clear across the deck one day. At least the bait did not fall out or even move -- it seems to be a well manufactured product. I'd buy it again if I have any other unwanted critters hanging out.
