About the Author

David H. Jacobs, Jr. is the former owner of an automotive detail shop. He has also written a number of books about auto detailing, body repair, painting, and general maintenance. Rather than rely on his own experience, he prefers to interview experts and experienced aficionados over lunch and write about those things that have worked best for them.

As teenagers, he and his buddies started out riding Honda 50s that they rented from a local motorcycle shop. The riding fever grabbed them right off the bat and soon, they graduated to their own Honda 305 Scramblers for the street and stripped-down for the dirt.

As the times changed, so did the bikes. But the passion for riding and keeping bikes looking their best will never go away.

This book is all about getting your bike, whatever make, the best looking possible.
Although a lot of methods described might be common sense to you, still I found a couple of useful hints and tips how to clean or polish a specific part of my bike.
You really got to be into detailing and getting your bike into concours-state to be able to use all contents of the book.
Also cleaning and care of your clothes and helmet is discussed.
Most products described are US-oriented, but when you look through the product names and extract the methods to to a specific job, you can find similar products outside the US of A.

For this price, a nice and usefull book.

Now stop reading and go polish your bike!

It will teach you to detail like a pro. It gives a lot of tips and ideas. It doesn't cover some of the newer cleaning products, but it hits the major brands. It offers good advice and common sense, which sometimes is not so common. It goes over washing every inch of your bike and then polishing, waxhing, and so on. If you want to really clean your bike, then this is the book for you.
