![]() Take a closer look at the cosmic blue RAZR V3's functions. |
Calling Features
The RAZR V3's internal phone book can hold up to 1000 contacts, while the phone's picture ID system allows you to assign pictures to your most common callers. It also supports polyphonic ringtones as well as MP3 ringers, allowing you to use portions of your favorite songs to alert you to incoming calls. A number of ringtones come preloaded on the phone. There's even an included application, MotoMixer, that lets you mix your own ringtones. For times when you want to be discreet, there's a vibrating alert. A built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear while voice activated dialing makes calling your friends, family and associates as easy as saying their names.
Because the RAZR V3 is Bluetooth enabled, wireless headsets can be configured with the phone for total handsfree operation.
Messaging, Internet, and Tools
The RAZR V3 is a messaging and wireless Internet powerhouse. Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, sound and video via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. Instant messaging is also supported via AOL Instant Messenger and the phone ships with a built-in email client with support for POP3, IMAP4 and SMTP protocols.
iTap text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit-- a plus for mobile email and text messaging users. And with Internet service and a data plan (not included) and its Bluetooth or USB data capability, the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs.
A number of handy software tools are bundled with the RAZR V3 including a voice memo recorder, a calculator with currency converter, a calendar and an alarm clock. Use the phone's Bluetooth capability to set up a wireless link with a Bluetooth accessory or connect to a computer or hand-held device to exchange and synchronize data. The phone also supports the SyncML PC synchronization standard, can be used with Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools PC application to manage and synchronize contacts, calendar and other data with your PC.
Imaging and Entertainment
With 5 MB of internal memory storage, the RAZR V3 shines in the entertainment department. The phone's VGA camera features a 4x zoom, image quality options, and an auto-timer so you can be in your pictures, too. Capture stills and then send them to your friends via MMS messaging or email, or to your PC via USB or Bluetooth. The phone is capable of MPEG4 video playback when you receive a video message, or if you upload video to the phone via USB or Bluetooth. The RAZR V3 also supports custom graphics for wallpapers so you can dress up the phone to suit your fancy.
Operating the RAZR Battery Door
The RAZR V3's battery cover is designed to have a very tight fit with the phone case. You may need to use your fingernail or a very thin instrument to depress the small battery cover release button. When replacing the cover, make sure the cover securely snaps into place before operating the phone.

Mobilecityonline Motorola V3 cellphone,
Nightmare! Multiple Fraudulent misrepresentations.
Cellphone and manual are in French [can also be Chinese language], charger is European plug [cannot be used]. Merchant lied that Amazon would not allow changes on their site [False according to Amazon]. Paid $12.95 for expedited 1-3 day delivery, but got confirmation that delivery would be 4-9 days. Arrived in 6 days. I gave bad rating and seller left message on my voice mail asking me to change rating, but left no phone # to contact[again bad customer service]. I complained in email to Amazon who sent me merchant's phone #. However, merchant supplied Amazon with wrong # so I could not contact manager except by email. I notified Amazon of wrong merchant phone # [Amazon got right # for me]. I contacted Merchant by phone and he was rude, talked over me so that I could not get answers to questions, then he hung up on me. Merchant stated that all his customers had same problem so it was no big deal...customer could just 'download' an English version of manual, said sometimes cellphone comes in Chinese language...these are meant for overseas use. Merchant made no offer to reimburse, and stated Amazon would not allow him to change misleading info...he just attached his add to Amazon's site. This is false and this merchant cannot be trusted. My business has suffered for a week with this nightmare merchant's lack of responsibility and fraudulent misrepresentation. Jack

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I purchased a Black RAZR V3 a month ago for my wife. Great service from Amazon, great phone from Moto.
I decided to get another one just like it for myself a few weeks ago. But when it arrived, this one had poor reception compared to my wife's; 1-2 bars vs. 5 bars side by side. I googled the software version on the phone and discovered I had received a model V3R not the model V3. The V3R is a European model that supposedly cost less to make (I haven't confirmed this). But I then looked at the package, and sure enough the model was a V3R. (They look identical, although there are some differences in menus due to the software/firmware.) So I returned the phone and ordered a Blue V3 unlocked; figured a different color would reduce the chances of just getting another V3R. When I got the Blue phone it was obvious the phone had been used: the package wasn't sealed; part of the protective plastic was missing; the Moto Tools CD and USB cable were missed; the earpiece was missing. The reception was just as bad as the previous one I had returned. (I think I know why, but it's too long to get into; bottom line while my wife's phone locked onto the strongest signal available, the other two dropped off to another tower with a weaker signal.) Conclusions: The amazon service is great: delivery was very quick, and it's easy to return the product. The main reason I purchased from amazon is that I know it's easy to return a product. On the other hand, right now getting an unlocked RAZR from amazon seems a little risky, since I'm only batting 1 for 3. I haven't decided if I'm going to try again or not.

I work for a very well respected cell phone company, and I purched this phone from this very page back on May 2, 2006. Being unlocked, I can use any company's SIM I need to. While the reception is not tuned for my particular network, I have yet to miss a call, and it is simply the nicest feeling, holding, fliping, opening, using phone ever, and I test over 40 phones a year.
