Book Description

Stuck in a colorless world, Tyra Masters decides to chuck her old life and starts searching for something. She doesn’t know what it is until she meets her dream man. The goateed, tattooed, muscled, gravelly voiced motorcycle man who plies her with tequila and gives her the best sex of her life. But she knows it isn’t the tequila and sex talking. He’s it. He’s who she’s been daydreaming about since she could remember.

Until he makes it clear she isn’t who he’s looking for.

Tyra slinks away from his bed, humiliated. The problem is, he’s her new boss. She just may or may not have forgotten to tell him that part.

Kane “Tack” Allen has a rule. He doesn’t employ someone he’s slept with. And he lets Tyra know that in his motorcycle man way. Tyra fights for her job and wins it using sass and a technicality. Tack challenges her that if she hits his bed one more time, she loses her job.

Tyra is determined to keep her job and keep away from Tack. But she makes a big mistake. During their head-to-heads, she lets it all hang out and shows Tack she is who he’s looking for. And Tack has had a good woman slip through his fingers, he’s not about to let that happen again.

Although Tack colors Tyra’s world with a vibrancy that’s blinding, being with him means she has to live in his Motorcycle Club world. Full on, no holds barred. And since Tack’s world, not to mention Tack, is a little scary, Tyra isn’t so sure.

It's Tack's job to convince her.

"There is something about them [Ashley's books] that I find crackalicious." (DearAuthor.com Kati Brown 2012)

"I felt all of the rushes, the adrenaline surges, the anger spikes... my heart pumping in fury. My eyes tearing up when her my heart (I mean... her heart) would break." (On Motorcycle Man) (Maryse.net Maryse's Book Blog 2012)

About the Author

Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana, and has lived in Denver, Colorado, and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multigenerational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland, and Kristen grew up listening to the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Whitesnake.

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

The strongest and my favorite of the Dream Man series.

The weaknesses that plague the writing and editing of this author continue in this book. I won't go into detail since I have in my reviews of the earlier three books.

However the thing that puts this book over the top is that never, not once, was I unconvinced of the romance and connection of Tack and Tyra. As a matter of fact, the exact opposite was true. I was totally convinced by them every time I turned the page. And it was all there on the page all the time.

There was some great internal conflict between them. Tack and Tyra meet at a barbecue, drink lots of tequila and have sex. To him she's just a girl he picked up and had sex with. Women like that are put in a certain category so he put her in it. To Tyra, she had just met the man of her dreams. Their differing interpretations of that night get tested right away since Tyra realizes he's her boss at the new job she is just starting the next day. Needless to day they have words. This being a Kristen Ashley book and Tack being a biker in a motorcycle club, those words are not gentle. In fact they are crude. They hurt Tyra's feelings but they also open her eyes.

That initial meeting and the differing interpretation of what it meant to both Tyra and Tack resonate throughout the book and it gets revisited and re-discussed as their relationship builds and they begin to learn about each other. It was gratifying to read on and watch as Tack began to get how much he had initially hurt her and as he subsequently sets about to redeem himself in her eyes.

I liked Tyra because she simply did not take Tack's crap. And he doled it big time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tack is my new fav!! May 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Move over Tate, Tack is my new fav!!!
I loved every word in this book. Kristen, you have done it again!!

I could not wait for Amazon to get it together and make Motorcycle Man available to us, so I bought it from "the other guys" and after 30 minutes of strange, confusion as to how to download it, I finally got it done and read. But I had to comment on here cause I dont want anyone to pass this book up....

Tack and Tyra's (Red) book is definitly my fav out of the Dream Man Series (with Hawk and Gwen's story a very close 2nd) and while I still think Sweet Dreams is my #1 fav book,(or is it Until The Sun Falls From The Sky?! Or maybe 3 Wishes?! or possibly even Play It Safe?! or anyone of the Rock Chick books?!..... Aww screw it, I've read em all and loved em all!!) Tack is my #1 guy. He is so hardcore, and scruffy and just delicious in this book.

I'm hoping whichever book comes out next is already close to being done cause I am addicted and can't hardly wait!

1.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't finish this one! September 27, 2013

This was such a let down.
I love MC books and Tyra & Tacks story was soooo lame I just couldn't ruin my MC love affair on this garbage, so I chose to call it quits about 40-45%
I honestly think 99% of anything that came out of Tyra's mouth was
"Tack-"
OMG was that annoying.

For ever page half of it was repeated crap,
Most of the book it went something like this....

I liked it, I liked that I liked it, and for that I liked it very much,
"Yeah, I liked it too"
"You get me, you gotta get me, you get me"
"Yeah I get you, but Tack-"
"Babe"!
"Tack, let me go, Tack"
"Babe"!
"Tack-"
"You get me now, Red?"
"Yeah, Tack, I got you, but I don't want to get you, but I get you, you get me!"
"Yeah. Red! I get you, you get me"
"Tack-"

One of the best things about the novels KA writes is how three dimensional her characters are. In MM, Tack is, obviously, a biker ... but he's also a caring and protective father, an unaplogetic jerk, a leader in his organization successful in making the lives of all those around him better, a man who is willing to make sacrifices for the people he loves and a flat out badass.

Tyra makes a transformation of her own from just getting through life to actually living it. Like so many of us who found love, the best parts of her came out after she got involved with Tack because not only did he make it safe for her, just knowing him helped her come out of her shell.

Now if getting to know all this about the main characters doesn't impress you, the fact that we get to know the supporting cast just as well might. I want to know all about what is going on with Chaos. I want to know what Lainey is going to end up doing. I can't wait for the subsequent series, "Chaos". I love that I got to see my old 'friends' from other novels KA has written.

To get down to the brass tacks, KA brings us on an adventure once again. There's a mob/kidnapping situation, there's badass biker chick drama, there's teenage rebellion and heartbreak, and there's an incredible love story between Tack and Tyra who are just made for each other.

This book is definitely moving up the list as one of my favorite KA romances.

More About the Author

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen's Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing's changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she's blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.
