This adapter works very well. I used it to convert a long heavy-gauge USB cable to MicroUSB for my phone because the stock cable was too short. The adapter fits snugly onto a standard MiniUSB end. The included lanyard fits around a standard MiniUSB end and keeps the adapter on hand when it isn't in use.

I am used to recharge my devices while at the car. I always carry a charger for iPod or iPhone and a charger for mini USB devices like my Nextel radio. Lately the new models have a MicroUSB input but so far I have nor found a MicroUSB-USB cable to recharge so this adapter cable is the answer for me. It has a convenient loop to wrap around the end of the Mini USB so you will not loose it. Now I can charge my Nextel with the miniUSB and my Bluetooth speakers with the microUSB adapter. Hope it works for you too.

The usb adapter was great...I even loved the little tether attched to it, since I use the same cord to charge a TomTom navigation unit and my bluetooth headset, it kept the adapter close all the time, but after a week, it won't make good contact with the bluetooth headset. Now it's useless.

I bought this adapter primarily so I could charge my Droid at work. My work cell phone is also Motorola but have Mini-USB plugs. This adapter works for syncing the phone as well, so I can use one of my old usb cables and not have to buy another full size cable. I have enough Mini-USB cables lying around anyway.

It should be noted that this is a USB mini to Micro-A adapter. Most newer devices use a USB micro-B connector. Did not know there were 2 types of micro usb connectors until I received this adapter and found the very slight but very important difference!
I only gave it a 4 star rating since this info should be noted in the description.

If you have a micro-A connector this is the adapter for you!

So I have purchased +6 of these over the last 12 months from Amazon. It you use them for your desktop only (stationary office) they work very well - I have never had a problem with the item used in that setting. But if you use them for your car charger or other mobile device count on it working 1-3 months. And for me, I'm one of those people who still has the plastic cover on a new product to protect it after 3 months - so I take care of my products. But to get back to the point, the adapter seems to get a short at one of the end connectors, then you have to hold the cord in a certain position to get it working again. It was a great idea for a product but I'm disappointed with the long-term reliability.

Charges and transfers data, I couldn't ask for more. The cord is handy for loss prevention too. It arrived in a reasonable amount of time also. I wished I would have ordered 2 of them.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do; allow you to use one of your numerous (more than likely) mini-usb cables with your micro-usb device. The one absurd thing would be the packaging it came in... just huge for such a small thing. Beyond that? Just fine.

I have 4 wall and 2 car mini USB chargers. I hate tossing usable devices, so I ordered three micro USB adapters to try. They work for charging and data on all my mini USB cables and chargers - Motorola and cheap brand X. I'm sold and ordered five more - money well spent.

Update 1/11/11: Ordered five more and they arrived in three days! All work for charge and data.

This adapter is simple and money-saving. Just upgraded from a regular cell phone to a smart phone. Instead of throwing away my mini-USB chargers and buying all-new micro-USB chargers, I bought a few of these simple adapters.

They work great. Absolutely no difference between this option and a brand-new micro-USB chargers!

Works with ANY phone (and any cell provider) that needs a micro-USB connector (if you already have a mini-USB charger)...not just Motorola / Verizon. Works with Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, and other provider's phones, too.
