heres a quick story....
i called Verizon and told them about a problem with my current phone and the representive said i was able to receive a discount on a new phone. did i wanna get a new phone? i said there arent any good phones i like out there, I told him i like the touch phones but i only like flip phones so i never got a touch one, he then told me that they just came out a couple weeks ago with a brand new flip touch phone, i was like "no way!!" so i went to their website and checked it out. They have a "no risk guarantee" so i decided to get it, and....I LOVE IT!! the things i hate are #1, they charge you for the visual voicemail because that was one of the BIG selling points when the rep. told me about the Krave (but didnt mention they charge you) i think that really sucks, #2 there are NO features on the camcorder and phone, just zoom...thats it!! and #3 the shortcuts when the lid is down are not useful for me, there is V-CAST TV, which i dont want or need, MY MUSIC, which isnt real useful cause i have a Ipod and dont need music, NAVIGATOR, i own a GPS in my car so i dont need it and PICS which is the only thing i use, and #4 the camcorder is kinda crappy looking, very pixelated i mean but other then the things i mentioned above, it is a AWESOME phone and so glad i got it, its bright, the touch screen is pretty acurate and the speaker is AMAZINg, loud and very crisp sponding. the only problem i found is that since its such a new phone, Verizon doesnt have the GET IT NOW software available so you cant download ringtones, at least thats what the guy in the store told me when i went to question why i couldnt download ringtones. IT GETS MY VOTE.....GO GET IT!!

Absurdly slow,
This review is from: Nokia 2600 Phone, Black (AT&T) (Wireless Phone)
My roughly 3 year old phone was finally due for a replacement because it had started 'freezing'. I wanted something basic and reliable, and this looked like it would fit the bill. The phone is basic, which I think is good. However, it is ridiculously slow. For example there is a delay of about 3 seconds between pressing the 'menu' button and the menu showing up! I honestly can't believe that basic functions on Nokia's entry-level phones seem to have become slower over the last several years.

Motorola has hit one out of the park with the Krave Z4N. I debtated buying this phone for more than a month -- so it was not an impulse buy the way phone buying has typically been for me. I read up on this one and was ultimately impressed enough to give it a try, and I am glad I did. The touch screen is not only beautiful, but highly accurate. The only times I have missed touching the right number or letter were when I was getting used to the sidelong orientation of the flip when opened to the left (for texting using the vitual qwerty) -- this is not at all a fatal flaw in the phone's design. You really do adjust to it with practice and it becomes second nature. It doesn't matter if your fingers are huge or tiny, you don't have to touch hard to make things happen. I even suspect that this phone is psychic, as I swear sometimes I only have to think of hitting a letter and it works. :)
Ringtones are no problem. Just edit your own clips (I use Audacity with the LAME mp3 encoder) and save them as mp3s about 20 - 28 seconds long. Use a microSD card to move it from your PC to the phone, then send it to yourself as a picture message. Upon opening the file, touch its icon and you have the option to save it, or SAVE AS RINGTONE. Ta-da. Works with any song, unless copy protected from having been purchased through the iTunes store before they liberated their tracks. This phone is my "instead of an iPhone" phone. Sure, no WIFI, but you don't need it because Verizon's high speed network saturates the air everywhere I have been anyway. Really, a beautiful phone with great features.

I went from the Samsung Glyde to the Motorola Krave. Hands down, best touch screen phone I have used. I love the fact that the touch screen is not heat sensitive. Makes a big difference believe it or not. I have played with it like it is a toy. It is sleek, modern and easy to use. The only phone I would trade this for is when they come up with the replacement that out does the Krave. Couldn't be more satisfied. Go out and buy or try. You will not be disappointed.

