5.0 out of 5 stars Some of the best aftermarket handsfree buds...
I work at a place that sells these, along with other headsets of both higher and lower quality. These are some of my favorite buds. I must say, for the price that you can get them here on Amazon, this is a steal. You get so much bang for your buck (no pun intended, though the bass on these is great) that I'm not sure why anyone would spend more, unless going for some...

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent Sound Quality for Price
Not being satisfied with the earbuds that come with the iPhone I decided to try something else. Since I was going to use these for my phone I needed headphones with an inline microphone. I also wanted the type that went inside the ear as opposed to the Apple buds that just kind of sit on the outside. I initially tried the MacAlly set but the sound quality was not good...

I work at a place that sells these, along with other headsets of both higher and lower quality. These are some of my favorite buds. I must say, for the price that you can get them here on Amazon, this is a steal. You get so much bang for your buck (no pun intended, though the bass on these is great) that I'm not sure why anyone would spend more, unless going for some serious gear ($100+). I have tried many hands-free headsets, ones with more options, as well as ones with fewer options, and I ave not yet found a better pair for the money.
The carrying case is bright red, so you will always be able to find it, even in dim light. The earbuds conform very well to the inside of ANY shaped ear to isolate sound. The call quality is better than headphones that come with your phone, if any even do anymore. The packaging is sturdy, so as to ensure that your product is not damaged. I will admit that it took me a while to open, and I can give a quick instruction on how to do so with less hassle.
Fist, pull the plastic where it would hang on a retail hook - it will come off the plastic with a little tug. Then, turn the package around to the back, and on the bottom, in the back of the package, there is a little tab that you must pull out. Nest, slide the entire plastic casing out from the paper sheath. From here, the back panel is one entire rectangular piece that pulls off with a little prying. Some packages have clear tape holding it to the front. You can then get to the interior, and the tray that sits inside and holds your earbuds slides out easily.
Hope my review was helpful to prospective buyers, and those attempting to open their purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great sound for the price; read this about fitting to your ears, December 19, 2009
This review is from: Stereo Headset (Electronics)
The sound quality on these headphones is quite good for the price-I paid under twenty bucks. I found the sound nicely balanced between bass, midrange and treble. But the real issue with mobile headsets is how they fit your ears.

These are "in-ear" headphones, with bowl-shaped silicone inserts that block some outside sound. I prefer this type, both for the sound blocking effect and for the superior sound quality. I have always found that the the ones without the silicone inserts, like the stock Apple iPhone headphones, sound better when you press them into your ears with your fingers, but you can't hold them forever! The silicone inserts effectively hold these directly into your ear canal, routing the sound straight in.

There are two downsides to this approach: you won't be able to hear people talk to you with these playing in your ears, and you will hear lots of cord noise. The latter is particularly annoying if you are walking or exercising with the cord brushing against your clothes-the cord noise may drive you crazy. But for sitting, driving, or low-movement activity, they work great.

If you want this type of in-ear headset, then these are a good buy. Four stars. My only complaints are the awful packaging, and sound quality can always be better. But like I said, these are a good buy for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Moto HN20 earphones, February 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Stereo Headset (Electronics)
I have had several of these earphones. I have also had higher end prodects from Sennheiser, Koss and Ultimate Ears. The beauty of the Motorola HN20 is that are that they are cheap, surprisingly durable, accuarte earphones that provide a mic and botton controler.

These earphones need to be burnt in for about 3- 5 hours. After that they perform admirably. They produce clean and balanced sound throughout the spectrum. They have accurate bass, good high end and solid mid range reproduction with no obvious flaws. They are not the most efficient earphone, Iphone and portables will push them but not to ear bleeding levels. The sound however is very open and never muddy. The cords are rubberized and seem a little flimsy but have held up well to abuse. They do tend to tangle easily. I use the largest ear gel and it is just barely big enough. The ambient noise reduction is minimal and I think that is OK particularly when walking or riding the bike. They are not he best for reducing noise on a plane, but I have found other larger ear gels that work with them and they produce better noise isolation.

The bottom line for me is that these are a really good value. They are not on par with the best of the $50 -100 units but they are absolutely great for the $15 -30 dollar range. I have paid anywhere from $12.99 to 19.99 for them and in that range I beleive they are uniquely competent earphones. In this price range they are my favorite earphones because of their quality, price and the simple mic and botton control. I have given them a 5 star rating on a price dependant basis.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent Sound Quality for Price, November 12, 2009

