Hacks,
This review is from: Motorola RAZR V3m Pink Phone (Verizon Wireless, Phone Only, No Service) (Wireless Phone)
First off I did not buy this product at [...]I bought it from the [...]. I think this phone is a really, really nice verison of the razr, being that I've had 2 other razrs (v3 and v3i). This one feels a lot more sturdy in your hand, and it doesnt feel cheap as the v3 did, while maintaining its sleek, slim look, unlike the v3x which is a lot thicker. Furthermore, the camera on this razr is far superior to the previous versions, excluding the v3x(2 megapixels). It has a 1.3 megapixel camera, but I don't really use it for the camera, its only good for those surprise moments :P. Also I've noticed that the audio quality is a lot better than the other razrs, the songs/ringtones sound a lot more crisp and rich. Also the phonebook feature is fixed, I used to hate to have to wait like 30 seconds just to get to what contact I wanted (v3), Also new to this razr, is the voice command system, you can instantly look up numbers via voice command. You can also check battery levels, and signal strength. And the pause between letters in a text message is reduced, so no more waiting 2 seconds to type "no" :). Battery life is very much improved from the other razr models probably because this is a CDMA phone instead of the normal GSM razrs. A con however is the fact that if it gets scratched you will be able to easily tell it did, but I believe they offer this phone in silver if this is an issue. If you want to get really fancy you could get a custom case designed and handmade for your phone at [..].
IF YOU BOUGHT THE VERIZON MUSIC ESSENTIALS KIT, OR THE VERIZON MOBILE OFFICE KIT, THE NEXT PARAGRAPH IS POINTLESS FOR YOU TO READ. For the rest of us who don't see giving Verizon more money on top of the phone price and service charge, read on. As for the hacking part as one person said previously, you can use bitpim to hack this phone. If you want to put music onto it without wasting more money on that Verizon software that allows you to do so, simply find p2k phone manager, MAKE SURE IT IS THE VERSION THAT WORKS WITH CDMA PHONES OR ELSE IT WILL NOT WORK. There are some tutorials that I found useful to help you through this, and when you're done hacking and stuff, you can have a lot of bonus features that Verizon disabled, such as music/ringtone transfer with MPT(Motorola Mobile Phone Tools), wireless bluetooth transfer, disabling the ringtones that come with it, changing the outer LCD screen. If you choose to do any of these, it will void your warranty, it is not illegal however. If mobile phone tools doesn't detect this phone, you may have the same problem I did, I was running an older version of the software. Also to enable music and ringtone transfer you have to use seem edits, which can be done with p2k phone manager. See, Verizon disabled the feature by making MPT think that the phone was a v3m when in fact the software has the device drivers listed as v3mm, also if those steps dont work after reading some tutorials, you may want to select v3c as your phone model. Another thing, the cable that comes with it that you're supposed to plug you headphones into, is FOR SMALL HEADPHONES, meaning its a 2.5mm jack instead of a 3.5, so YOU NEED SPECIAL HEADPHONES TO USE THAT FEATURE. But me being me, found a way around this. I used a knife to pry off the top part with the M logo on it and got to the insides. theres a circuit board and some wires connected to the jack. I used another phone jack from one of my broken CD players I had lying around. They're exactly the same connections and size (the smaller jack and the bigger one) so I put the bigger one on top of the smaller jack and soldered it to the bottom part, if you know what you're doing this shouldn't take more than half an hour. After I was finished I used an xacto blade to carefully cut the shape of the new phone jack out(because with two of them the cover wouldn't fit, and I wanted the bigger and the smaller jack). Then I had to also cut around the little part that holds the smaller hole at the bottom as to make it fit. After this was done I used some electrical tape(mostly because I wanted the adapter to stay black not gray with duck tape) and proceeded to wrap around it. Hopefully if you want to save like 50 bucks from buying the Verizon software you will try this, but then you need to buy the memory card and that will set you back like the same price haha, but you'll have like 512 mb instead of the 128 mb that comes in the Verizon package. Best of luck to all of you, and thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope this information has helped you, and if it did I would appreciate you rating this as helpful.

