Works great love to talk on this unit sound quality very good, the battery last a long time. Just remember if you are anywhere close I mean even if you park in the drive way and go in the house and still have the sonic rider on the blue tooth is so strong that all calls go to the sonic rider which makes you think your phones not working but it is because the phone is still paired up with the sonic rider. Example I get home go inside see my phone ring can't hear it but i see it I press answer and can't hear anyone on the phone this is because the phone is speaking through the sonic rider in my truck. Also I go to make a call and nobody answers me on my phone in the house, this is because I'm still paired up to the truck. hope this helps, And this a very good hands free device I would recomened it to anyone.

I got this as a replacement for the Jabra Tour that was not compatible with my Nexus 4 phone. Since Motorola mobile is a Google company I thought that the Sonic Rider would pair nicely to my Google Nexus 4.

The Sonic Rider is a very basic speakerphone. It is not going to read your text messages, stream to your FM radio, or turn on automatically when it senses your presence. It has an on/off switch, buttons to mute, increase/decrease volume, and a button to activate phone calls. That's it. I knew this was a very basic speakerphone when I purchased it. What is most important is the device's performance. Lets see how it stacks up:

Pros
* Battery life - Motorola claims 45 hours of usage and 5 months standby time. I have used the device almost daily for 2 months and the battery is still going strong.

* Car charger - you get a simple but nice Motorola car charger. It's the same model as the #1 best seller in Amazon car chargers listed as "Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate Charger".

... and that concludes the pros.

Things that are "OK" - neither pros or cons
* Reconnecting to phone - to reconnect you must push the "receiver" button twice. As I had mentioned, the Sonic Rider will not automatically sense when you have entered the car and reconnect. You must do this manually. Every time. It doesn't bother me as my Jabra Tour had the auto-reconnect feature but it didn't work 50% of the time.

Cons
* Speaker audio quality - spoken words are a bit muffled and there is definitely a lack of audio range. Similar to listening to a Skype call on tiny laptop speakers with the treble turned down. The speaker distorts when the volume is set high.

For the price, this is a really solid unit. I needed a hands-free set-up for my car, but would never use an earpiece. For my money, this is a great alternative.

The speaker is crisp, sufficiently loud, and less tinny than I expected given its size. There's no noticeable echo. It doesn't have much in the way of bass (as you might expect) but since I use it primarily for phone calls, GPS, and audiobooks, that's not an issue. Don't misunderstand me - it's certainly capable of playing pandora and the like, and the sound's not bad, it's just not a replacement for your car stereo sound-wise (and if it were, it would cost 4x as much). People on the other end of phone calls report very good sound quality, which is consistent with my experience with Motorola mics and speakerphones.

Setup and use are very easy. Battery life seems to be good.

The only weirdness I've experienced is that Siri sometimes has a harder time understanding me than when using the phone alone (iPhone 5). In those instances, it's very easy just to revert to the handset while I'm talking to "her" and then return to this device afterward.

This is a GREAT Bluetooth Car Kit. It was so easy to set up with the voice to tell me what to do. Then I didn't have any issues pairing it with my phone. The voice activated dialing is wonderful. It is the PERFECT Bluetooth Car Kit. You won't be sorry if you purchase this item. It is also small and not big and bulky so it doesn't get in the way of raising and lowering the visor.

Got this unit because my state requires 'hands-free' use of cellphones when operating motor vehicles; as well as the fact that, I do not like either the look or feel of those devises that you hang from your ear in order to communicate.

This is the first device of this type that I've used and it serves my purpose. It's easy to operate, goes a good period of time between battery charges, has decent speaker quality on both ends of the conversation, etc.

Bottom line… no complaints and it does what I wanted it to do.

Love this item. Once you pair it with your phone, it remains connected when you get in and out of your car. I gave it as a gift to our daughter and she just loves it. What a great "no hands" safety tool while driving and especially useful for older cars

I am using this with iPhone5. The sound was pretty good form this unit, but I was told by several people that they could not hear me. I was told that I sounded like I was too far from the device. It hung on the visor of my car, about a foot or so from my face. I drive a Honda Pilot, so not exactly a loud vehicle full of road noise. Returned it for credit.
