It's all about cost vs performance,

I am a Palm Treo 600 user, and my Treo broke down so I bought this. I have only had this phone for two days, so I will follow up in a month. The phone is remarkably small and light. The build quality is only fair at best. The hinge feels flimsy, and the tabs that hold the battery cover on are VERY weak. I get the feeling that a fall from any height would break something off, but I don't know yet, My Treo survived once a month falls for years with no problems other than a scuff. The screen is BEAUTIFUL and clear, much better than my Treo's, and the external screen is useful, but it shuts off, showing no information, after five seconds or so. Its a Windows phone and has no touch screen, but it has a lot of functions and the pictures are good. for half the Treo's price, and no contract, it's a buy.One month later: What matters most to me is 1: the phone function itself - this phone is excellent as a phone - nice and loud with a decent speaker-phone and loud ringers. 2: a device to read my books on. - After a LOT of searching, I found a freeware reader, Orneta Reader, that I can use to read text files on the phone with. Overall, I'm very happy - excellant phone, decent web-browser, I can READ on it, and it's SMALL and LIGHT and UNLOCKED. No wonder the telephone providers killed it.

Great phone. everything was well thought out. It is big and heavy though so you can call it a "Man's" phone. It's not for these men or women walking around tryin to be all cute - it looks like a brick. But thats exactly why I love it (its my style i guess). As of now it has gone to the scrap yard though because the flex cable linking the phone body to the flip screen gets damaged easily. (I've owned 2 MPX220's and both had the same damaged flexcable issue in 6-8 months after a brand new purchase). So I would say if youre a technician and you can buy 3 or 4 extra flex cables, go with this phone.