Not being satisfied with the earbuds that come with the iPhone I decided to try something else. Since I was going to use these for my phone I needed headphones with an inline microphone. I also wanted the type that went inside the ear as opposed to the Apple buds that just kind of sit on the outside. I initially tried the MacAlly set but the sound quality was not good. Then I tried these Motorola #H20's. They look nice with the inner ear design. Also included are different sizes of rubber attachments for different sized ears. The earbuds are black plastic but do feel a little cheap. The microphone works great for calls and has a click button that works with the iPhone to pause music, switch to calls, and skips to next track. The sound quality with music is decent but not great. The design is good in that there is little outside noise that gets through. The overall sound though, is a bit on the tinny side. I like them fine for listening to podcasts and pop/rock music but not so much for jazz or classical. It also comes with a red velour type carrying bag. Beware of the packaging. It comes in a clear plastic prism type container that is confusing to open and totally unnecessary. I wish they would have used a simpler, less expensive packaging and lowered the price by a dollar. I'm sure you can get much better sound for more money but overall these are decent quality and comparable to the standard Apple iPhone earbuds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best iPhone wired headset, September 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Stereo Headset (Electronics)
After hearing and reading much about the potential dangers of bluetooth headsets, I decided to get a wired headset for my iPhone. The earbuds that come with the iPhone are not good. The first set lasted a month or so. I returned a second pair and got a free replacement, only to have the third set short out again. I think the cord is too thin and the wiring gets twisted during normal daily use. The wiring breaks causing a short and no sound. I even tried some headsets from one of those electronics kiosks they have in the malls. They didn't last either. It was hard to find a wired headset that lasted and also had the microphone needed for the phone.

I decided I would have to buy a quality pair, if they were going to last. I fly about twice a week and I found a pair of these EH-20s in the Cleveland airport for 50 dollars. Desperate to get something that would work, I bought them before my flight. After wrangling with the packaging, I used them on the flight and they were GREAT!

The first thing I noticed was that the cord was much thicker and more durable than the other headsets. Secondly, because of the way they wedge into your ear, you get a good tight, comfortable fit.
The bass sound is great, which is unusual for earbuds. They also cut out a lot of the outside sound. Sometimes, I've used them as noise canceling devices and I own a pair of the latest Bose noise canceling headphones. They aren't really for that, but depending on what you are listening to, they significantly diminish unwanted conversations and external noise. You get a few pairs of the ear inserts, so you can find the right size for your ears. You can also use the extras as backups in case the ones you are using come off, which can happen if you're constantly putting them in and out of your pants pocket. (So, be careful and keep the extra ones.) They have a carrying bag that helps protect them, but I got into the habit of not using the bag and simply wrapping the cord around my phone before putting it all in my pocket. Consequently, after many months of use, even these shorted out. Today I went to get a new pair since I was back in the Cleveland airport. After being reminded about the 50 dollar price tag, I looked at the model number, went to my gate and searched online for some EH-20s.
I was elated to find that the price was less than half of the airport price, so I'm ordering 2 pair from Amazon today.

These are the best wired iPhone headsets, I have seen. I highly recommend them... especially for this price. It's a no brainer!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff, January 18, 2012

I read other reviews about good fit and quality sound. Decided to try out a pair and they are as claimed...comfortable and very good sound. You can't go wrong with these headphones. In fact I plan to buy a second pair as a backup...always manage to lose mine at some point.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Value, No Answer Call Button, November 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Stereo Headset (Electronics)
Great in-ear headphones. Works well with Android HTC Evo 3D. Call quality OK, caller on other end said it is better than the sound when I am on speaker phone, not as good as talking in the phone normal.

There is no answer/hang-up button on microphone. Probably wouldn't have bought if noticed that. Small inconvenience. If had to make a lot of calls would not recommend. This is the only reason for 4 vs 5 stars.

Music sound is amazing for the price.

3.0 out of 5 stars I own 2 pairs; 1 pair is no good, September 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Stereo Headset (Electronics)
I have 2 pairs of these headphones. Pair 1 has a great balance of sound and powerful bass. Pair 2 is very thin sounding and the right earbud is significantly less powerful than the left. I am simply warning that the QA of this product may not be consistent in producing quality product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Earphones!, September 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Stereo Headset (Electronics)
These earphones are certainly great for the price! I was really quite amazed at the quality of sound I was hearing all the while, thinking how little I had paid for them! I've paid many times more for earphones that didn't sound as good as these did! Were is not for the good reviews I had seen, I would never have noticed these. I fully recommend these earphones to anyone looking for some earphones, but be ready to be surprised the moment you give these a listen.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice handsfree earbuds, tangle nightmare, August 23, 2011
This review is from: Stereo Headset (Electronics)
There is a lot to like about these hands free earphones. They are secure and comfortable in the ears, the sound is good (I am not an audiophile so look to other reviews for details on frequency) and I have never gotten complaints from people I am talking to about the microphone quality. These work great on my Motorola Droid, but they do not seem to be iPhone compatible, at any rate my iPod Touch does not recognize the microphone. My one annoyance is that the material the cords are made of are very high friction, tacky almost to the point of being sticky. This means to cords seem to get tangled almost the second you put them down and are very resistent to being untangled. This means if you want to answer the phone and put them in it is a great hassle. if you are driving forget it, you will die in a flaming pile up before you are half way done untangling them.
