My first Bluetooth Headset,
By
This review is from: Motorola HS820 Bluetooth Headset - Gloss Black (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I purchased this headset to partner it with my Moto V600(tmobile) phone. After researching the Jabra freespeak, Epox bt 101, Moto Hs810, I decided on the Hs820 in black. Overall I am pleased with the performance of the headset. It was less costly than the other three, and mates with my handset very quickly with superior voice clarity. People I am conversing with rarely ever ask me if I am using a handsfree device. This headset does seem to pick up road noise and wind noise more than the hs810 (which I was fortunate enough to 'product test' from a tmobile store for a day), but is MUCH lighter and less idiotic looking on your ear.
It is bluetooth 1.2 compatible, so I suppose whenever 1.2 devices come out I will be able to take advantage of that. The battery life is very impressive. Talking an average of 60 min a day on my phone, with at least 30 of them spent using the bluetooth headset(which is usually on most of the day) it typically lasts me 4 days on a charge(I do turn it off at night). I am satisfied with this product and would recommend it to a first time bluetooth device user. *caveat emptor* The headset does not have an 'acknowledge' beep when you turn it on i.e. if you power it on while you're wearing it the only way to tell if it's on is if you press a volume button to hear the beep. Otherwise if you turn it on while not wearing it the very bright blue LED will be visible. It also doesn't come with a case or lanyard. I have resorted to throwing it in my pocket, but make sure it is off first and you don't have a lot of items in your pockets (scratches very easily).

Don't blame the headset - the echo problem might be your phone!,

After receiving and using this product a few days ago, I immediately received complaints about a 1 second echo. The software on my Moto E815 was the original firmware. Sources on the web suggested a newer firmware would fix the echo. I went to the local brick and mortars store, they upgraded the firmware, and now...no more echo.
The technician at the store also suggested, as I believe another review discovered, make sure that the listen volume on both the phone AND the headset are not at maximum; apparently this has something to do with disabling the echo cancellation!

It's not the best - but the best for the money.,

This headset only fits on your right ear. It has three buttons: a large round one in the middle of it's face to activate calling, and two smaller buttons straddling the piece that are for volume up and down. The large round button also functions as a redialer - if you press it and keep it pressed for about 2 seconds, it will redial the last number on your phone.
Charger - The charger has a different plug than other Motorola chargers, so you will not be able to use your phone's charger (that would've been nice). There is a nice thing about the charger though; the prongs fold into the charger, making it travel-friendly. Also, the charger accepts 100-240V input, so you will be able to use it internationally, with the proper prong adapter. PROS 1. Cheap 2. Easy to associate with your handset 3. When you are close to the handset (within 10 feet) it provides a decent speaker volume. 4. Travel-friendly charger 5. Good speaker volume and no "robotic-voice" effect. Many people said they prefer hearing my conversation through this headset rather than direct through the phone. CONS 1. Doesn't latch onto your ear securely. You can't jog with this on. Also, because it rests fairly far from your ear canal, you sometimes feel you have to press it against your head to hear properly. Only a problem when outside and wind blows between your ear and the headset. 2. Begin hearing static about 10 feet away from handset. It will maintain a connection up to 25 feet or so, but develops too much static to be useful beyond 10 feet. 3. You must charge it every night (but that's pretty much a given for most current bluetooth headsets) 4. There is no temporary disconnect feature. To disconnect it, you have to go through your phone's menu. That means you have to go through the process of reassociating it when you want to use it again. This was not bad as my first bluetooth headset, but as the prices of others are falling, this will no longer be a bargain.

I was looking for a headset for my Motorola RAZR and decided that for the price, I had to give the Motorola HS820 Bluetooth Headset. Personally, I think I made an excellent decision.
The headset was extremely easy to pair with the phone. I mostly use the headset in the car or around the house, when I need my hands free. In these environments, I've had no complaints about the sound quality on either end of the call. The ear piece fits outside your ear rather than resting inside, which can feel a little disconcerting at first. In 2 weeks of daily use, however, I've never had the earpiece fall off. I also love that I can rest my phone on a counter in one room of the house and not worry about losing signal between the headset and the phone. All in all, this $30 headset has fulfilled all my functional requirements and then some. My only complaint would be that their is no indicator to tell you how much battery power is left at any given time. Just all of a sudden the phone will complain of a weak signal from the headset and switch the call to the handset instead. There are more stylish Bluetooth headsets out there, but for $30, this is a great buy.

ECHO ECHO EVERYWHERE,
By
This review is from: Motorola HS820 Bluetooth Headset - Gloss Black (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Bought this unit to get rid of the dangling cord I use to attach to my verizon phone. When it was time to renew and I got my new verizon I was convinced by the salesman that this new bluetooth wireless unit was the way to go. I agreed. EVERYONE complains that there is an echo. They can hear an echo of their voice. A real nuisance. From the receiving end it is an excellent unit I can hear who ever I am talking to loud an clear. But the other end is just a bummer. I would not buy this unit until either verizon or motorola figure out why this happens. Very disatisfied.

HS820: A Decent Bluetooth Accessory,
By
This review is from: Motorola HS820 Bluetooth Headset - Gloss Black (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I was looking to exploit the Bluetooth feature of my new Nextel i870, so after reading some reviews on the HS820 & HS850 I decided on the HS820. I was able to save a substantial amount of money by purchasing on Ebay over other online retailers, but this is an individual choice. Now on to my review:
Pros: - lightweight so it's not annoying sitting on your ear. - battery life is very good. - no problem with echo's as others have stated, good sound. - one button design is easy to use. - can purchase for reasonable price when compared with competition. Cons: - kind of looks like a big cockroach on your ear. - occasionally mysteriously drops the connection with my phone. - does not fit very securely; if actively moving about it flops. - voice dial recognition function is mediocre at best; forget it if the environment is anything but silent. - volume should be able to go a bit louder for noisy environments. I will probably hold onto this headset for at least a year, but would like to get one that is a bit more secure and offers better voice dialing. Otherwise it is a fine choice for the cost.

This is my first bluetooth headset to link with my Motorola V551. I was amazed by the quality. I did not have any problem with the sound. Was pleaseantly surprised when tried the voice activated calling. No hasles at all. I mostly use it while driving my car. I love this product.
Pros: Great Sound. Does not fall off easily. Fits perfectly. Amazing voice activated calling. The blue light didnt bother me as someone here suggested. Cons : Turning it on and off is still not too easy. May be I will grow into it.

I just recieved my HS820 BT. I bought it after some window shopping the different brands. I found that the Motorola BT headsets have been rated fairly well. So when i saw this one at the incredible price(much lower than anywhere else, that ive seen), i jumped all over it. I have to say that pairing the headset was extremely painless. I have a LG LX350 and i can hear and be heard very well. But make sure you adjust the headset volume on your phone as well as using the little silver buttons on the headset itself. After i did this i had no problem hearing anyone. I have tested the device only to about 15 ft and it seems to perform really well. Overall i think this is a great buy! 100% recomended.

Initially i was little hesitant to buy this headset after reading some review comments on echo issue. However i thought of giving a try and now i do not have any regrets in buying this headset. It is stylish, light-weighted, good fit and no echo issues till now. Even while driving i didn't find any difficulty in using this headset.
