Pros: This is a nifty device for docking the Bionic. It sports 3 USB inputs and a micro-HDMI output. A remote control is included (which I have not tried to use) and a power supply.

Cons: The product was advertised to accept a standard HDMI cable; in actuality, it's a micro-HDMI output. The cable is not included. This item is not a good value at $100ish. The price should be around $25 and it should include an HDMI cable.

Before i bought this i already knew that it used the micro hdmi connector. It's kinda silly since it has plenty of space for a standard hdmi plug next to the 3 standard usb plugs and audio connector. My review isn't about the description, but it's about the actual product.

I am upgrading from an old Droid original, and this dock is lighter than the original droid dock, but i haven't had an issue with it. I bought the Motorola Standard HDMI Cable for Motorola DROID X, ATRIX 4G, and XOOM and it works perfectly. I hooked up my keyboard and mouse and audio to this, and it displays out to the tv just fine.

Be warned though, that there is limited resolution support, so if you have a high resolution monitor, you might not be happy with the lack of upscaling. The display will look stretched and blurry on a widescreen high res monitor. But on tv's, it works really well and looks great.

Also note that i bought the TPU-Cases Matte Back Black Flexible TPU Case for Motorola Droid Bionic 4G (Verizon) ·~·TPU-Cases Retail Packaging·~· and it fits great in this dock. The dock allows you to remove an insert and it creates more room for the phone + case.

I really like that they now have the audio output on the dock instead of having to connect it to the phone like the original droid.

Overall i'm really happy with this dock, but was well aware of it's shortcomings before buying.

Sure it's pricey and doesn't include an HDMI adapter, but it's still a pretty nifty gadget. I won't lie; for this price you'd expect the adapter.. I use this dock to pipe my Webtop through to my 40" LCD and the picture comes out clear. I've tested the actual picture quality with videos I filmed on the phone itself, and it's come out fantastic. I bought this in lieu of the Lapdock since I don't need another laptop. This is a much cheaper route to go if you want the Webtop experience.

Not really worth it over the regular Bionic dock, which is priced way cheaper than this thing. I got the HD station in hopes of being able to use the remote for most of my apps (especially Netflix), but it turns out it only works to navigate the main screen and your music.

Also - there is a bug with the Bionic which makes your touchscreen sensitivity go on the fritz when you put it on the dock, rendering the phone almost useless. Who knows when and if an update will fix this. Already a few months since the phone was released and still nothing yet, so don't hold your breath on that.

I had to buy a 30 dollar micro HDMI cable a while back to review a kodak HD handheld camcorder's output (mil 810 construction). That SAME cable enables my droid to hook to my HP 25.5" 1920x1200 pixel display. I took a photo of what you get on the docktop display - it's like a linux system with 2 displays comming out one port.

The docktop is probably the better choice for people who have hdmi displays on hand (forget it and get the cheaper usb dock if you don't) - you do get 3 usb ports on the video doc, a separate power input, hdmi passthrough, and even a regenerated audio connector for hooking to stereo speakers - a perfect nightstand phone charger + alarm clock.

The phone has way too many modes to run in when docked - I took a photo of one and will highlihght its features while plugged in. You do have other options and can resize the droids 1/4 HDMI display.

As for the 3x usbs - I hooked up a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse receiver fob and they worked fine with it. Microsoft Wireless Desktop 3000 I also have the motorola bluetooth keyboard that I can use on the road when undocked. It's a nice addition too for very little money. And it works with alot of bt devices, tablets, etc.

Finally computers get smaller! Make your buying decision on if you have a nearby hdmi port to plug your phone into while charging at night - bedrooms with hdmi tvs will do fine (extension hdmi may be required depending on distance). No hdmi? buy the usb version and you can keep your droid bionic topped off on charge all night and have a cool alarm clock.

Ok, I am adding comments to my original review (below). Dock no longer works. Put my phone in and no power. My multimeter is not working, so I can't tell if it is the plug-in adapter that is not sending power, or if it is the dock that is not working, but either way it doesn't work. Unfortunately, this is following a pattern of several motorola products I have owned, hence my skepticism in the original review. Bummer, but at least I will hopefully be able to get a new one under warranty.

This is a pretty neat dock. It is very pricey, compared to the regular (non HD) dock, but the ability to hook it up to your widescreen TV is pretty cool, and the best part (reason I bought it) is that you can hook up USB peripherals. I had my doubts about this USB feature, but I have 2 different wireless mouse/keyboard combos and both of them work flawlessly with this dock. My laptop crapped out last week, and I had to research buying a new one using the bionic's webtop app (firefox browser), since I didn't have the laptop to surf with (obviously), and this worked great. My new laptop should arrive in 3 or 4 days, but in the meantime, this will tide me over. One big concern I have is the wall plug-in to this dock. It is not the USB-type like the other docks I've had were. This is a proprietary plug. I assume they had to avoid a USB power source, as most USB sources don't have the amperage needed to power this thing, then everyone would return it as "broken" when their underpowered USB port fails to run the dock. Anyway, the power connector is a tiny rod, smaller in diameter than a toothpick (by quite a bit), and it would not surprise me if that tip would snap off easily, so I try to be very careful when packing it into my luggage. That's my only real concern.
