This review is from: Motorola DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System and DECT 6.0 Headset L902 (Office Product)
I spent weeks looking for a review on this. I couldn't even find anything on the Motorola website. I took a chance and I'm SOO glad I did! I let it charge, and the wireless headset was charged and ready within 3 hours. There was no need to pair it or set it up, other than time and answering machine stuff. I don't use the answering machine function, so I just turned that off. I had my wife call me, and I went all through the house, outside in several directions, etc. In the house, long rectangle shape, I got a weak signal at the very end of the house; expected as it's a long house and many many walls including brick, and many electronics. Outside, I went over 150 feet in many directions without issue. The WHOLE conversation, I talked in a hushed voice (like not to wake someone) and was heard as if I was speaking Office Normal. Distance can probably be gained by placement, but I bought this for home office where I spend 99% of the needed talk time. Works for me, so I haven't moved it around. The unit is compact and does not crowd my desk. The Wireless Headset is deceiving from the pictures. The ear arm pokes in the air when on the charger, rotates around ear and has small nub that sits in the ear very comfortably. I can see it being tight on very small ears, but otherwise, great. It's very light, very clear, comfortable, and when I thought there would be wind noise heard, I was told it was barely there. I stood next to burgers being fried in the pan, and was told it sounded like light running water. I thought I was going to have to leave the room for the noise, but caller said it was just a light noise and they heard everything I said.... again, I was speaking in a voice not to wake someone. I bought this just because of the wireless headset, and have not even used the handset but once. It was good and had no complaints, but I will use that minimally. NOTE: You CAN NOT place a call from the headset. You have to use the handset or another phone to place OUTGOING calls. In my office, I accept calls on one line and place on a second line, so this was perfect for what I needed. Now I can call out and still answer without issues. For the price, it's a great little gadget and is making my life moving around the office SOOOOOOO much better! Best purchase I've made in this area! Hope this review helps someone!

This review is from: Motorola DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone with 2 Handsets, Digital Answering System and DECT 6.0 Headset L903 (Office Product)
To begin with, I thought (per the product description and photo) that it came with 2 headsets not an extra phone and base. I cross-referenced the part # with Motorola's Web site to be sure, and they also said "2 headsets." I purchased it for a home office application, and expected to get 8+ hours of phone time out of the headset. The phone is easy to set up and the call clarity is beyond amazing. The bluetooth headset pairs easily with the handset and calls can be ended via the headset itself. Great. The headset itself fits nicely in the ear, and weighs nothing. I was also able to walk around outside my home, taking out garbage, etc. with the handset without compromising the call quality. The freedom to move around, especially during long calls, is great. The problem I have found in the first couple of days of use is the fully charged headset only gets about 4 hours of talk time before dying. There is a warning but I choose to just let it go, knowing I am stuck on the handset for the remainder of the work day. The handset is showing that it is still full battery after the same amount of talk time. It would be nice if I could then,in a pinch, plug in a standard headset into the phone, however there is no audio jack on the phone. It's a bit disappointing to only get half a day of hands free phone time out of this device. I wish I could buy a second bluetooth headset that I could keep charging in the cradle while talking on this one.

After much deliberation I decided to buy this phone, mostly because I needed a phone with a headset and after reading reviews this seemed to be the best option for the best price. I am happy with my decision, but there are a few quirky things about this phone you might want to know about. This phone is used the majority of time for my at home business.I do love using the headset with all calls because you cannot hold this phone to your ear using your shoulder. The phone is only good to talk on if you truly don't need your hands to be free. I have had my headset on while putting on makeup, styling my hair, washing my hands, washing dishes, cleaning up, typing on the computer, etc. and I've asked those I'm speaking to if they can hear what I'm doing and if it comes through loud to them - the answer is no. They can tell I'm doing something, but it is not loud enough for them to make out what I'm doing. However, to use the headset it is a multi-step (but quick) process. You dial the phone # and wait for it to start ringing. Then you hit the INT (intercom) button which pages your headset. Then you press the "talk" button on the headseat. And Finally you push the button on the phone to hang up the call because the call has been transferred to the headset. When you want to hang up from call you have to push the talk button on the headset and the end call button on the hand phone. Also, I have not figured out how to transfer between calls when I have a call coming in on call waiting. If I press the Flash button as in all other phones it does not click over to the other line, but instead hangs up on my current line. I can't find anything in the directions that tells me how to click over. Also, in regards to the call waiting: when a call comes in you don't just hear a beep on the phone letting you know, but instead you hear one "ring" of the ringtone! I don't think the person you are speaking to can hear it, but it is pretty annoying. Also, there is a ringer on the phone base/cradle and a ringer on the handset. The cool thing is you can turn the ringer off on the base or on the handset. You see the ringtone on the base doesn't seem to be syncronized with the ringertone of the phone so when the phone rings and both ringers are turned on it is loud and annoying that they don't ring in unison. The ringtones aren't as annoying as other phone brands, but when will technology catch up in this area and present us with pleasant ringtones. I don't use the answering machine that comes on the base because I use voicemail in my phone system. Also, the buttons on the phone are not buttons, but are completely flat squares to press down on. The call clarity and voice clarity is excellent - no complaints. The phone was very simple to set up and pair the headset to the phone. Would I recommend this product? Yes, if you are okay with the above "Quirks".

