It was surprising that they worked well enough for our cruise! They seemed to work 90% of the time. We had an issue from the very top of the ship and trying to contact family in the 2nd. deck infirmary location. They didn't work well, maybe due to the confined location and distance! We heard some clicking and garbled response but otherwise they were very good overall.

One was used by my five year old, had to just tell her to hold the button in when she talked, two year old dropped in toilet, smashed on ground LCD screen popped out, went right back in, and still working great. Did have to let dry after toilet incident.

Yes it does. My suggestion would be to plug it in while using it, then unplug just before you take them out. The charger will last longer that way.

Very easy. Just follow the directions provided with the units and you will have battery access in a jiffy.

No, you can control the volume very easily and with very little static. These units have worked very well for us.

In the users guide it does say that you can use it hands free. You activate iVOX. You can also purchase optional headset accessories. It comes with information on headset accessories and model numbers.

If you put them all on the same channel, you can talk with each other. You just select a little used channel. Not sure what you mean by "connected together". Hope that helps.

Yes, works with AAA. They give you a rechargeable pack (which is wrapped up AAA rechargeable) but you can just use plain old AAA. No complaints.