I read a lot of reviews about the RAZR phones (from Verizon) and was considering not getting one. It didn't matter that much since the new V3 didn't come in pink, but alas now it does and I have to say, I love this phone! I've had many cell phones in my day, and truly this one isn't that groundbreaking, but I do like how slim it is, the large screen, the navigation capabilities. It works great with (my *pink*) Bluetooth. The free ring tones are excellent - which is something I read a lot of bad reviews on. I'm not used to Verizon, so it is taking a while to get used to their menu, but once I have that all worked out, it will be fine.
Also, I don't find the battery to run as low as other reviewers say. I don't listen to music or do the V cast which of course eats alot of battery time, so maybe that is the difference. I just plug it in to my *pink* car charger every couple of days while I'm driving and have never been below 3 bars. If you are thinking about getting it, get it. I am not sorry at all - I'm actually still exited about it several weeks later.

Neat phone- too bad verizon destroyed it,

I got this phone three weeks ago. It has alot of very cool features- none of which can be used, however because verizon has them locked out. If you are cool with paying for every piece of music you want to easily move onto the phone, go for it. If you want to use motorola's phone tools software to keep your contacts & calendar you're SOL. Same with Bluetooth file transfer- SOL. Basically everything that would make you want this phone is blocked out. If you'll notice- in the amazon review & description, almost every feature is discussed in conjunction with a handy dandy pricey verizon tool, like v-cast. I dont need news downloaded to my phone, but I'd love to have my outlook calendar sync to it, shame that wont work... The ONE way they have it set up so you can move music without the "convenience" of buying it thru V-Cast is by using windows media- which you need a patch for because there is a known "bug" with the phone. I called tech support, and they walked me thru it, but couldnt explain why they were selling a phone with such a known bug.
I was never really bothered by the verizon branding & product pushing, until I got this phone, and realized EVERY reason I got it, were for features I wasnt "allowed" to use. I've been with VZ for 10 years, and after the rage I've felt with this phone, I'd seriously consider switching in the future. Luckily its easy enough to crack the phone to retore SOME functionality if you're feeling up to it. If you buy the phone, spring for the insurance so if you hack it unsuccessfully, you can run it over & get a replacement...;) **EDIT** At this point I've spent 60+ hours trying to make this stupid thing work. I cant get the phone to see the removeable memory card, I cannot take pictures, because the phone says its full, yet it will not permit me to move the pics onto the card. Go figure. There are probably 30 pictures on the phone from my friends at verizon- stupid graphics which I will never use- but cannot be deleted, they just sit there hogging up the extremely limited hard drive space. This is by far the worst phone I've purchased, and I've had at least 10 of them... The fact that its cute & pink doesnt come close to making up for the locked out & reduced capabilities of this thing. Why does motorola allow verizon to destroy their product??

Great phone with a couple problems,
This review is from: Motorola RAZR V3m Pink Phone (Verizon Wireless, Phone Only, No Service) (Wireless Phone)
I've had this phone for 4 months now and I think it's pretty good. I don't use the Vcast and haven't bought any music so I don't know about that.
Pros: Great reception, I'm in Ohio and I called California with only 2 bars and could hear great. Great picture quality, I love the zoom. Durable, I've dropped it a couple times and it's still fine. Easy to use menu, my mom has the same phone and know nothing about technology and has no problem using it. Large keypad. Loud ringtones, even on the low. Long battery life, I can go almost a week without charging. Though I love the phone, I have had a few problems. Cons: Sometimes certain buttons don't work. If I turn off the phone and turn it back on it works again. This might be because of it hanging off of my belt loop in 15 degree weather. Voicemail. When I call to check it, it tells me to leave a message. Wrong number calls. Almost immediately after I got the phone people called for whoever had my number before me. Including persistent creditors who didn't believe that I wasn't who they were looking for. Quiet ringtones, I know I listed loud ones as a pro but the one my mom uses is really quiet even on the loudest setting. I almost passed on this phone because of all of the bad reviews here but I love it and am glad I ignored them.