I believe that touch screen is the future for electronics whether they be phones, computers, or mp3s but with that said touch screens are very hard to get right. A perfect example of this is the new phone i just purchased the Motorola Krave! All things about this phone screams awesomeness but its aesthetically pleasing design is where the fun times end. It is so poorly organized and confusing on the inside it is almost enough to make you scream ( and i have at times) The buttons on the touch screen are not only close together but at times completely oblivious to what button you are pushing. Another annoying little feature about it is its tendency to freeze up like a computer running windows 98! This is especially true when trying to text! Let me say this in caps for everyone IF YOU ARE A TEXTER STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONE! YOU WILL REGRET IT! its tendency to freeze basically puts all your texts on hold while your phone trys to decypher what the h@ll you are trying to do.
I hate this phone and i will try to return it as possible... but hey it looks nice.

Most reviews of this phone on the web are neutral to negative, and I don't get it. This phone is solid, never crashed or froze like some have reported. The full size headphone jack is awesome. Looks nice, the case doesn't scratch very easy. Camera takes 1600x1200 pictures. The wall charger is tiny.
Once I read the manual, and got used to where to touch, I don't think I will ever go back to a "normal" phone. The screen is big, bright and attention getting. The speakerphone, call and voice quality are top notch. VZ navigator, visual voice mail and Vcast TV are surprisingly good. In my opinion the horizontal tap keyboard is better than the iphone and the storm. It seems to get less errors. Things that could be better. No thin aftermarket case, just those stupid belt holsters. No flash or mirror on the camera. Read the manual, some things are impossible to "learn" without reading.

I got this phone from an AT&T store for $40 and a 2year contract. I got ripped off. I could have gotten it from AT&T on the net for free!! The Bluetooth is problematical, some times it works with my Jawbone and some times it doesn't. It has a camera, but the AT&T manual that came with it is useless, it is 32 pages long, with very small and blurry pictures. There are 5 bad pictures showing how to remove the back, and battery, to install the Sim card, no mention of how difficult it is to get the back off. Another picture shows where to plug in the power brick, all you can make out is a black rectangle and a blurry little plug pointed at the black rectangle, there are three holes in that black rectangle. I thought that AT&T had just printed a bad manual, but even though the Nokia manual is twice the size it is just as bad.
The manual from Nokia is 65 pages, and under "Media" it does have instructions on how to take a picture, but they are wrong. no mention on how to view the pictures that you have taken. After spending much time I discovered, with no help from either manual, how to Bluetooth the pictures to my computer. Grainy pictures is the best it can do. You can barley hear the speaker phone, and it can't be switch on until the party you are calling picks up. All in all for a Nokia phone it's well beneath their usually high standards. And I don't recommend it.

I agree with some of the reviews. This phone is nothing but junk. I was excited at first because it was a touch screen, tv, music and etc. But having this phone less than a month the phone has been exchange out four times with verizon. The screen was always freezing up. Texting was horrible. Always touching the wrong letters. It didn't recognize when texting. The phone would shut off by itself and then I would have to restart the phone up. Then it got to the point I was not able to hear anything on the phone. The phone wouldn't ring, stop connecting to my bluetooth, people would call and I couldn't hear them but they could hear me. I would not recommend this phone to anyone. Skip this phone. Motorola still needs to work on this.

I'm going to pony up the extra money and get another phone, even though I've got a year and a half to go until eligible for an upgrade. That's how bad this phone is. Half the time you might as well close your eyes and stab at the screen with your fingers, because the touch screen tends to ignore where your finger actually goes. After using the touch system on my iPod touch, I thought this would be the way to go, but obviously Motorola hasn't worked out the implementation of touch like Apple has. It's too bad, because the form factor is very good, and everything else seems to work pretty well on the phone. I find myself yelling at the phone at least once per day.

touch screen does not actually register being touched, you get a finger near a button and it will accept it, which is fine for say a media button. but for a text, it means you will as often hit the outlining buttons as the one you are attempting to hit, likewise for dialing. and if you use a fingernail or a stylus it will not register at all as if it was some type of thermal register rather than a standard touch screen.
