Watch Out Jawbone,
By Jones (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Motorola H15 Noise Canceling Bluetooth Wireless Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Don't you get a little tired of every bluetooth headset being compared to Aliph? I suppose there is a reason for that so I will get this part out of the way. Jawbone 1 was a brick on my head and no way to carry it either. Jawbone II has about 3 hr talk time and has fitment issues (just about any piece does but there is usually a work around). Anyways, they are both top shelf noise killers as long as that little thingie touches your face. With all that said the H15 has the most amazing noise killing ability I have ever used and that would be quite a list of maybe 25 headsets or so over 4 years. My wife could not hear my radar detector (it's pretty loud, it will scare you) or door chimes or seatbelt warning (ooops) and I don't think any unit ever passed that test clean. But here is the real killer...wind...outdoors...only tested light wind so far but that would be enough to kill others. I don't test by cranking a 1000 watt stereo or putting my face in front of a chainsaw running wide open, let the lab boys at Moto do that stuff...I just use it real world and try to evaluate it. Moto has this one dialed in. Fitment and alignment is very important for proper volume and noise cancel features. It's designed that way...It's not a ear ring, not supposed to just hang there. there are at least 10 combinations provided by Moto for fitment so play with it. I chose no ear loop using the alternate type ear bud that looks like they have 1/2 a o-ring behind them. Might not stay on my head in a boxing match but not too bad. This same solution worked for my wife too (yeah, had to buy her one). Stick it in your ear! lol Mine stays there and comfort is decent. It's recovery charge is fast and is mini-USB so it can charge off USB port from laptop or phone charger in your car, whatever Tip: After I achieved fitment I could hear a very very slight hiss at max volume...1 click off that it went away. PLEASE don't read into this it has a hiss issue, I have to be in total library silence and listen for it. Since I am somewhat deaf I assume others will hear this after they get it fitted correctly. I have found I can use it at quite a bit less volume than other headsets because it is so clear. My truck has Flowmasters on it and I drive 80 on the highway and still don't need max on all calls...play with it. Tip: You can always get a custom ear gel. Many people have done this with Jawbone II with excellent results but that does not solve the short battery life issue. This unit might be worth it if you can't get it to fit...do try losing the earhook...mine fit better with out it and so did my wife's The earhook seemed to keep pulling it out of my ear and killed the volume performance. Use the optional ear gels it comes with for this. Tip: Just for the record I have used the H15 with 3 phones so far, Moto Q9H Global upgraded to WM 6.1 Standard. Moto Z9. Moto V3xx. AT&T GSM Network. Works perfect with all. Close: Your mileage may vary just like opinions. I trust my opinion because it's scientific not emotional. I've seen folks run motorcycles into trees and say motorcycles are dangerous, but I suppose you could say trees are dangerous too. I think that's what happens in some of these reviews. So which is it? The motorcycle or the tree at fault? Or is it *maybe* the rider? H15 seems to be working fine after 1 week for 2 people here on my planet. Oh, and it's way better than the H12 if you have one of those. Also one final note, the flip boom is great, it seems to grab the call as soon as I open it, but it takes a second before you can talk...plays a little tone so you know. Haven't lost a call to voice mail yet.

Lets start by saying I've purchased approx. 10 bluetooth in about a 2 year period. This Motorola H15 is the best bluetooth I've ever had PERIOD. People can actually hear me and understand me when they CAN hear me. I've never used the Jawbone, but the noice canceling feature on this headset is amazing. Everyone I've talk to since I've purchased the headset said they hear nothing in the back ground. I come through crystal clear. It also fits perfectly in my ear, its small, lightweight and I really forget I have it in my ear. I could type all day about this item, i say that cause u dont know my frustration with headset, I'm constantly on the phone and it's so frustrating when people on the other end can't hear you or understand you. I recommend this product and would give it 10 stars if I could. One more thing, I've read other reviews and the volume issue that other people have spoke of, I've haven't notice that at all. The headset come with optional ear gels so u have to find the one that fits you. I used this headset with the Iphone and it paired quickly and easy.

Comfortable But Diffucult To Hear/Low Volume At Maximum,
By Jonathon "Jonathon" (California) - See all my reviews

I love the fit of the H15 by Motorola. The mic boom lowers and operates as a ON/OFF switch as well for total ease.Great fit with the ear loop and excellent selection of various included ear buds. Yet where this fails is the maximum for volume means you MUST push the unit into your ear canal for your ability to hear the other party. This applied to all calls and all ear buds. The H15 simply has sub-standard volume even at maximum. Those I was talking with said they heard little noise while I was in the car or even knew I was using a Bluetooth. That's a positive. I had to always use one hand to push the H15 into my ear to be able to hear and one hand on the wheel of the car so it defeated the purpose of a hands-free device altogether. Not a good choice for $129.

