The good: It plants pretty far into the ear. The plus sides are it's a snug fit (you won't have to worry about it falling out with normal usage), you can hear very well, it's very small and light.
The bad: Since it's so small you can lose it very easily. That's no fault of motorola, but something you should be aware of. Now the major bad... this picks up all kinds of background noise, whether it's there or not. If you're in a crowded room then forget it. However even if you're in a quiet room, then there's all kinds of background noise such as buzzing and what not. I'm not sure how the headset is picking up sound and I don't care. It's picking up extra sound, even if it isn't there. This is for you if you don't want to have conversations and are only checking voicemail. Otherwise.....

Good Cool Factor - But Revising My Rating,
By
This review is from: Motorola Miniblue H9 Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I originally gave this 4 stars, mainly due to the looks and unique style. After wearing it for about a week, and continually being told that my voice sounded muffled, plus the wearing discomfort that I just couldn't get used to, I returned the H9 for a refund today. It is cool looking, but if you use your bluetooth for hours a day as I do, it's just not practical, maybe 2 stars......Original review follows***** I bought this mostly to make one of my co-workers envious, and should do the trick, as this is one of the most unique looking bluetooth headsets on the market. The fact that it picks up your voice through the ear canal is pretty neat, and seems to cut down on ambient noise. The portion that fits in the ear is slightly curved so you may need to rotate the external part to get the best fit. Mine fits best with the "M" facing sideways. My biggest complaint is once you achieve the seal recommended in the instructions, it feels sort of like you have your finger stuck in your ear, but I seem to be getting accustomed to it. All in all, not the most comfortable I've ever used (and I've used a lot), but tolerable, and one of the best performers, and least noticeable.

Great sound and comfort, but short talk time.,
By DJ "DJ" (Georgetown, TX) - See all my reviews The description online says up to 7 hours or so, but what it didn't state in detail is that it lasts that long only by using it with the charger. I was on a call for 1.5 hours and it started to die on me. I checked some other website and they do say that the earpiece lasts 1.5 hours and can be used for up to 7 hours with the charger. If I'm on a call for longer than 1.5 hours or have used it before a long call, it will not last. What is the point of having a handsfree headset if you need to switch to your phone, while you recharge the headset? I'll know better when I go to return this headset for one with a longer, continuous talk time. The talk time is my only complaint. I would love this headset if it had a talk time of at least 4 continuous hours.

Star Trek it is NOT,

At first glance this looks like a great idea, but the reality is that inserting this device in one's ear reduces the ability to carry on personal conversations when not in use and it also becomes uncomfortable in a vert short time. The incoming call quality is good, but everyone I call comments (complains) that they are unable to hear me or the quality is so bad that I have to call them back after I disable the device and use my handset, which defeats the purpose of this purchase.
I do NOT recommend this product, and at the current list price please select another product, you will be happier for it.

The negatives outweigh the positives,

This headset has some good features, but the bad ones outweigh them. On the good side: (1) It's very easy to understand the people you're talking to because the headset has a good speaker and the in-ear design blocks most of the outside noise in that ear. (2) The headset fits firmly in the ear, and does not feel like it will fall out. (3) The buttons are easy to press, just gently grasp the sides of the headset with two fingers, and press the buttons with a third, and you don't need to jostle the headset loose or shove it down your ear canal to press a button. (4) The bluetooth connection to -- and disconnection from -- the handset are faster than on other bluetooth headsets I've used, and the automatic connection/disconnection from the phone when putting it in the case are convenient.
The negatives outweigh the positives, however. (1) It's very difficult for callers to understand what you're saying, because you sound very muffled and fairly quiet. Many nuances in your voice are lost entirely. I placed test calls to various people, left myself voicemail messages, et cetera, and the quality was abysmal in comparison to my old my Motorola H500 bluetooth headset. Automated telephone systems with voice activation that I use routinely from my old headset without issues were not able to understand my voice commands on the Motorola H9. (2) The in-ear design of this particular headset is uncomfortable. I use other in-ear headphones, and find them comfortable, but this headset is painful to wear, no matter which of the included earbud covers I used. With this headset, the initial pain turns to discomfort, and you get used to it, but it's by no means comfortable. If they improved the microphone significantly and re-designed the in-ear portion of the headset to be more comfortable, this could be a great headset. But I have to say that as currently designed, it's not usable.

DON'T DO IT!!!,

I'm a self employed 55 year old and just received my H9, charged it, and paired it up. This is the 7th or 8th (I've lost count) headset I've bought since becoming obsessed (obviously) with the notion of finding one that works right outdoors. I'm happy to say that I'm over that fantasy.
As far as the H9 goes, it is without a doubt, the worst headset I've owned. It's absolutely useless outdoors, even in low wind, unless you just want to irritate whoever you're talking to. When you answer a call there is a 3 or 4 second delay while it connects; another shortfall. If anyone wants to buy this piece of junk, it's fifty bucks plus shipping. On the plus side, it's cute. So what!

With my new LG VX-9900, I purchased a Bluetooth over the ear headset, the Motorola H500 which I hated. It would only stay on my ear if I were motionless. Any movement of my head and it moved off. Also, the speaker was so far from my ear canal, the sound was terrible. So, I gave up on headsets, opting for the more restrictive wired earphone.
I was initially reluctant to get the H9 with all the bad reviews, but I really preferred a Bluetooth earpiece so I thought I'd try it anyway. It just seemed to be a more logical approach and I liked the idea of it being tiny and less obtrusive. I have been using it about three weeks now and I am very satisfied. It stays in my ear!!! I can walk, bend, turn my head, whatever, and it stays there. There are several ear cushions to choose so you will almost certainly get one to fit snuggly. OK, after an hour or so, I take it out to scratch an itch, but that's a minor issue. There is a very slight delay when a call comes in until it picks it up. You answer by tapping the outer surface of the earpiece. It takes about 1.5 seconds to answer the call. When you tap the earpiece, you will hear one more ring then there is a connection. You don't hear a "click" -- you just wait a second and say, "Hello." It works fine, but you do need to do it a couple times to get used to the very slight delay. Training for voice commands was simple and it works fine. Anyone wearing a Bluetooth headset looks like a geek so get used to it. At least this makes me look like I'm a communications officer on the original Star Trek (the Lt. Uhura position). Its battery is limited to a couple hours use but the base unit has a battery in it and when you place the earpiece into the base, it tops off the unit's battery. You can place the earpiece into the little base (it's only 1 1/4 x 3 inches) and keep it in your briefcase, purse or on your desk plugged in to maintain the charge. It holds a charge better than the H500 I used before Bottom line, the only way it could be better is if it were a totally in-the-ear headset like a high priced hearing aid and answered instantly, but for my money, this is a MUCH BETTER unit.

It works well ... but there are two items that doesn't make me fully convinced about it !
1.-It's unconfortable to feel that you've one of your ears "blocked" with the device 2.- the talk-time is really short when compared with other headsets. the portable charger is a good solution , but the real thing is that I`m just getting used to it !! besides that.. I like it !! I feel like an Star-Trek Character !!!

you get what you pay for!,
This review is from: Motorola Miniblue H9 Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
the Motorola Miniblue H9 is everything you want on a compact, light weight bluetooth. Not only the talk time is more than sufficient for any phone you can think of, you can also take the charger on the go to give it more juice when need it. now if they only made it for the phones. bottom line you will have a bluetooth when you need it just hope you have a phone to keep up with it.
