Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Network
The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network allows you to download photos, apps, and games in seconds and entire movies in minutes. LTE (or Long Term Evolution) provides significantly increased upload and download speeds over 3G networks, as well as significantly reduced latency (or lag time). Verizon Wireless expects 4G LTE average data rates to be 5-12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2-5 Mbps on the uplink in real-world, loaded network environments.
With these blazing fast speeds, you'll be able to stream HD movies without the annoyance of constant pauses to buffer the video stream--as well as quickly download HD-quality movies right to your phone in minutes. Additionally, you'll be able to download a new song file in about 4 seconds or upload a photo to your favorite social networking site in about 6 seconds.
The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE mobile broadband network will also redefine the mobile office for business users. Business applications that used to require wired networks will be untethered forever, allowing you maximized productivity and efficiency while you're out of the confines of your office. Enhanced security lets you tap into most VPN networks with less waiting, and faster responsiveness enables you to upload 10 MB presentations back to your team in less than 25 seconds.
In areas serviced only by 3G, you can expect download speeds of 600 Kbps to 1.4 Mbps and upload speeds of 500 to 800 Kbps in Mobile Broadband coverage area.
Verizon Wireless Services
Backup Assistant: This complimentary service automatically back up your mobile contacts to your online address book. If your phone is lost, stolen, or damaged, or you decide to upgrade, easily restore your saved address book to your new phone. You can also add, delete, edit, and print your contacts online and send the changes to your mobile phone. There are no subscription fees for the service.
VZ Navigator Capable: With this GPS-enabled phone, you'll be able to access the Verizon Wireless VZ Navigator service (additional charges applicable) for voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions, heads-up alerts, local search of nearly 14 million points of interest in the US (such as landmarks, restaurants and ATMs), and detailed color maps.
Visual Voice Mail: This innovative service enables you to delete, reply, and forward voice mail messages without having to listen to prior messages or voice instructions. Visual Voice Mail is the ideal tool for the busy mobile professional who may need to prioritize which messages he or she listens to first. Features include on-screen access to voice mail message status, save up to 40 messages for 40 days (or archive permanently), create up to 10 different caller ID-based greetings, and reply via call back, text or even voice mail.
Android 4.1: Jelly Bean
This device is upgradeable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, packed with features to help you tackle your busy day. Jelly Bean improves on the simplicity and beauty of Android 4.0 and introduces a new Google Search experience. No matter what life throws your way, your phone helps you stay one step ahead.
What's New and Cool
What you need to know, before you have to ask - Once you opt in, Google Now tells you today's weather before you start your day, how much traffic to expect before you leave for work, when the next train will arrive as you're standing on the platform, or your favorite team's scores while they're playing. And the best part? All notifications are generated automatically and in real-time, before you even have to ask.
Google Voice Search: A new way to search - Need an answer fast? Now you can just speak your question directly to your phone. "Do I need an umbrella today?" "Where is the nearest gym?" Your phone will speak back the answer, or run a quick search to get you exactly the info you need.
Notifications you can act on - Now you can take action directly from the notifications shade. Late for a meeting? E-mail everyone to let them know. Missed a call? Call them back in an instant. And because they're expandable, you can get an even deeper look into the things that matter most, like multiple e-mails or photos on Google+.

The display is incredibly vibrant. Obviously with AMOLED technology you aren't going to have perfect clarity like some other displays, however, this is the best AMOLED display I have seen. I have read complaints that you can notice jagged edges and sometimes images aren't very sharp or clear, however, I have yet to find such issues or any real complaint in general.
I am incredibly happy with the size and feel of the phone. I have read some articles saying "why keep the RAZR name since it isn't RAZR-thin anymore" however, I am not sure where they got that idea from. Sure it still not as thin as the original RAZRs when opened, but it is still one of the thinest smartphones out there. Remember, the Droid RAZR HD is .2 MM thinner than the Galaxy S3. At the same time, the Galaxy S3's height and width are larger than this phone as well. Of course these numbers are quite miniscule, and for pratical comparisons, they are pretty much the same size. You will notice that the Galaxy S3 is a tad lighter, however. I personally like the "full" feeling while holding the RAZR HD.
Although the MAXX HD version is certainly the variant for the additional battery life, the 2530mAh battery that comes with the regular Droid RAZR HD is still quite good. I have gone almost a day and a half of moderate use without charging.Read more ›
I highly recommend this phone.
I had to adjust my settings on my email and updates to run on wi-fi only.
It's very fast while on the internet. Camera takes good pictures. Screen is fantastic, and large. Can't complain about the battery either. Overall, very, very happy with the phone.
Plus I only paid a penny for it :-)
About a month ago, my phone fell from a chair (about knee-height) onto a carpeted floor, with a protective case on it, and the entire top portion, which includes the screen, started detaching from the phone rendering it pretty much completely lifeless. I could hear my notifications going off, but the screen was dead, so I couldn't access them. Apparently the top portion hadn't been attached properly, which also caused the connector cables on the inside to detach. I had to pay $45 to have it repaired. (I paid $93 to purchase it here.) 3 weeks later, out of the blue, it completely stopped working. While I was out of town on vacation. All morning, I had been texting, checking my email and social media, taking photos, and listening to music. It was running slower than usual, but I didn't think anything of it. Suddenly I couldn't get any of my apps to open. Then the screen went black. I put it on the charger for 30 minutes or so, even though the batter had just said it was about half full, and nothing. Dead phone.
Aside from having my phone in the repair shop for 2 weeks out of the 2 months I've owned it, the battery life is not at all impressive (if you've read any of the reviews on this phone, the battery life is supposed to be one of it's best features), and it often runs frustratingly slow. I went online to find ways to make it run faster by removing unnecessary apps, files, etc., and it made absolutely no difference in the performance. If I had known this phone was going to give me such a headache, without a doubt, I would have chosen another phone, even if it meant paying twice as much... because that's what I'm going to end up paying after I get it out of the repair shop for the 2nd time.
I can't stress enough how much I DO NOT recommend this phone.