I'm 11 and my dad just got this phone for me. Its the greatest phone that i could ever ask for! It has tons of cool features and i love the vcast edition i have. its super skinny which i love because you don't need all the extra weight because of the phone. And it holds up to 1000 people! You can zoom in on pictures and it has red eye delete. I'm addicted to pink so this phone is great for me! People say that they break really easily but they don't! I've dropped my phone sometimes on pavement and nothing happened! Trust me you should buy this phone! It'll work wonders for anyone!

Substandard Phone,
This review is from: Motorola RAZR V3m Pink Phone (Verizon Wireless, Phone Only, No Service) (Wireless Phone)
Since purchasing cell phones I have owned probably 10 or so.
This RAZR is the only Motorala product I have purchased. What a mistake. Every morning I get the familiar beeping to let me know it has a low battery...yes, every morning. After having it for about 45 days it became difficult to hear people on the other end, even with the volume on high. The real kicker is this, those who also own a RAZR complain to me about the same issues...low battery life, poor sound quality. When we've complained we get the same response, buy a more expensive battery. Although the RAZR looks really sleek and modern for a cell phone, my experience with it has been a disappointment. It is a substandard piece of equipment in comparison to other cell phones I have owned. Good luck in your search.

Firstly, I need to preface this review by saying that I am not very good with electronics. When I buy a phone I care about 3 things 1) weight/size 2)clarity of voice 3) appearance. This phone got 3 out of 3!! The phone is user friendly and adorable. Therefore, I love it.
I can't relate to any of the other complaints regarding this phone. I had it for 10 months now, and it never let me down, despite dropping it twice. Yesterday, I dropped it into a puddle and it stopped working. I took it to Verizon, and they gave me a new one, with no issues at all. It's an adorable phone, works better than another other cell phone I have ever had, and has excellent reception.

Worst Phone Ever.....,

I was spending so much time at Verizon with this ridiculous phone.
It's bad enough that the battery only lasted one day, the worst part is that it would freeze up and not let any calls go out or come in! On another fun filled day at Verizon standing in line, the tech that helped us had 9 other razr phones piled up that they had taken in with problems just that day! Bought an LG, no problems.

This review is from: Motorola RAZR V3m Pink Phone (Verizon Wireless, Phone Only, No Service) (Wireless Phone)
In October my plan was up and I had to have the Razr. Great. Charged it for the full 8 hours or whatever. Took it out for the day and it didn't hold a charge for more than 6 hours. And that was just with normal use - a few short phone calls, didn't take and pictures, didn't watch any vcasts. I took it back. They gave me a new one. New one didn't charge for more thn 6 hours of use either. Verizon told me that that's "just the way phones are nowadays" and to basically deal with it. I dealt with it for a few more months but had increasing problems with it - it would ring when it wasn't get a call. The alarm would go off and wouldn't stop until I took the battery out. Constantly dropping calls. Took it back yet again to Verizon, I don't want this model anymore. It sucks. Well, apparently I can't do that and the only way out is to buy a new phone at full retail price. I went to T-mobile had my number ported over and I've finally got a phone that works. It cost me a $175 cancellation fee, but that was at least cheaper than buying a new phone at full retail.
The Pros: It is a "pretty" phone, and it fits great in a back pocket. Awesome ringtones. Verizon's plans aren't too bad. You can't beat their coverage either.

When i recieved this phone for christmas, i was on vactation. it came in useful when i wanted to take pictures of my family and all the differnt things i saw. The picture quality was great, and so was being able to call who ever i wanted because its free verizon custumer to verizon custumer and because it was a holiday (weekends are free too). Also you are able to have differnt ringtones and pictures show up on the front whenever someone is calling so you dont have to sit there thinking who is 123-4567?? There picture shows up on the front screen as soon as the phone rings. Also you can record your own ringtones, such as your friend saying PICK UP YOUR PHONE !! Another cool feature is you can take videos. My friends and i had a great time video taping each other. It has great sound and quality. One annoying thing about this phone is the manual. I read through it about a million times (a great waste of my time) trying to find out things about vcast. could you download your own music? how bout is recieving text messages free?? and what about ringtones? how much does it cost? there was none of those things listed. Also it says you can have aim on your phone. how does that work? I have tried to follow all the differnt directions and none of them work. Other than the less than helpful manual this phone is great , stylish, and has great ring tones already on the phone. I really enjoy this phone!
