Throughout history, individuals have been playing with the delicate balance between polarities. Often, the combination of two opposites makes for a harmony previously unknown, a sum greater than its parts. Motopony is the embodiment of this notion – a band built on a bedrock of contrasts and the gorgeous alchemy of seemingly conflicted sounds, and the feelings mapped over them. Guided ... Editorial Reviews

Motopony is no longer Seattle s best kept secret. Even the Seattle Weekly acknowledged that their propulsive R&B-meets-folk-rock was bound to make its way to a larger audience before long. This four piece group has quickly risen through the Seattle music scene, receiving praise from KEXP while Tacoma s Volcano Weekly named them Tacoma s Best New Band.
These local accolades quickly caught the attention of Loa Angeles influential KCRW, who couldn t even wait for mastered music to start playing some tracks on air. also recently premiered the album track Wait For Me and received a warm response from its listeners.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this Album June 12, 2011
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
I'm a bit obsessive when I find a song or album I love. I've been listening to this over and over and over after hearing them on NPR's All Songs Considered. It's a classic. I had no idea it was from 2009, but even in 2011 its awesome.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Pony You'll Ride Alot July 10, 2011
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Found out about this group from NPR review of Sasquatch Music Festival. I will probably need to replace this cd as I am going to wear it out from playing it so much. Great variety of upbeat and ballad type music, and neat lyrics. Has some Wilco flavors to it, but really impresses on its own. This would appeal to broad age group as I have played if for my 19 and 21 year old nephews, and they loved it, and I am in my early fifties This is Motopony's first CD if I understand right, and I hope there are many more to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite new album of 2011 May 28, 2011
By Tom G.
Format:Audio CD
The media buzz that is building around this Seattle band is definitely justified. This album is a gem from the first track "June" through the closer "Euphoria." Motopony are talented enough - and brave enough - to deliver several musical styles and tempos without making the album feel lost or disjointed. "King of Diamonds" is a feel-good 3 minute folk-pop masterpiece. "Seer" - another standout - is possessed by a multi-layer fire in both the lyrics and the rhythms - ending with a flourish of guitars. Musically, this album may remind some of Postal Service, Fleet Foxes, Iron and Wine, and other alterna-folk from the Pacific Northwest. The spirt though lies in the mysticism of the Doors making Motopony something that is truly unique and worth an extended listen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Amazing November 26, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
This album is a true album. It transitions and flows from beginning to end. This has been in top rotation for a long time now and I am beyond happy with this album. I am certain it is solid enough to not get lost or forgotten over time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Looking forward to the next one January 16, 2013

Don't remember how I discovered this, but I'm so glad I did. Probably heard King of Diamonds at the end of the Hung series on HBO. That's just the start of the pleasures on this album. Mellow, romantic, intimate. Fun and funny. More of Motopony, please.
