I have had 4 of these things go bad. After about a year, nothing but false alarms. They fail so quickly that I have been carrying 2 spares. The MH dealer replaced the first unit at 2 months, the others have been on my nickel. If I can find an alternative, I will have bought my last one.

This is a replacement for my original unit that failed after 2.5 years. These detectors are supposed to be replaced every 5 years. They are notoriously unreliable. You need to carry a spare in case your unit starts sounding an alarm without reason such as when the gas is turned off and the camper is not occupied. The worst thing is when the alarm goes off in the middle of the night for no reason.

This is the third one on my motorhome. After about a year the Propane Alarm goes off continuously. I have a propane free motorhome...go figure. Don't waste your money

The detector stopped working in our trailer so we ordered this, it was not as expensive thru Amazon as the RV parts stores. It works so we are able to RV safely again.
