Display the weather, time, and set as an alarm clock.

My phone slides in to the dock with ease and the dock has enough weight for me to pull my phone out without taking the dock with it.

My Droid 2 fits perfectly without removing the hard shell case on the phone.

This is a basic charge and sync dock/cradle, with no status indicators, spare battery compartment, speakers, AV outputs, USB hub, etc, but what it does it does well. Insertion of the phone is smooth with little fuss needed to properly align the phone in the cradle bay/socket. The phone is well supported while operating the touch screen in the cradle. There is minimal movement of the phone in the cradle and the USB connection remains intact. The cradle's considerable weight and rubber shoe (the entire bottom, with raised mid-span) keep it from sliding around while trying to operate the phone. Appearance wise the cradle looks and feels great, with smooth edges, tight seams, and a flawless finish.

The only downsides I found are:
1. The need to hold the cradle down while removing the phone. I suspect if there was a little more weight in the already heavy cradle that this issue would be resolved. Unfortunately this seems to be a typical characteristic of devices like this.
2. The piano black gloss finish shows fingerprint easily (see item 1 for why you would need to be regularly touching the cradle).

I didn't purchase this Multimedia Station Dock from this seller.
I bought it from Verizon Store at the time of DROID 2 purchase.

I just uploaded some photos and as you will see, my "cased" DROID 2 fits into this dock perfectly. However, I HAVE to say, I had a problem fitting my droid onto this dock until couple of hours ago since this dock is somewhat confusing as to how it should be set up.

When I opened the box, I saw only couple parts needed in order to put this dock together. I thought, "how confusing would it be to just build this simple dock!?" and ignored the User Guide. Well, several seconds later after I pulled the dock out of the box, I realized my DROID 2 while its case on will no way fit into this dock base.

I was disappointed and put the dock aside for couple of weeks as I was contemplating on returning it. It seemed a lot of work having have to remove my case every day just to charge (...even for its good looks). I carry my DROID 2 in my purse with other things and carrying it without its case seemed unwise decision (the screen is protected by a screen protector).

So finally I decided to return the dock, and was double checking to see whether I included all the equipment back into the box prior to bring it back to the store. Then I glanced the User Guide and noticed it says (in rather small font) "Use the insert unless you have Motorola protective case on your phone" along with the drawing that suggests there is actually an insert installed onto the dock that you need to remove it if you want to use Droid 2 with the case!

I looked the dock closely to see if there really was such a thing called "insert" that was removable.
Well... there was!

I wanted a cradle to hold my Droid 2 and this is it. If you have a hard shell case on you phone. No problem. There is a inner frame that comes out that makes room for a good fit. (This should have been noted in the description of the product.)The dock comes with a very long charging cord. The phone can be used while in the dock. It is a bare bones cradle with no bells or whistles. I am so pleased with it I am ordering another for work.

I've had this for about a week now. I have enjoyed having it on my night stand to act as my clock/alarm. It's nicely made and thank God it has a longer cord than the regular charger has. I plug the phone in and it sends the screen to a docking screen that gives me the time, weather, dimmer option, and a few more things. Also, easy to use while docked. Easy to send text messages, open emails, etc. I love this phone, and now am loving the accessories that go along with it. I would recomend this to a friend for sure. The only thing I wish it would have is speakers to play the music through instead of using the phone speaker. Other than that, I'm thrilled with it. Good construction, easy to use, takes up minimal room, turns the phone into a more useful device while lying in bed. 4 STARS

I got the Droid 2 dock to use beside my bed, mainly for a clock/alarm. When you first open the package, you notice how well the dock is built. It is solid, if not a bit on the heavy side to help hold it down. There are rubber pieces on the bottom to keep it from sliding around.

My Droid 2 has an extended battery on it, and it fits perfectly. The removeable section to be able to use a case on your phone in the dock is really easy to remove, but it stays in while pulling your phone out.

All in all, very impressed with this item. Great buy for anyone with a Droid!

The Motorola Multimedia Station advertises itself as being able to support a Droid 2 with a cover on it by removing the filler plate. After removing the filler my Droid 2 with a rubber cover fit in the base but the connector was too short to make an electical connection. You have to push hard and hold the Droid in the base to get it to mate. If you don't keep constant pressure on it, the Droid will disconnect. It works fine without the cover but who wants to take it off everytime you put it in the Multimedia Station?!? The Philips model works great because the connector can be adjusted up or down to properly match the thickness of the cover you have.
