4.0 out of 5 stars Overall Good phone
Overall I am happy with the Red Razr that I gifted to my wife on Valentine's day. On the outside, it is the same as the black/grey Razr offered by Sprint and comes with the same features/shortcomings.

Positives:
- Gorgeous looking. The online pictures dont do justice to how the phone actually looks
- Decent 1.3 Megapixel camera

1.0 out of 5 stars Quite possibly, the worst phone EVER made!
I've had this phone for about 8 months now, and what a horrible experience it has been. My god, who created this software? It is unbelievably slow, and literally freezes on average about three times a day. It freezes during texts, calls, internet, camera, EVERYTHING. Oh god, and the battery life? Don't get me started, the first day I bought it, fully charged it lasted...

- Excellent call quality
- Good reception. The phone has been able to retain a good signal in areas where my previous Sprint cell phone would loose connection.
- Good and easy to use interface.

Negatives:
- Very very slow menus. Phone reacts a second or two after you hit the key.
- The microSD card is almost impossible to remove after you put it in. Required a pair of tweezers to pull mine out. I searched online - and looks like it is a common problem for the V3m(where as the V3c's dont have this issue).
- This being a brand new phone from Sprint - the latest version of Motorola Phone Tools(MPT) failed to recognize it. MPT continued to refuse to recognize it even after it downloaded the "latest" list of phones from the bvrp website. However installing Sprint PCS Business Connection software(allows u to use the phone as a modem) - installed the required drivers on my machine. I was then able to manually add(note: automatic detection still failed, despite driver being installed) the phone to MPT.

It is unbelievably slow, and literally freezes on average about three times a day. It freezes during texts, calls, internet, camera, EVERYTHING. Oh god, and the battery life? Don't get me started, the first day I bought it, fully charged it lasted maybe 5 hrs. I figured ok, maybe the battery needs to be broken in, WRONG! Battery life has been in the toilet ever since. This is the absolute worst garbage phone I have ever owned.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Phone - Bad Battery, October 2, 2007

I loved this phone. It worked well with excellent reception for about 9 months. Suddenly, it would not hold charge for more than 12 hours even when on standby. I opened the back and noticed it had a BR53 battery. The Motorola web site recommends a BR50 battery. I bought a replacement on Amazon (about $7 including shipping) and now the phone again works great. I wonder if Sprint had Motorola install a a cheaper battery that doesn't work as long for the Sprint phones as a cost saving measure?

This phone is horribly programmed. Common operations like opening your contact list, or recent calls list takes far too long. I am constantly watching as the phone lags, trying to perform some common operation. Do not buy this phone!

My experience with this phone has been terrible for the past year. The battery life is AWFUL. The features are great but are extremely temperamental. This is my second phone to have a problem with texting where every text message suddenly becomes a mms message and costs me a fortune. They couldn't fix the first phone and replaced it - after a few months, the same thing happened to my second phone. The cover for the charger/data cable connection breaks and falls off. The voice calling never consistantly gives me a choice between home or cell phone numbers - it's just an awful phone. AWFUL - don't buy it! Don't let them GIVE it to you!

2.0 out of 5 stars Can't hold a charge and freezes, December 18, 2007
This review is from: Motorola RAZR V3m Red Phone (Sprint) (Wireless Phone)
This is my second red razr. I had to get a replacement after 4 days because the battery lasted about 2 hours if that. So, after 3 weeks of Sprint screwing around, I got my new phone.

The battery life is better, but not by much. I've now had this phone for 6 months and the battery lasts about 5-6 hours when I don't use it at all. It has about 40 minutes talk time and then dies. I live in an area that is not rural, is the biggest city where I live, and most of the time my phone doesn't roam, but maybe 2-3 times a week, it roams in my bedroom or in my living room. No specific area, just picks and chooses when it feels like roaming.

My husband and I both bought this phone at the same time. He has the same problems. We have gone through 2 chargers EACH and are now sharing one. And it's starting to have problems. Half the time it flashes charger connected, charger disconnected.

It lags on commands. Horribly! Something as simple as going through my contacts. There is about a 30 second delay in going from o to p. It just freezes there. And on certain people, I don't know why, it freezes when I hang up and I either have to wait 5 -7 minutes to use the phone again or turn it off and on.

My husband's phone is now shutting off for no reason, but if he whacks it on the palm of his hand, it'll turn back on. Had I known when I renewed my contract with Sprint that these phones sucked this badly, I wouldn't have even thought to buy one.

I did give it 2 stars because whether the inside sucks or not, it is pretty. :o) And the size is perfect for me. I am on the go all day with 3 kids and I have enough shoved in my purse or diaper bag that my phone slides to the bottom. I can slip it in my front pocket with no problem. It doesn't bother me at all.

So, when it's time to get new phones, I will be staying away from this one, I'll just be looking for a slim phone that works.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dont buy this phone!, November 6, 2007
This review is from: Motorola RAZR V3m Red Phone (Sprint) (Wireless Phone)
Ive had the phone for about 7 months and after about 5 months the LCD screen on the front quit working so I have to flip open the phone to see who is texting or calling, which can be a pain. I called Motorola and they said it would take 7-14 business days to fix and to make sure I kept track of all my phone numbers because once i got it back it would be completely empty! All the ringers and pics and numbers will be erased! Who can go 2 weeks without a phone... as they will not give you a loaner phone, nor will Sprint. The phone will freeze up at any given moment, the volume button on the side doesnt always work properly. Overall, not a good phone, there are lots of others that got good reviews and are comparable in price. This phone costs WAY too much for what its actually worth!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great phone, so sexy!, October 28, 2007
This review is from: Motorola RAZR V3m Red Phone (Sprint) (Wireless Phone)
This phone is great, very sexy and sleek, buttons have a very short lag when you press them, but I've already learned the rhythm of how to press them. I need a new battery after about 6 months, but that happens with any phone, these batteries aren't designed for life. I love how it fits in my pocket and doesn't bulge out. Overall a perfectly great phone.

This was the biggest waste of money ever which sucks because i really like the look and feel of this phone. However, when it comes to battery life and ability to hold a signal, it sucks. After using it a month, the battery was shot and getting reception inside anywhere was a crap shoot.
Do not be swayed by the appearance of this phone. It is a wolf in sheeps clothing folks. Beware....beware.

2.0 out of 5 stars complete disappointment, November 4, 2008
This review is from: Motorola RAZR V3m Red Phone (Sprint) (Wireless Phone)
This has to be the worst phone I have ever owned. It takes forever for it load or do anything. The sound is muffled. The battery life only lasts a few hours even after a full charge. Hate it! I will never own another one.
