5.0 out of 5 stars STAND UP STRAIGHT!
"If this band moved in next door to you, your lawn would die." -- Lemmy
To paraphrase Bill Murray, there are two types of people in this world: those who love Motörhead, and those who are pathetic wimps. This DVD is an absolute blast. From classics like "Metropolis" and "Iron Fist" to new rockers like "Stay Out of Jail" and "Sacrifice", there's not a bad song in...

2.0 out of 5 stars Some love it, some hate it
Mixed reviews. Always hard to come to a conclusion when half the reviews are 5 stars and the other half are one. So let's break it down: Sound, very good. I had to toy with my 5.1 settings a bit but finally got it and was happy. Sight: great, sharp video. Extras, good, some cool old footage. So what's the problem? First, I really wish this was a normal show with...

"If this band moved in next door to you, your lawn would die." -- Lemmy
To paraphrase Bill Murray, there are two types of people in this world: those who love Motörhead, and those who are pathetic wimps. This DVD is an absolute blast. From classics like "Metropolis" and "Iron Fist" to new rockers like "Stay Out of Jail" and "Sacrifice", there's not a bad song in the nearly two-hour set. (Was there ever a bad Motörhead song, really?) Cools extras like the Wacken Open Air show, "Ain't No Nice Guy" unplugged, music videos, bios, interviews, etc., make this DVD a great value for Motörheadbangers everywhere. It's my favourite music DVD and I'd gladly lend it to you... but then I hardly know you, so you'll just have to get your own. Buy two and give one to your neighbour. It's the least you can do after killing his lawn.

5.0 out of 5 stars Motorhead Celebrates 25th Anniversary in Style!, November 14, 2001
By

This review is from: Motorhead - 25 & Alive: Boneshaker (DVD)
Not many bands manage to make it to their 25th birthday. Even less have the level of influence on the world of rock that Motorhead have exerted. Some of the worlds biggest bands continually give a nod to Lemmy and the boys, citing them as the reason they first picked up a guitar.

It seems only fitting that Motorhead would celebrate their 25th Anniversary in real style. Going back to their roots, the band played a special show at London's famous Brixton Academy. With special guests like Brian May (QUEEN), Fast Eddie Clark (ex-Motorhead), Whitfield Crane (UGLY KID JOE) and Doro Pesch (DORO, WARLOCK), the stage was set for a very special evening.

The entire event was captured on film and is now presented here in DVD format. The DVD also features lots of behind the scenes and backstage material as well as interviews unique to this release. There are even some cool easter eggs for you to discover! This is the difinitive Motorhead concert - a milestone in the career of these metal giants!

5.0 out of 5 stars outstanding !!, September 23, 2002

I cannot describe the feeling that you receive from seeing a motorhead live concert, the nearest experience you can get without buying a ticket & get into a mass filled fan auditorium is buying this dvd or some of the live LP's, in fact the dvd gives you all, the sound is incredible 5.1 standard, the live set is awesome, it is also fulfilled with extras, hidden features. I have seen it maybe 30 times & keep going, also there are two promotional videos (sacrifice & god save the queen), videos from Lemmy & Phil playing "I ain't no nice guy", 4 live songs from the wacken open air festival in germany in 2001.
In short you get everything you want from a live dvd, the cameras & the sound is over the top! You get assaulted, insulted, & you end deaf from hearing Motorhead as a bonus! Long life to Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell & Mr. Dee!

5.0 out of 5 stars This DVD rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, January 15, 2006

This DVD is a must have for any MOTORHEAD fan, and at the time marked the 25 th anniversary of the band in a special concert at the Brixton Academy London England, october 22, 2000.

This DVD is very special for the extra features that includes an acoustic version of the classic "Ain't no nice guy" by lemmy and phil (awesome) plus the complete music videos for "sacrifice" and " god save the queen" rarely played on the video music channels on the american market, Backstage interviews with all the members of the band and the road crew, 4 extra songs at a festival " live at wacken open air", also a special gallery motorhead members past and present described by lemmy.

The difference between this one and "stage fright"( both great) , is that you could have the oportunity to see and listen different set of songs of the band because motorhead have an extensive material of songs.

The special guest invited to this show : Brian may (queen), Doro pesch (Doro), eddie " fast" clarke (motorhead early days).

Also please check the song "bomber" in wich they have the legendary bomber airplane on the set, is amazing and the light effects pretty cool.

This is like the DVD tittle a total BONESHAKER.

First, I really wish this was a normal show with just Moterhead doing its thing. Instead we get about a third of the songs with guests joining the band and it's totally lame. Secondly, as seems to be the current fad the video jumps all over at that "MTV generation/beyond short attention span" rate. The cameras are not still for a second. I'm in my 30s and I know that the younger people have grown-up with this sort of thing but I still cannot get used to it. So there you have it. If you don't mind strobe-like, video game-like camera movements and hacks like Doro destroying Motorhead classics you will love this DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars The only way to feel the noise is when it's good and LOUD!, October 1, 2002

This is without a doubt the best concert DVD I've ever seen. Boneshaker will kick your butt. The 5.1 digital sound is great, the picture is crisp and clear, the setlist is fantastic and played with great energy for a band that's been around for 25 years. Lemmy at 55 is still the man, he is Rock and Roll. This DVD also has many hidden extras, including four songs from a concert done in Germany in 2001, and two videos. If you have never seen them live, then this is about as close as you can get to the real thing without actually being there. In short, this DVD is so good that I bought it twice.

4.0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars for Motorhead - 3 Stars for the DVD, August 7, 2005
This review is from: Motorhead - 25 & Alive: Boneshaker (DVD)
The band sounds great with alot of energy going into the show. BUT - The menu is strange and confusing, the volume rises and falls in a weird way, and the quick edits, while adding excitment, are over done - all of it adding up to a DVD that doesn't really do justice to the band.

This review is from: Motorhead - 25 & Alive: Boneshaker (DVD)
I loved what I could see but for the life of me I can't figure out to access the 'hidden' items like the Wacken festival and the unplugged "I Ain't No Nice Guy." Can someone PLEEEASE tell me how to do this? It's frustrating the hell out of me!

I'd be eternally grateful if you'd enlighten me at

This DVD is great. The camera work is perfect and super clear. The sound is awsome. Each song is played by the guys like it's the first time ever. I mean they aren't up there just slogging through the set, there's real enthusiam. Really tight and loud. Lot's of fun. 25 years and better than ever! My only complaint is the guest guitar people invited in for the grand finale. It just didn't work. They weren't Motorhead so they should have stayed away from that stage. The interviews are pretty weak too. But I honestly have to say this is one of the best concert videos I've ever seen. Buy it now!
