Works Great,

This review is from: Motorola H721 Bluetooth Wireless Headset (Electronics)
I purchased this particular headset because I do not like ear plugs. This unit has a flat panel that rests against your ear. The noise cancellation feature works great. I can hear the phone conversation loud and clear. People tell me that they can hear me just fine, too. The only downside is that it needs to be charged frequently, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I recommend this product (and I'm very particular).

Noise Cancellation Needs a LOT of Improvement,
This review is from: Motorola H721 Bluetooth Wireless Headset (Electronics)
I recently purchased this earpiece for my fiance. She likes the earpiece and I can hear her very clearly on it. However there is a huge problem with the device. It has automatic noise cancellation and it is supposed to increase the volume automatically depending on the amount of background noise. When she is talking to me and opens her fridge or turns on her sink or throws away a piece of paper the earpiece amplifies the background noise so much that it sounds like it is going to blow out my eardrum. Instead of cancelling the background noise it amplifies it louder than her voice.

beyond convenient,

This is the second one of these I bought, after I sent the first one through the laundry (tip: not waterproof!). The fact that this will bind to 2 phones at the same time is why I bought it, and it didn't disappoint. Once paired, if either phone rings, that one "grabs" the connection to the H721, so pushing the button answers the right phone. This is just what I needed, since I have to carry 2 phones... one that's mine, and one for work. Calls are clear, and it's very comfortable. I wouldn't go jumping around or jogging while wearing it, but for normal walking and office time, it's secure enough. The only downside is for dialing when bound to 2 phones, it defaults to dialing the first phone paired if you initiate from the headset. If you use the handset to dial, it's no problem. Basically, whichever phone needs attention at the moment gets it.

Great bluetooth headset,

I have owned more than my share of headsets but this is my favorite. It's easy to get set up, easy to use, and has good sound quality. It's much better than other Motorola's -- and they offer a number of good Bluetooth headsets. Charge seems to last forever and recharge is fast.

I had the Motorola H710 prior to purchasing the H721 due to washing the other in my scrubs. The upgrades sounded fantastic; filtering background noise and auto volume. These features are a disaster. Instead of filtering out the noise it actually amplifies whatever is in the background. The auto volume is not any better. I find myself manually turning up the volume. Friends and family on the receiving end are always asking what is that static or excess noise coming through my bluetooth. Also, everyone states that it's hard for them to hear me while using the H721. I had much better results with the H710 vs. H721. The only thing that the H721 has going for it is the platinum (silver) color and that's it. Trust me do not waste your money. You'll come out better purchasing the more affordable H710 than buying this over-hyped and over charged merchandise. The platinum color is the only reason I rated it (2) stars. Again searching for a replacement.

When the first bluetooh was delivered it did not work. It would not charge. I got a RMA number and sent it back. In about 2 more weeks I got a replacement and so far it works as publicized.
Here's the rub. It cost me $3.85 to send the defective one back. I asked for a refund for the $3.85. After all, why should I have to pay to return a defective product that didn't work in the first place? Believe me, it's not the money but rather the principle. I still haven't received a check nor a credit to me credit card for the $3.85. I seriously doubt that I will do business with Amazon.com anymore. If they can't be trusted on the little things how can we trust them on the big things. It's the way you do business that keeps me coming back. I doubt they will let this be published but we'll see.

People Can Just Plain Hear You,

I was tickled to death to find this model on Amazon after the salesman at AT&T led me to believe that they were no longer manufactured (when they actually just quit carrying the model I guess) I ordered two, one as a replacement for my first one that I accidentally dropped in the driveway and it was destroyed.
Why am I ordering a two? because...the first worked so good that I'm afraid that they might actually quit making them and I wouldn't have one. I like them that much. They're so simple to turn on and off, just flip it open, it's on, flip it closed, it disconnects from the phone. Most important of all, people tell me that they have no problem hearing me, that it's as clear as a bell and I have no problem hearing them either.

Glad I ordered this ear piece. It works great and I got it at good rate. Can't beat that! I like being able to close it to turn it off and being able to open the boom mic to turn it on. It's also small enough to fit in my pocket- not bulky either. The sound is very clear. Definitely a good buy.

EDITED: Review changed from 2 to 5.
Below is my initial review of the H721. As I was getting ready to take it apart and see what it looks like inside (couldn't get it to work, didn't have return paperwork, and refuse to try to pawn off a bad product on anyone else), I saw to my horror that there was a small inconspicuous piece of small, clear plastic protective tape covering the microphone. Nooo... I peeled off the plastic, and tried the H721 again with my iPhone. It worked great! Apparently, this changed the noise cancellation ability, as the volume is now great, and received audio is reported good by friends on the other end. I have now been using it for awhile as my primary bluetooth, and have had not problems with it. Subjective observation is that it does indeed seem to cancel noise better than the H710 in my diesel pickup. I feel bad about my initial rating, but I do have to say that the little tiny plastic sticker on mine was very difficult to see (my story and I'm sticking to it! I was going to update my rating to a "4" due to this, but as the product itself really is good I decided to go with the "5". I did spend some cumulative hours flipping it open and closed, and wearing it without ever seeing it). My suggestion to the manufacturer would be to make it a bit more conspicuous to help avoid this problem. --------------------------------------------- I bought the H721 in order to replace my previous H710 which accidentally fell out of the car and got squashed. I liked the flip design, and figured that the "enhanced noise cancellation" would be an upgrade. Unfortunately though, my experiences with my new H721 were quite poor. The volume was significantly lower than my H710 had, and the received audio was so distorted that it was practically unusable. I drive a diesel pickup, which is louder than many other cars, but which really shouldn't be outside its design environment. Hopefully this unit was just an anomaly, as I see that it gets quite positive reviews. However, I felt I should provide this data point for the reference of others. I would have given this a "1" rating, as it was unusable for me, but at the last minute I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and at least bump it up to a "2", as I still do like the flip design and controls. In general, the Motorola hardware appearance and finish seem good, similar to the other Motorola flip earpieces. In the meantime, I'm going back to an H710, which I rate as highly positive.

I have used the H700 and H710 before but the H721 is way above both in terms of performance, quality, battery life and value. The noise cancelling feature provides sound clarity that matches those of the most expensive headsets.