GREAT HEADSET BUT...,

This review is from: Motorola H15 Noise Canceling Bluetooth Wireless Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Motorola's Motopure H15 is a great headset with great incoming and outgoing sound but only when I wear it in my right ear. I'm not sure if others had this "problem" but for me the outgoing sound quality suffers when I wear it in my left ear. Listeners complained about my voice fading out and I'd have to hold my head a certain way to be heard clearly. I then tried calling my home phone and muting the home phone so I could hear for myself. I heard the same thing that others were hearing, my voice would fade out when my head was turned a certain way. I moved my head and it would sound fine. I switched the headset to my right ear and listened on my home phone and it sounds great no matter which way my head is turned. So far, I haven't had any problems being heard while wearing the H15 in my right ear. No big deal to me, I'll just wear it in my right ear all the time. In my right ear, the H15 is the best bluetooth headset I've ever owned with the best noise cancellation I've experienced to date. I sat inches from TV and stereo speakers turned up quite high and the headset managed to cancel the majority of the noise. I read reviews about the incoming volume not being loud enough but I've had no problems hearing my callers with it even with TV's and music playing in the background. I use the headset 3-4 notches from maximum volume and it's still plenty loud for me. There is a slight hiss heard at maximum volume but it's not a deal breaker to me and can be corrected by just turning the headset down a few clicks. I use the headset with my unlocked Razr 2 V9 and don't have any other phones to test it with so I wasn't able to test out the multipoint feature. The headset paired quickly and easily with my phone. Once paired the headset connects and is ready to use in seconds. When the headset is off, you don't have to worry about missing any calls because it connects to the phone quickly when you turn it back on. The headset supports all the needed features: answer and end calls, reject calls, redial, volume adjustment and muting, call waiting support (which is a must for me), and you can easily transfer calls from the headset to the phone and vice versa. Another great feature is the H15 allows you to check the battery level by pressing a few buttons. It then shows the battery level by flashing a light: green for full, yellow for medium, and red when it's getting low. The fit of the headset was great for me. It fits nice and secure in my ear and is quite comfortable. It's really light so I hardly notice that I'm wearing it. A flexible ear clip and 5 ear cushions are included so you shouldn't have a problem getting a good comfortable fit with it in my opinion. In closing, when wearing the H15 in my right ear, it's an excellent headset, the best I've used so far. Noise cancellation is top notch and the fit is comfortable and secure. My only gripe is the slight hiss that can be heard when the volume is at maximum. Wear the headset in your right ear, turn the volume down a few clicks from maximun and it's an almost perfect headset in my opinion.

I have been using the Jawbone II for the past 6 months or so, and although the voice quality on the Jawbone was excellent, I missed my H700 because I could turn it off after a call by simply flipping the mic shut, and then turn it on when a call came in, with almost instant connection to my iPhone. I had switched from the H700 because the voice quality simply wasn't good enough. Now that Moto has come out with a noise canceling version of the H700 (and much smaller, at that!), I figured I'd try this one out. It hasn't disappointed. The voice quality is just about as good as the Jawbone (almost, not quite), and I have that great battery life because of the ability to turn the thing off after a call. The battery typically lasts me about two weeks or more before I charge it, and I haven't found anything else that is nearly as good. I can go on a business trip, and not worry about carrying a charger with me. On top of that, I went through about 4 ear pieces on the Jawbone because they are so fragile, and don't have to worry about that at all with the H15. Only downside is that every once in a while the headset will turn on but for some reason not connect to the iPhone. I'll turn it off and on a couple of times, and it will connect. You can tell because when the headset turns on you get some musical tones, and then a "click" when it connects. If you don't hear the click, then it hasn't connected. This only happens occasionally, though. Controls are easy to understand, and easy to find while on your ear. Overall, very satisfied with this earpiece. I can't imagine exchanging this for anything else (unless they can figure out a way to implant one in my head! :-D ).

The Motorola H15 is what I've been looking for. I've tried almost everything on the shelf. I could never get the right combination. Something was always not right. The fit, the sound quality, the controls, etc. This little unit is it. It fits and stays put. The sound quality is great on both ends. The controls are easy to use and I love the folding boom mic. The noise and wind cancellation does a very good job. This is the first Bluetooth headset I've been totally happy with.

