Key Advantages of Wireless Series Motors

  • Wireless Freedom is what MotorGuide's exclusive high-frequency Wireless Foot Pedal is all about. An easy-to-use, highly functional foot-control device, the pedal features on/off, right/left, and fast/slow wireless motor commands, making it a cinch to master motor control. Simple, fast, and precise boat positioning from anywhere on the deck.
  • Optional Wireless Handheld Remote gives precise command of the Digital Wireless motor from anywhere on the boat via the high-frequency signal. Whether speed trolling or simply going for a quiet troll while eating lunch, the remote is simple and fun to use.
  • Quick-Release Mounting Plate makes installation fast and simple. Constructed of rugged extruded aluminum, the mounting plate locks in place to form a solid connection, and uses a common hold pattern. This enables stowing the motor in vehicle during transport to avoid rough road wear and tear and quick transfer to a secure location while on the boat.
  • Optional Snap-on Wireless Mounting Plate Cover easily snaps into place to clean up the deck when swimming or boating.
  • Cradle Lock Mount is exclusive to MotorGuide's Wireless Series, and is designed to stand up to the pounding of rough-water runs. The patent-pending Cradle Lock comes standard with a quick-release, lockable mounting plate that fits virtually any boat.
  • Oversized Brushes last longer and increase battery life for optimum trolling time at every level. Remarkably quiet, they deliver superior performance at all thrust levels and are extremely efficient.
  • Built-in Battery Indicator includes four levels of charge data to maximize fishing time.
  • Pontoon Friendly design features a small footprint mount that is removable and lockable.
  • Deep-V Trolling capability has you covered in open water fishing situations. The small, 6.5-by-11-inch (W x H) removable mounting plate makes it easy to install the plate and mount the motor, and the solid connection is ideal for rough water.

As the subject line says... The wireless foot pedal does not work well in the back of the boat. (range issue) I purchased the new trolling motor so I could offer the prime fishing spot to my fishing guests. My wireless key fob works slightly better in back. I had the motor and pedal checked at my local Motorguide service center. One foot pedal and control module later... no real improvement. On the positive side, the new unit draws far less current than my original trolling motor. The Motorguide is very similar to Min Kota's model. They chose to sell their model without a wireless foot pedal. I know why. I'm sure they both use the same control modules...etc. Motorguide trolling motors are less expensive. With either brand, you will have to purchase the wireless control separate. MinKota comes with a wired pedal with a long cable. Motorguide comes with a wireless foot pedal. I hope that this is helpful.

After my first use I'm not impressed with the wireless foot control. The controller is unresponsive at times, and more unresponsive to the left than to the right. When it does decide to work it over steers one way or the other. Very annoying...this was while slow trolling in the middle of a lake. I would not trust it for bass fishing near obstacles. The motor itself is powerful and battery draw seems to be reasonable. I Purchased a hand held remote but havn't used it yet. I've read they work better than the foot control, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I've read bad things about minnkota wireless as well. Can't recommend this one, that's for sure. Update.....the hand held remote works great, it has turned what I thought was an expensive mistake into a motor I can definitely live with.

I own a 75lb wireless motorguide. The foot pedal works occasionally, but I have to put a new CR2032 battery in it about every other time out to get it to work. Oftentimes it goes into a high speed spin of turning the motor to the left or right and I have to pull the power plug to get it to stop. From then on, it goes into a high speed spin every time I plug it in, until I take the battery out of the foot pedal. Some times when I replace the battery, it works okay for awhile; other times it automatically goes into a high speed spin of turning the motor again. I bought the key fob and it has worked perfect since I have been using it (over a year). I don't know if buying a replacement foot pedal will solve the problem and hate to spend $100 if it is something else.

did not have all the fasteners needed. the prop fastener was missing - the bolts needed to bolt the base plate to the bolt were not correct - the nut went on about 1 inch then locked up. I am a mechanic and this issue comes up when using overseas fasteners. I still have not been able to determine the prop thread.

I've had it out twice and it works great, just hope it continues to do so. That is the only thing that concerns me about the item.
