Very light, easy to use, "stylish",
By
This review is from: Motorola HS820 Bluetooth Headset - Teal (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I placed "stylish" in quotes because every time I use this headset I feel self-conscious. It looks a bit like a communication device from a 70's-era sci-fi film. This is made all the worse by a flashing blue LED on the exterior of the unit. But if you can get past that...
Man, what a cool toy. It's extremely light, so it just hangs over your ear unintrusively. I initially thought that it was a bit gratuitous to spend so much for a wireless headset when I could get a traditional one for so cheap. But the sound quality is far better than any "wired" headset I've used in the past, and the listeners on the other end seem to have a much easier time understanding me. The freedom from wires is especially welcome. Setup was painless, but I do have a Motorola phone, so perhaps my experience isn't representative of what users of other bluetooth phones might witness. My only other complaint is that you have to carry an additional charger when traveling if you want to charge your phone and headset at the same time. Since the headset uses the same charger as my phone, I could presumably do with just one charger, but I'd have to remember to change out devices (the headset charges in about 2 hours). Since I always charge while I'm sleeping, this would never happen, so two chargers it is. In summary, the pros easily outweigh the cons for this device, so I give it five stars.

Best thing for BT cell phones,
This review is from: Motorola HS820 Bluetooth Headset - Teal (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I never thought I would spend $70 for a headset, but had to get this toy for my BT motorola phone. All i can say is WOW!! I put this light earpiece on and forget about it. Calls are easy to answer (and make if you have voice dial) with the push of one button on the earpiece. Imagine you are trying to juggle files, food, or pay a cashier when your phone rings. you just hit one button and speak while both hands are free. Volume and clarity are excellent and I use this mostly on my drive on a loud highway.
You do get a lot of looks from people wondering why you are talking to yourself. Great Product and technology!!!

Great Buy!!!,

Strengths:
Good volume and clarity on both sides. Simple function Long battery life Weaknesses: Crackling with weak BT connection, rare connection drop. I paired the HS820 with Motorola V551 which I returned and Nokia 6230 which I have now. (I returned V551 for wanting the calling card functionality hoping 6230 has it. Unfortunately it doesn't) Voice Quality - I think the HS820 works better with the 6230 than V551. Good clarity, voice dialing works flawlessly and can even hear MP3 and video sound through the headset. Pairing is easy and effortless with both phones. Look and Feel - Its pretty nice and looks space age. The feel is of a very good make and does not seem a cheap work at all. The Blue Light - Some people have mentioned in their reviews that the blue light blinks continously but its not true. It stops blinking when no activity is detected for 5 mins. Also there is a way to turn it off before a call. Fitting - Could have been better but is not bad at all. People with smaller earlobes could have a problem. I consider myself having an average sized earlobe an need some adjustment from time to time. Have to be careful while wearing jackets or hood, especially if your ears are numb cause of cold or somethin. But this is probably true for other headsets too.

Best of the Bluetooth headsets,

This is the current best of the bunch. It is just the right size and weight. It was also very easy to setup and has excellent audio quality. I use it with the V710 and my Dell X30 pda. I use it when working out and driving and love it.

I only bought a Bluetooth so it would be easier to talk on the phone when I'm in my car. I've had it for over a month and still have no complaints. The ear-piece fits fine. The sound quality is good. I always leave it on and so far battery life seems pretty good - I only have to charge it every 3-4 days. So overall, I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend to others.

I just got this unit for the holidays. So far, so good. My cell phone, laptop, and palm pilot all recognized and were able to pair up with the unit. The earpiece volume could be a tad louder. I had to turn my stereo off so I could hear the person on the other line. I am happy with my first BT headset. --
UPDATE - My headset has recently died. Over the duration of a few months it would take several attempts to get the head set to connect to my cell phone, but it eventually would. A few months ago I got a Treo 700 and now it will connect at all. My cell phone won't even recognize it. Now I just have an expensive paper weight.

THis bluetooth works very well, I used to have one years ago and the battery died but could not find a way to replace battery. Tried a newer Motorola H700 and other brands too but found most people complained that I sounded muffled on other end.
HS820 works very well on hearing and sending, not as convient shutting off or turning on as a flip bluetooth but it has very good range > 30' and does not distort when you walk away from it. Highly recommend

I love this product, but sadly, it has not worked as hoped with the TREO 650
I have heard that it works great with Moto phones However, I think that both the Moto 810 and Moto 850 have better volumes, and are both more comfortable and lighter, than this unit If you must have Moto, then grab a Moto 810 or Moto 850 If you want the best, grab a Cardo Scala 500 -- the best bluetooth device for your Treo 650 |
