Very light, easy to use, "stylish", November 2, 2004
This review is from: Motorola HS820 Bluetooth Headset - Teal (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I placed "stylish" in quotes because every time I use this headset I feel self-conscious. It looks a bit like a communication device from a 70's-era sci-fi film. This is made all the worse by a flashing blue LED on the exterior of the unit. But if you can get past that...
Man, what a cool toy. It's extremely light, so it just hangs over your ear unintrusively. I initially thought that it was a bit gratuitous to spend so much for a wireless headset when I could get a traditional one for so cheap. But the sound quality is far better than any "wired" headset I've used in the past, and the listeners on the other end seem to have a much easier time understanding me. The freedom from wires is especially welcome. Setup was painless, but I do have a Motorola phone, so perhaps my experience isn't representative of what users of other bluetooth phones might witness.
My only other complaint is that you have to carry an additional charger when traveling if you want to charge your phone and headset at the same time. Since the headset uses the same charger as my phone, I could presumably do with just one charger, but I'd have to remember to change out devices (the headset charges in about 2 hours). Since I always charge while I'm sleeping, this would never happen, so two chargers it is.
In summary, the pros easily outweigh the cons for this device, so I give it five stars.

Best thing for BT cell phones, November 8, 2004
This review is from: Motorola HS820 Bluetooth Headset - Teal (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I never thought I would spend $70 for a headset, but had to get this toy for my BT motorola phone. All i can say is WOW!! I put this light earpiece on and forget about it. Calls are easy to answer (and make if you have voice dial) with the push of one button on the earpiece. Imagine you are trying to juggle files, food, or pay a cashier when your phone rings. you just hit one button and speak while both hands are free. Volume and clarity are excellent and I use this mostly on my drive on a loud highway.
You do get a lot of looks from people wondering why you are talking to yourself. Great Product and technology!!!

Great Buy!!!, February 16, 2005
This review is from: Motorola HS820 Bluetooth Headset - Teal (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Strengths:
Good volume and clarity on both sides.
Simple function
Long battery life
Weaknesses:
Crackling with weak BT connection, rare connection drop.
I paired the HS820 with Motorola V551 which I returned and Nokia 6230 which I have now. (I returned V551 for wanting the calling card functionality hoping 6230 has it. Unfortunately it doesn't)
Voice Quality - I think the HS820 works better with the 6230 than V551. Good clarity, voice dialing works flawlessly and can even hear MP3 and video sound through the headset. Pairing is easy and effortless with both phones.
Look and Feel - Its pretty nice and looks space age. The feel is of a very good make and does not seem a cheap work at all.
The Blue Light - Some people have mentioned in their reviews that the blue light blinks continously but its not true. It stops blinking when no activity is detected for 5 mins. Also there is a way to turn it off before a call.
Fitting - Could have been better but is not bad at all. People with smaller earlobes could have a problem. I consider myself having an average sized earlobe an need some adjustment from time to time. Have to be careful while wearing jackets or hood, especially if your ears are numb cause of cold or somethin. But this is probably true for other headsets too.
