I bought this headset (from CCMACCESSORIES) for my son to use at college, I had owned the same model a year or so ago so I knew what to expect in performance. I know about the knock-off versions out there and after receiving this one I compared the unit and packaging to the Motorola Counterfeit Booklet information provided online very closely. This packaging was a little different from the version I got from Verizon a while back, but the unit works fine so far....5 days. I have owned quite a few wireless headsets since they came out, for work (I'm tough on them) and this one works as good as my other one did. The difference in this packaging was that the card said "Universal" on the front where my other one didn't. The owners manual was the same, it had all the Warranty paperwork the same, the charger had the plastic covering it correctly, and the unit itself had all the correct printing on it. It paired up with his Nokia phone on the first attempt and all the buttons work OK...it activates the Phone Dialing prompt with the center 'Phone' button, the volume buttons work, and the boom mic swings out with ease like it should turning the unit ON and OFF. The blister packaging was correctly formed...the only issue with the unit itself is the center 'Phone Button' imprint didn't aim in the same direction and the Motorola insignia like they said it should in that Motorola Counterfeit guide...but the thing works as it should! The rule of thumb with the pricing of these things is..."If it's more than half the price from the OEM Cell Providers, it's a fake"....so, if this is a knock-off, it sure is a good one. I guess Motorola changed the card insert to say 'Universal' since I got my first one and lowered the price significantly, as it is an older model?!?!
