Great headset, excellent quality.,

I am extremely pleased with the H681 Bluetooth Headset. It works extremely well in my car. I drive approximately 1000 miles per week, so I have the headset on for long periods. At first it was a little uncomfortable, but after I got the hang of finding a comfortable position, I can hardly tell it is there. The reception is great with no fading in and out. The power and volume controls are conveniently located. I use my headset with a Razr and there have never been any connection problems. Also, voice dialing works great. If you're looking for a small and lightweight headset with great voice quality, this is the one for you.

This headset is loud and clear, much better than my previous two headset, Samsung WEP200 and Samsung WEP500.The WEP200 was too quiet and WEP500's design and DSP was bad. Both headsets have a bad habit of falling off, especially when I'm eating. The H681 stays on securely, is comfortable, and is loud and clear on my end and the other end! Plus, the dedicated power switch, easy pairing, and sleek charging base just puts this over the top. Highly recommended! Only thing that I wish that it has is a carrying case like a WEP200 or WEP500.

I can't tell you how much I loved this headset for the first two months. Great volume, excellent noise cancellation, clear as a bell, light weight, good battery life, comfortable to the point you forget you have it on, and a cute little recharger that magnetically grabs and self-aligns the headset on the charging unit. Yep, the noise cancellation even worked (pretty well) on excessive wind noise making convertable driving and talking on bluetooth possible -- I was able to use it driving around town with the top down (although putting up all the windows helped the person on the other end understand me better). That was the first couple of months. Now, however, it won't hold a charge. I put it on and make a 30 minute phone call, hang up and give a voice command to dial another number and I get that you're-out-of-power double-beep. So I put it back onto the charger and it powers up quickly, but just won't last. Too late to return it because I only got a 30 day warranty even though I bought it from AT&T.

I bought this, so I would be able to keep my eyes on the road when driving. I am hard of hearing and this little thing lets me hear clearly, since it is right in my ear.

I bought two. One for me and one for my husband. He likes his. Mine bothers my ear after a short period even with the pads. Also I can hear the call come in but the caller cannot hear me so I need to switch to my mobile in order to talk. My husband would give it a 5 and I would give it a 1 so the 3 rating.

Not micro USB exactly & magnetic stand cool but flawed,

I bought this because it charged with a micro-USB, I thought I'd be able to charge it with all my phone chargers. But it turns out the tiny stand that holds it does the charging and THAT takes a micro USB plug. So if all you have is a micro USB charger (say, in your car) you won't be able to charge it without the tiny stand. Bummer, and not shown in the pictures or description when I bought it.The tiny stand has a magnet that grabs the earpiece and holds it in place for charging. It works great but the stand is so small and light it hardly stands up, I might have to tape mine to my desk to get the earpiece on and off without fumbling with it. The headset itself works fantastic. One nice feature is it disconnects itself from the phone when it's on the charger, but does not turn itself off. So you can walk up, grab the earpiece and answer a call. When you set it back on the stand it will disconnect from your phone so you can use the phone normally on the next call. I have a slightly hard time hooking the loop over my ear but I imagine I'll get the hang of it.

Temporary,
This review is from: Motorola H680 / H681 / H685 Bluetooth Headset *Black* (In At&t Retail Packaging) (Electronics)
As others have said, this bluetooth earpiece is pretty decent for, in my case, the first several months, maybe even a year. My biggest complaint from day one is lack of noise cancelling. It has none! This was released before that technology became more prevalent, and to get a decent noise cancellation you will have to spend more. All technology breaks down over time...the metal contacts on the charger/bluetooth are wearing down so it has to be sitting flat and be setup just right to get a charge, and recently it started turning on on it's own, so if I don't want to use it I have to make sure bluetooth is disabled on my phone otherwise it might randomly connect. Also very hard to hear in noisy areas, and the person on the other side will probably hear everything. If you need a cheap, temporary fix this could be the answer. The best part is the fun startup chimes that sound like something from the old video game Bubble Bobble. Classic.

This unit works well once you get used to it. However, the charger adapter is awkward and easily misplaced due to it's size. I lost mine and now cannot buy a replacement as a service part. I had to buy an aftermarket charger and I have to use a rubber band to make it tight against the charging contacts. Poor design. I am thinking about going back to a corded earpiece.

My phone is literally a brick. This definitely makes me hate my phone less so I don't always have to hold it up to my ear. Good for multitasking since you'll have an extra hand free.Only problem is noise cancellation. Forget about washing the dishes or doing anything else that is louder than you are on the phone. All the sound goes through and the other person can't hear you. A good buy though for the price, no doubt. |
