I bought this little guy almost a year ago, I always buy Motorola because others tend to break on me and this one has really held its own. My last attempt to kill it was this summer when I was taking a corner a little too fast, it was sitting on the dash of my car, on one of those sticky pads that is suppose to keep it in place while you drive, but it didn't and my phone went flying out of my passenger window and on to the side of the road. I pulled over, walked back to my phone, fully expecting to find it in pieces or, at the very least, not working at all. When I got to it, it was ringing! My daughter was calling me, I answered it and told her what had just happened. This little guy was barely even scratched! I LOVE MY LITTLE MOTOROLA KARMA!

First let me say, I am a hardcore fan of all products Motorola.
That being said, I purchased a Karma under a year ago and until the past couple weeks have loved the phone. Recently anything mechanical that could go wrong with it has. The screen half of the phone that slides over the keyboard has come unfastened from the frame that is supposed to hold it in place. The phone still turns on and makes calls but has become a bit unpredictable in signal strength since it has started to fall apart. As soon as it the problem started it all went down hill rather quickly.
If you're a gentle phone user and work in a controlled environment then this is a great device. If you work with your hands or are active and on the go a lot this poor thing may not hold up to your lifestyle. Proceed with caution of you're in the market for a durable phone.

It is a very good and modern phone. I have always used Motorola and was looking for a modern device with internet access, a BB keyboard and a modern desing. Just perfect!

Bought this phone because its a Motorola. Also bought a Motorola bluetooth device at the same time. Can't say enough about this phone and it't merits. 1st off it has a sensitive antenna. 2nd it is easy to navigate through all the files you will use day in and day out. It is one of the few phones in the market that uses a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Bought a USB sync cable online and followed the onscreen prompts on my desktop computer and loaded 50 to 60 songs into my Micro SD card(2gig) Using a pair of noise-cancellation headphones with this phone to answer calls, playing music is the bomb! Voice call clarity on both ends is unsurpassed using either the phone's speaker or the blue tooth device is Mawvelous! Don't let this phones small footprint deceive you....it is very rugged and will not disappoint the user in any way. Right now listening to "Welcome to the Machine" by Pink Floyd while typing this review. Battery life is very good if you use both the included battery or purchase a 1150milli amp hour battery online. I have a charged spare battery ready at all times. Fun device for every day use.

Purchased the unlocked Motoroka Karma world phone. Was not able to get it to work properly even after I had spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone with ATT &T trying to help. Now it sits in the box in my closet. A total waste of money.

I've had Motorola Karma since March of 2010. I drop my phone all the time and it still works, if you looked at it, it will look brand new. The battery could be longer i wish, when i text it last for 3 hours for me. This phone is fantastic for AT&T. Motorola phones are the way to go.

It says directly in the description that this phone is compatible with T-Mobile. Well apparently it ISN'T because I can't get internet on it and it won't send or receive images.
I spent hours dealing with T-mobile tech support and they never heard of the phone, don't have any information in their database about it, and could not solve the problem for me. So I'm stuck with an incredibly basic phone that only texts and makes calls. That's a lot of money to spend on a phone with the most basic capabilities.

I have a Motorola Karma with an AT&T 2-year plan. This phone is built like a brick. The casing is a metal alloy that goes full circle around the up-sliding portion of the phone. It has a standard head-phone jack and an internal Micro SD card slot. Because it was a new phone for me, I dropped it MANY times in the process of getting adjusted to holding it since I previously had a flip phone. It has acted up a few times directly after dropping it, but it would always shortly rebound back to its normal performance. This phone has replaced my MP3 player and has many convenient settings. The screen and display looks crystal clear and is difficult to scratch. The buttons on the full QWERTY key board are separated making it easier to type with fewer errors. I often travel on weekends without my wall charger because the phone holds its charge very well, especially since I am continuously playing music with it. I wish AT&T were still advertising it and promoting it. At the time, it was the second highest rated phone of the year next to the Samsung Solstice. Two of my family members purchased Samsung Solstices and are now complaining about battery life and complexity if not simply wishing that they had my Motorola Karma. The software my Karma uses is very user friendly. The whole reason I am on this page and saw the opportunity to make a review is the fact that I am looking to see if I might possibly be able to just replace my old Motorola Karma with a second one, just in case I don't find a new model that is comparable once my contract runs out and the phone possibly breaks down like any other phone after so much time and beating.

Hey All,

Have had a Motorola Karma now for about 6 Months and while it is a decent smart phone, it's bells and whistles do not make up for the following:

-it's operating systems are out of date
-it is not durable.

I've never done anything particularly hard to this guy, other than the usual hustle and bustle and today the top portion ceased to function. The LCD screen went black, the Make and End call LEDS and cursers all stopped working, and I stand to potentially lose 150 or so contacts unless I can find a repair shop who can get top portion back on the road.

It also could never sync with my email, only use yahoo as a third party to check emails I had forwarded to a dummy account. I asked our IT consultant at work for assistance and he was baffled.

Don't get me wrong the bells and whistles are nice, but don't get this if you hope to have it for a long time.
