5.0 out of 5 stars Works just fine, March 19, 2010
I was looking for a no frills car speaker to use with my BlackBerry Tour that was easily portable between different cars, easy to use, and had good sound quality for speaking and listening. The T305 did the trick.

Pairing this with my Tour was quick and effortless. Using it is a breeze. I just hit the phone button to receive a call and my speed dial buttons to dial frequently called numbers. Voice activated calling also works, though I tend not to use that.

This is a small unit that clips unobtrusively and easily to the visor for easy installation and removal. The people I call say that my voice is clearer than when I was using a headset. I can also hear them more clearly.

Let me address some critiques mentioned in other reviews, none of which should deter you from buying this unit:

1. There is no AC charger, only a cigarette lighter charger with a micro USB plug on one end. True, but there are lots of gadgets you can buy to power electronic gadgets via a USB cable and AC outlet (I own several; one of my favorites is the Tekkeon MP-1800, which I use for this unit as well as my iPod Touch, Tour, and Slacker G2).

Also, if you have a USB 2.0 A-Male to Mini-B cable (which costs only a few dollars on Amazon) you can charge this unit via the USB port on your computer.

2. The power switch is tiny. True, but it really is not difficult to turn this on and off (and it shuts off automatically after 30 minutes when not paired with your phone, which happens when you leave the car and get far enough away).

3. There is a flashing blue light to indicate that the unit is connected to the phone (and my Tour also has a flashing blue light while it is connected to the speaker). True, but if it bothers you just put a piece of black electrical tape over it (though I would not cover it completely so that when you charge this unit, you can tell when the charging light turns from red to blue to indicate a full charge).

4. The unit does not automatically turn on and sync with your phone when you get into the car. True, but it is not really a big deal to turn it on.

Bottom line: This unit cost less than half the sale price of my fancy blue tooth headset and is both easier and clearer for me to use. In addition, since pairing with a phone is required only once, you can use this with multiple phones (though obviously not at the same time), which is handy when my wife wants to borrow it for occasional use. The only adjustment on this unit is the volume, but that is all that I was looking for. For a "plain vanilla" unit I recommend this.

Update April 7, 2010: I now place this unit next to the center console so that I can connect it via a USB cable to a charging unit by my console that I use for my electronic gadgets, which keeps this unit charged all the time. The sound quality is still fine (I made a test call to my home answering machine). I also like not having this unit visible on my visor lest someone mistake it for a GPS and break into my car to steal it.

Update July 22, 2010. The brutally hot weather that we have had in the Northeast this summer has not affected this unit at all. I leave it in the car, where the temperature with the windows closed has often been in the high 90's or worse. The unit continues to work just fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars absolutely love it - wouldn't want to miss it, January 26, 2011
This review is from: Motorola T305 Car Hands-free Kit - Wireless - Bluetooth (Electronics)
I absolutely love this item because I love talking on my cell phone while I am driving. I had many different models of bluetooth headsets before which I either forgot to take with me or didn't charge prior to use. This portable bluetooth does what it supposed to.

- It is easy to operate (you don't need to look at it to operate it).

- You can communicate with people clearly (they can hear you and you can hear them).

- Easy to connect the phone and switch between phones
(I went on a longer trip during which we switched drivers and therefore connected the phone of the driver at the time to the bluetooth.).

- You can use it while you are charging it (not sure why people worry about buying an additional charger).
I took my bluetooth on a 14 hrs trip and never had any charge problems since I used it while it was charging.

I gave mine to my spouse and am buying another one. I would highly recommend it.