I bought one for my wife. I mistakenly interpreted her vaguely positive response as an endorsement and bought a second one.We have very different voices. We use them in a variety of contexts from riding in the car, to being around noisy kids on a playground to being in a quiet bedroom. It *always* sucks. Or even worse...it is clear for a few seconds and then it drops in and out. Then it becomes clear again. I could hear the other person perfectly the entire time. The form factor of the device was very comfortable. The charger is very cool looking and convenient. But no one could understand what we were saying! Argh. I have since gone on to purchase several Plantronics headsets that work perfectly well. EDIT: Here are the ones that I purchased and I am happy with. I got them when they were on sale. I am listing them here in order of descending preference. 1. Plantronics, Inc Voyager 520 Bluetooth Earset 2. Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth Earpiece (Black) [Retail Packaging] 3. Plantronics Discovery 665A Bluetooth Headset (Black,Silver) NOTE: ALL Plantronics have proprietary charging. And as far as I can tell you can't share the chargers between headsets. Which is strange. #1 above is bulky. Perfectly comfortable, but slightly larger and thus "the lady of the house" might not like it as much. #2 was the favorite of milady but alas...it has been lost. #3 has good sound quality, but the design is such that it feel a bit fragile and if you are rough on things (as I am) you will frequently find yourself putting it back together. Sound quality was very good with all of them.

I've previously used Plantronics, Motorola, Jabra and Nokia headsets. Some, like the Moto H12, were noise-canceling sets. None of them worked well in noisy environments like airports and cars. The H12 was often too quiet at full volume, and nobody could hear me. The rest failed similarly. The H15 works great in the car and office, although I haven't tried it at an airport yet. The headset volume is so loud at minimum that I have to pull it out of my ear while I'm ringing somebody. Voice quality is great, maybe even better than my phone itself, which is an HTC Mogul. People can hear me, and that is priceless. Other sets, including the H12, couldn't manage to faithfully transmit my voice even in quiet rooms. This was true to the extent that I had to spell my name to people, and usually twice at that! The H15 has put an end to my frustrations. Again, that is priceless. (Ps. I bought mine in bulk from another reseller. I didn't need any frills. Buy the retail-packaged product if you want all those goodies.)

Best BT headset I've used so far,
By N.S. "N.S." (Roanoke, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Motorola H15 Noise Canceling Bluetooth Wireless Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
To date, I've used several older Jabra units, a couple of older Motorolas, and most recently two BlueAnt Z9s and a Plantronics Voyager 520. I lost one of my Z9s and stepped on the other one. I really liked the BlueAnt units but my wife wasn't impressed with the call quality. After the demise of the Ants, I picked up a Plantronics Voyager 520 from Wal-Mart because I needed something quickly and the reviews were fairly positive. As indicated by my Amazon review, I was less than pleased with the Voyager 520.Now, on to the Motorola H15 Motopure. Below are the essential criteria by which I judge my BT headsets and how the H15 stacks up. - Call quality: As noted in my Plantronics review, the most important factor is the quality of the call for the other party... which is most often my wife. If she can't hear me clearly she becomes irritated and demands that I revert to the handset. The Motorola gets high marks for call quality. As a matter of fact, it's the first BT headset I've used that she hasn't made a derisive comment about. The noise canceling seems to work very well. It's the first headset I've been able to use with the car windows down. Clearly, the noise canceling is superior to that of the BlueAnt and Plantronics units I owned previously. - Earpiece volume: The other pet peeve my wife has is repeating herself. If I can't hear her and have to ask her to repeat herself, it's not good. The H15 barely passes this test. It definitely could be louder. The Plantronics unit excelled in this area which was it's only redeeming quality. If the H15 was louder, it would be absolutely perfect for me. - Comfort: The retail version of the H15 comes with quite a few ear buds to tailor the fit to the individual user. I found a suitable ear bud and the device is reasonably comfortable for extended usage (1-2 hours). The H15 also comes with a nice charging stand, is multi-point capable, and the flip open/close boom is a great feature. It quickly re-pairs with my Omnia and hasn't lost BT connectivity yet. The buttons are fairly easy to manipulate and overall the H15 is aesthetically pleasing, relatively speaking. In summary, the H15 is the best BT headset I've used. It edges out the BlueAnt Z9 ever so slightly. As a matter of fact, I was debating between the H15 and the BlueAnt Z9i. While I'm sure I would like the Z9i, in no way do I regret the purchase of the H15, especially at the price point I paid ($49.99 for the retail package). It would have garnered five stars if the earpiece volume was louder. It's a wonderful feeling knowing I won't have to shop for another BT headset for a long while. Thanks Motorola, job well done with the H15.

Being disappointed with the two Jawbones I own, I decided to give this Motorola a try. Overall, I am way happier with this unit than the others. People say my voice is clearer, and the unit is easier to turn on and off. Noise cancellation works well and it does NOT have to rest on your cheek, as the Jawbones do.
