Comfortable and easy to use, however...,

This review is from: Motorola H715 Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I bought this headset along with a complimentary car charger from the Costco over the holidays for $50. Price-wise, that was about as high as I was looking to. This being my first bluetooth device, I was concerned about lack of crystal clear sound and constantly dropping calls.
Pros: - Ease of use. Click the dial to call the last person you dialed. Click again to end the call. Click the dial to answer calls on your cellphone. - Ease of setup. Between 5-10 seconds for my phone to find the bluetooth. A little longer if you're responding to a call. - The headset has a multi-color indicator that goes from red --> yellow-->green when its fully charged. That in itself is eye candy. - indicator lights blue when it has charge-- however, fails to indicate how much charge is remaining. The indicator lights up either red or blue. Hopefully you don't find out during an important phone call. - The device looks great and feels great. Very light and comfortable to wear for extended period of time. I wore the device around my right ear for most of a 7 hour drive from San Diego to San Jose without any complaints. - no dropped calls. Cons: - The sound isn't as clear as it could be. I think this is very noticeable especially when you're driving, you have fits telling the other end to 'say that again.' Also, I wouldn't recommend going outside a 5-foot radius from your phone as there appears to be some pronounced noise. - Noise-canceling feature seems to be more of a marketing gimmick. - battery life could be better. After about 3 hours of usage on a recent trip, I stowed the headset away and turned the headset off by moving the boom to the closed position. Two days later I went to use it and the entire battery was drained. Remember that the lithium ion battery is non-replaceable. - It does take awhile to fully charge. About 1 1/2 hours seems a bit much for such a small device. Overall, I'm pretty happy about the size, weight, and comfortability of the device. The sound could be clearer --It's noticeable, but not a significant issue that should dissuade anyone from using this headset effectively. Highly Recommended (just)

I jumped on this headset because I'd read so many good reviews from many different sources, the voice quality is good, the headset fits well and is very light, quick to connect.. but I didn't properly review the other Motorola models.
Turns out that the only difference between this model H715 and the previous model H710 is the color. If color doesn't mean anything to you, like it doesn't to me, look for the H710. I waited all of 30 minutes to go back and cancel my order, after I'd found out, but I was too late... they'd already started packing it for shipment. I shipped it back 3 days later. Bottom Line: It doesn't hurt to look at previous models to see what upgrades you're getting and where the technology is being implemented by the manufacturer. If you buy this H715, you're paying almost 20% more for the same device (H710), only a different color.

I bought one of these to replace a plantronics. I was going to buy a Jawbone 2 or a BlueAnt but both of these were "in ear" devices and I was tired of the "squishy" feeling I got after repeatably putting a thing in my ear. So I went looking for an on-ear headset. This one works great
Pros: It connects very quickly w/ my Blackberry upon opening Sound is good, loud and volume easy to control The flip to-open-and-turn-on is great - no more messing with a single button hoping it turns on. Also, i can answer the phone, flip the 715 open with one hand and it connects quickly so I don't have to drive w/ a mobile to my ear and risk a ticket. Cons: Its the only device I have w/ a micro USB connector so I have yet another charger! For those who want an on- ear headset this is great and a good price. So far battery life is fine. I keep a charger in my car and one on the counter so I can keep the charge up all the time.

