I bought this device because I needed something more portable than a Garmin StreetPilot that needed power from an external source. I have a Motorola Q9m.

Syncing to satellites is really fast, route calculation is fairly fast. The addresses and points of interest are pretty good too.

The software installation was quick, however the software doesn't allow you to configure any of the bluetooth settings while connecting to the hardware.

The correct procedure according to tech support is to switch on this device, then start the application on the Q and the software auto-sees the device and pairs up. I did some user testing of my own and realized that it works Ok after a phone reset, however if you are to ever change the bluetooth settings of your phone (eg. change the phone's name from the generic 'Motorola Q9m' to 'My phone' or anything else, the hardware will not pair up with the phone correctly. The device lights indicate that pairing is complete, however, the phone screen tells you that the pairing has not occurred. While remembering this is fairly simple, the problem occurs if you named your Q phone differently when you used Microsoft Active Sync for other syncing with your computer. Active Sync tries to rename your Q every time you connect - so the next time you try to pair the GPS hardware, it doesn't work until you change the name back. Need to fix this glitch - Moto!
