Highlighting some of the features, I'll explain a bit more. The display size is plenty for the ability to view messages and use to browse the web. Even though it can't be compared to one of the newer phones like the Blackberry Storm or an LG that has the ability to view much more, this display is enough for basic viewing and plenty of color to view back images. One of the great features on this phone is the camera and video. This means you can take still pictures or record video images. I used both of these features and stored on the external transflash memory expansion slot with a 4 gig stick. I used these two features mainly for capturing shots and videos of "in the moment" type shooting. Having a camera and video capabilities is an incredible addon into a phone. You never know when you'll need a camera. How many auto accidents have you been involved in where you wish you had a camera to take pictures of the damage? Most of the time, you'll have your phone with you. With this phone, you would be able to take the digital still images and also a video of the incident, for proof later.

The integrated bluetooth capabilites is great to use especially if you use a bluetooth headset or ear piece. I used a motorola earpiece to allow for hands free. The other great feature with this phone (speaking of hands free), is the ability to call by voice or call a phone number using your voice, rather than typing into the phone. This feature works well with a handsfree headset. You can also use it by enabling the speaker phone function on the telephone. Speaking of the spearker phone, this phone has the speaker located on the back of the phone. Even with a case on the phone to protect it from scratches, the speaker phone feature is loud enough to hear the other person on the phone.

The phone also has internet capabilities, meaning, you can connect to the internet with the telephone. I never had a need to use this feature, but did try it within the first 30 days of use. I liked it, but again, found less use to using it because it was a feature I didn't need. You pay extra money with the phone company to add that feature onto your phone plan too. That extra cost on my phone plan wasn't worth the use because I wasn't using it.

The size of the phone address book, 1,000 entries, is enormous. I don't even have that many business contacts. But, you're able to enter each friend, family member, or business contacts information including any numbers that relate to them. This way, you'll never be without a phone number.

I used the Motorola Phone tools software to sync up my telephone address book too. This way, I was able to quickly enter everyone into my address book, rather than entering it manually onto the phone. I also used the built-in alarm clock to help wake me up in the morning, using some of the many ringtones built into the phone, or those that I may have downloaded to the phone.

All in all, this is a great phone offering some of the many features the newer phones offer. If you can find a phone where the owner hasn't abused the cosmetics of the phone, I think you will like this phone.

Pros with the phone (highlighted): has a great internal display, a 1.3-megapixel camera, speakerphone, TransFlash card slot, Bluetooth, MP3 player, 3G EV-DO support.

Band/mode: CDMA 800/1900, 1xEV-DO ; Talk time: Up to 180 min

5.0 out of 5 stars All Time Best Feature Phone, June 6, 2011

ABC MOM (Brooklyn, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Motorola E815 Phone w/camera and mp3 capabilities (Electronics)
This phone may be an old model, but its the best phone in durability, reception and sound quality I've ever owned.

We've gone through sony erricsons, nokia, blackberry's, other motorola models.

I now use a smartphone, but recently reactivated this phone for my son. Gosh, I didn't realize how much I missed it. Just solid and a pleasure to use for voice calls. NO accidental pocket dialing, lock ups, great sound quality, strong reception. I'm repeating myself, but don't underestimate these qualities and get lost in feature land, they mean nothing if you can't get a quality phone call.

Its causing me to rethink my need for a data phone and simplifying my life......

4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy and solid cell phone that really performs!, July 19, 2009
This review is from: Motorola E815 Phone w/camera and mp3 capabilities (Electronics)
I have had this cell phone for 6 months now. Very solid and sturdy. Much more so than many of the phones out today that have a cheap feel. All functions work as described. Easy to use and a big bright screen that is easy to read. Battery charge last about 3 days for me. Nothing but good things to say about this phone. You can't go wrong with the Motorola e815 if you are looking for a rock solid work horse.