Great phone when you need to be hands free! The bluetooth headset is a little big compared to one for your cell phone but still works really well. I work from home and I am take calls all day. I can get around six hours talk time out of the bluetooth which really doesn't seem bad. Charges really quickly and is a great product for the price. I can hear really well from the headset which is really important for work. I haven't traveled to far from the base as I mainly use the phone for work however it works great upstairs and around my house.

Overall, I really like this phone. There are some quirky features, but while these are not always intuitive - it still has them and thus the reason why i would recommend this phoneI'll base my review on the attributes to make it fair Base-quality: Good speaker phone volume with easy to features Base-construction: Pros: Small, easy to use buttons, easy to see where the phone and earpiece sit with easy connections. Solid body - almost one piece and rather modern style Cons: Cant wall mount as speaker is on the back, but could put on shelf. Handset-quality Pros: clear voice, holds charge well, feature rich (intercom, speakerphone, remote control of answermachine, see also tips) Cons: none Handset-construction Pros: Solid phone, slim, light-weight Cons: flat phone and button design that may not appeal to all Earpiece-quality Pros: so nice to have an earpiece, its clear and easy to use Cons: limited functionality, tricky to transfer call to, no mute option, whistles when transfering from handset (due to interference, yet you need both in proximity!) Earpiece-construction Pros: charges easily, lasts approx 4hrs, simple design, more solid than typical cell earpieces cons: tricky to put on/off, not the most comfortable Phone-intuitiveness Some things on this phone are great (VM, phonebook, speed-dial) others are just quirky (delete all, pause for business meeting calls that require a pause Phone-business/personal use Pros: A solid phone for business and personal, thats easy to use and comes with an earpiece Cons: Improved transferability between handset and earpiece and a mute option on the earpiece would make this a 5star TIPS, notes and reasons to consider buying (or not): 1) you can rename each handset 2) you can set different call tones for those in the address book 3) speed dial for 9#s (unique to each handset) 4) transfer between earpiece to handset by turning on/off 5) the earpiece is essentially another phone, merely with limited functionality. So you can close the lines on the handsets, but the earpiece will still be active. 6) if you want to add a pause option for an auto dial for a # that needs an extension, you need to hold in (not press) the PAUSE/FORMAT btn - i couldn't find this in the book and stumbled across it by trial and error. 7) the earpiece uses the same DECT capability as the handsets (not bluetooth), so you can't swap in/out earpieces. Conclusion / Phone-value for money I paid $70, therefore considering the features it has and the quality of design and calls, this was money well spent.

I have had this phone for more than a month and so far it works very well, I espescially like the headset, good reception and voice is clear, the only drawback is the ringer volume, which can not be increased too much.

I had expected a better voice quality with the wireless headset. Its quality is about the same as a cheap $20 bluetooth headset. I had expected significantly better quality from a DECT 6.0 headset. The headset is also missing a mute button. I work from home spending many hours on conference calls. Not having a mute button makes this useless for me.

I would strongly encourage anyone considering this phone to select a different model, preferably from a different manufacturer. As of today this model is still NOT LISTED on Motorola's Consumer Cordless & Corded Phones website. That tells me that they don't think enough of this model to actually list it alongside the rest of their product line.We ordered this model for my wife's home office last year. Right out of the box, the bluetooth earpiece did not work. We called their customer service department and were told that the unit was defective and would have to be replaced. This was in mid-December of 2010. As of today (March 28th, 2011) we still have not received a replacement headset. We have called Motorola multiple time inquiring about the status of our replacement order only to be continually told that the item is "on back order" and that we will be notified once a new unit is on its way to us. THREE MONTHS and they still have not shipped us the replacement part that we were promised. Overall, the quality of the phone itself is sub-par. The buttons on the handset and very slow to respond when pressed, to such an extent that you will think you dialed the number incorrectly the first few times you use it because the beeps after each button press are so slow that you will have pressed multiple ones before you hear the first tone. The sound quality of the handset was decent and the functionality of the unit itself is fine. But the reason we ordered this model was for the bluetooth earpiece, which we STILL DO NOT HAVE. So, regardless of how the remainder of the unit functions, to us it is currently useless. I will never purchase another Motorola product again based on the poor experience we have had (and continue to have) with this model. I could order a second model today to get a new earpiece that we should have had from the start, but Motorola keeps telling us that they can't send us a replacement unit on its own because they don't have it in stock. How then do they still manage to keep this product on Amazon? They refuse to ship us a replacement part that we both know they have ample quantities of. What a terrible company.

Works pretty well, seems like good value for the money to me. Of course, it's very useful to be able to talk hands and wire free. What I don't like and think could be improved are:(1)range is not that great, (2)earpiece is uncomfortable for any length of time, (3)dialing a call requires turning on the handset, dialing, make sure it connects, turn on the earpiece, turn off the handset. Step out of range? Turn off the earpiece and do it all over again. Sound quality is great both directions, better than my bluetooth.
