Amazon.com Product Description

Need to trim down? The Motorola L6i is the answer. This stylish, quad-band world phone has more than just great looks, with features like Bluetooth, mobile email, a speakerphone, voice dialing, a camera, and more. Offering a nearly identical feature set to the Motorola SLVR L6, the L6i includes an integrated FM radio. Now you can have a skinny phone that's big on the features that make your life easier.

This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides quad-band connectivity (850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz). It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider.

Nicely thin, the SLVR L6i measures just 0.41 inches thin (11.5mm).
Design
At less than a half-inch thick, the L6i features a large 128 x 160-pixel color display with 65,000 colors that resides above the handset's backlit control pad. Most of the phone's menus and features are controlled by a circular control pad just above the numeric keypad. Up/down buttons are placed on the left side, and there's also a highly accessible mini-USB port on the right side of the phone for data synchronization. The VGA camera unit is placed on the back of the phone.

Calling Features
The L6i's internal phone book can hold up to 500 contacts. The phone also supports polyphonic ringtones as well as MP3-based ringers, allowing you to use portions of your favorite songs to alert you to incoming calls. It's compatible with polyphonic ringtones, and there's a vibrating alert for times when you want to be discreet. Picture and ringer ID functions let you assign photos or ringtones to incoming callers, while a voice dialing feature lets you call your contacts by speaking to the phone. Plus, a built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear.

Because the L6i is Bluetooth enabled, wireless headsets can be configured with the phone for total hands-free operation.

Messaging, Internet, and Tools
The L6i is a messaging and wireless Internet powerhouse. Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, and sound via messages. Instant messaging is supported via AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, and ICQ, and the phone also ships with a built-in email client. Plus, there's a wireless Web browser for mobile web browsing. iTap text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit-- a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.

A number of handy software tools are bundled with the L6i, including a calculator, a calendar, and an alarm clock. Use the phone's Bluetooth capability to set up a wireless link with a Bluetooth accessory or connect to a computer or hand-held device to exchange and synchronize data.

Imaging and Entertainment
The L6i's built-in camera is ready to take 640 x 480 pictures whenever you need to--so you're always ready to capture life's unexpected moments. You can even capture 15-second videos with the camera. The phone also supports custom graphics for wallpapers so you can dress it up to suit your mood.

Vital Statistics
The Motorola L6i weighs 2.82 ounces and measures 4.33 x 1.93 x 0.41 inches (113.5mm x 49mm x 11.5mm). Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 5.8 hours of digital talk time, and up to 380 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS frequencies.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money, April 21, 2008
This review is from: Motorola SLVR L6i Unlocked Cell Phone with Camera--International Version with No Warranty (Dark Roast) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I ordered this product to replace a phone my daughter broke.. when it arrived it was blue.. which I needed a phone so I didn't care.. and then I turned it on and found that is a Motorola China.. which could not be activated where I live.. and was programed to work in chinese. so I had to send it back.. I paid 12 dollars to send it back and J&R ( the comapany in NY where the phone was shipped from) would not give me a full refund.. and then it is only a store credit.. in which, I would never buy anything from there again to start with. very very dissatisfied

2.0 out of 5 stars phone was good, service because of the phone....awful, December 18, 2007
This review is from: Motorola SLVR L6i Unlocked Cell Phone with Camera--International Version with No Warranty (Dark Roast) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I purchased this phone as a replacement for my slvr L2. it has better features...camera,new sleek look, added software. i fully charged it. inserted my sim card, and everything was working fine until i tried to place a call. I found i could place calls but shortly after connecting it would drop the call. so after contacting tech support they said i needed to get a new sim card and it might fix the problem. so i drive 15 mins down the road and get a new sim card just to find out that it doesnt change anything, still having dropped calls. in the end ATT said that it was the phone and it was most likley due to the fact that it was unlocked. ill never buy a unlocked phone again. as far as the phone itsself it worked fine, however im happy that i already had a motorola charger because the one that was sent in the box with the phone was european. i ended up sending it back to mobilecity and only getting a fraction of what i paid for it, due to the dumb restocking fee. so to cut this short, make sure your service provider supports unlocked phones before purchasing!!

I had no trouble when installing my SIM card and generally it works fine, but I've had problems at times with it refusing to turn on. After removing and reinserting the battery it worked ok. I'm not thrilled with the tiny number buttons and the backlight doesn't stay on long enough during certain procedures. I would not buy this type of phone again.