Forget the rest - this is the best bluetooth for many reasons,

First I want to say that I've got a bit of a thing against Motorola (due to numerous problems with their Star-Tac phone years ago - yes, I'm holding a grudge), but regardless of my feelings about them, I have to give soaring praises to this bluetooth headset.
I've tried many headsets recently, including Blueant and Jabra, but the basic design of the Motorola is what has me sold, especially when adding in the great performance of the H715. For some reason, I simply cannot wear earbuds or anything like them. They hurt my ear AND they always fall out. Yes, I've tried numerous styles and adjustments, but regardless, ear-bud styles don't work for me. I use a "marshmallow" in-the-ear style of earphones with my Mp3 and they work well, but none of the bluetooth headsets were tolerable or would even stay in, until I tried the Motorola. This set just hangs on the outside of the ear. It's SUPER comfy and the clarity is great. It's so comfortable that I forget that I'm wearing it. I've never had even ONE of the other headsets that didn't either hurt or annoy me after 30 minutes or so. I just couldn't wait to get them off my head. The motorola, once on and secured, feels like it isn't there. And if you feel like it's not tight enough, just move it around a bit...there will be a "spot" where it feels completely secure. The other thing that I love is the folding boom that turns the headset on and off. You never have to worry about sticking it in your purse or pocket, only to have it turn on. When you fold the boom closed, the headset turns off and stays off until you fold the boom open again. I love that part. The clarity of the H715, in particular, has been super. My husband has a convertible car, and even when he's driving with the top down, you can hear him clearly. Finally, this product is a great deal. I just bought one at Costco that came with the headset, a wall charger AND a car charger for $30. Now THAT'S a great value. In spite of my basic hatred for all things Motorola, even I have to sing praises for the H715.

First, I'll say that this is my first wireless headset (previously used wired earbuds). This being the case, I read a lot of comments on various BT headsets and found three things I wanted in a headset.
1 - Good battery life. 2 - On ear, rather than in ear. 3 - Ease of use. For me, ease of use is having no issues connecting/pairing to my cell phone and easy to put into action from an powered-off and stowed condition. This headset goes from not-in-use to ready-for-use in no time flat. Flip the boom to power on and slide over ear and its ready for use. For me, it was a couple days before I got accustomed to the 'floating' on-ear position and feel of this headset. Also, on initial charging, it did not hold it's charge very well. However, by the third recharge cycle, the power performance was satisfactory. The sound level is very satisfactory and adjustable. Coming from earbuds to this on-ear headset, the floating position was unfamiliar and it took a while before I understood that it did not require being stuck into my ear to have satisfactory loudness. The only detractor that I've noticed is what seems to be a slight bluetooth transmission delay between the cellphone and headset. Overall, the H715 provided a very nice wireless headset experience for me.

I purchased this product because I don't headsets that stick in your ear. Also, i have a small ear so this works perfectly. It stays on without problems. I have great reception. The quality is good, I can hear People and they can hear me. It appears to reduce background noises as I dont hear many complaints while talking on the phone. Easy connect and turnoff.
However, I have has a few experience with the device disconnecting while I'm on a call. It usually connects again within seconds.

I just love this bluetooth! It is so light weight that you forget it is even on your ear. It was very simple to program and my phone picks it up every time. It is very easy to switch from your right to your left ear and back; you can change this in a matter of seconds. Sometimes I wear a plastic headband because I have long hair and sunglasses at the same time and the headset still fits well and is comfortable. I also love the fact that it sits on your ear instead of having the little speaker thingy that goes in your ear. I wondered when I ordered it if this would make a difference in the sound quality but it does not affect it at all. I can hear my callers great and they hear me with perfect clarity. I would advise anyone to buy this bluetooth I know I will never, ever want a different one!

good headset for the price,
This review is from: Motorola H715 Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I got this bluetooth headset for a discounted price on here (Amazon), and it really works great. It has pretty decent battery life, especially on stand-by. Even if you're on it for a few 30min conversations, it will still have power. I previously had a much cheaper Motorola headset and friends were complaining about an echo and a slight static noise whenever I spoke. With this headset, that no longer happens.

Lighter than the motorola 850 and better sound than the motorola 710 i have had. It does pick up background noise its supposed to cancel. but, I'm more satisfied that I bought it direct from Amazon, because though they all say their product is new, this came in a box, stickers and all and works the best out of the three i've bought of amazon. I think some of the others are refurbished.

The Motorola H715 Blue-tooth headset is a great product for the price. The $29 dollar sets do not compare.
The H715 is easy to operate, just flip open the mic and push the BIG center button. That's it. When your done, just push the button again. The other great feature is that it rest outside your ear, not inside like the cheap ones. My purchase was a replacement for my wife's. She lost it while pumping gas and it got ran over before she knew it was gone. But I use the exact same model. It also includes a 12 volt car and 120 volt house charger. |
