Huge, colorfull and clear screen and a great 2MP digital camera (not as good as the SonyEricsson ones - my sister has a W900i with a 2MP camera that takes much better pictures than my V3x). But I prefer the size, since the w900i is bigger and bulkier than the razor V3x.
I have my V3x for 2 months now and I didn't find any CONS yet.

5.0 out of 5 stars no problem with browser, July 8, 2006
This review is from: Motorola RAZR V3x Unlocked Cell Phone with 2 MP Camera, 3G, MP3/Video Player, MicroSD Slot--International Version with No Warranty (Dark Blue) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
ok, I don't actually own THIS Razr but the first one (also unlocked though) but I just wanted to reply to those who have trouble using the internet. The thing with unlocked phones is, they are a blank slate in terms of internet and messaging settings. You actually have to load these setting from the wireless carrier's website that you are getting your service from. Cingular customer service should have known that. All you have to do is go to Cingular's website. There you click on the support tab and then the Answer center. There you can type in the question box " configuring multimedia messaging on Razr" and it'll show yo all relevant results. They actually walk you through the settings. They'll inlude internet settings as well.
On T-mobile's website they'll send the settings directly to your phone via text message. Just search for T-Mobile Wireless Configurator.
I've done it with different phones on both networks over the years since I like unlocked phones.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great phone...if you don't have Cingular, October 1, 2006

This review is from: Motorola RAZR V3x Unlocked Cell Phone with 2 MP Camera, 3G, MP3/Video Player, MicroSD Slot--International Version with No Warranty (Dark Blue) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I bought the V3x a while back because I read that it supported GSM Bands 1900, 1800, and 850...was that site ever wrong. The phone supports GSM Bands 1900, 1800, and 900. So, if you have Cingular or another provider that supports the 850 GSM Band, don't buy this phone. Either get the Motorola RAZR V3i or Motorola MING A1200. If you live in the city or large town, you might get a good signal, but if you go into the small towns, you probably won't get a signal.

Anothing thing that I didn't like about the phone is the fact that it didn't support 320kbps MP3's. Most of my MP3's have a bitrate of 320kbps, so there is a lot of songs that I couldn't get to play.

When listening to music on the MP3 player, you can't do anything else unless you Suspend/Quit the MP3 player. No browsing the net or sending SMS/MMS messages while listening to your music.

Now, for some good stuff ^_^. The camera was really great for taking pictures of friends, but wasn't too great if they were moving =/. The cam even comes with a light, but it is only usful if you're in the dark (That's how great the cam is heh). You can record up to 3 mintues of video. Support J2ME applications/games. Comes with both Tap and iTap (V3 didn't have iTap). Can hold up to 512MB of space with a MicroSD card. Can use MP3 ringtones (V3 could too, but only very low quality MP3's). Supports 3G technology, such as Video Calling. And, best of all, the phone is cool looking, looks better than the V3. Another neat thing is the blue light that lights up when the phone rings or when the phone is charging. The light is located at the front of the phone, at the bottem. If you look at the images, you'll see a small bar at the bottem (Not the very bottem). It's only anoying when you're trying to sleep while the phone is in your room charging.

Hope this review helped ^_^.

5.0 out of 5 stars VERY nice phone, works with Cingular!, December 27, 2006

I bought this phone, put in my Cingular SIM card, and it worked perfectly from the beginning. I live in the northeastern US, and I get a great signal most of the time, no better or worse than any other phone I've owned. I had to go to the Cingular website to enable the web browser and MMS messaging, but after doing this, everything worked fine.

The camera is amazing, the pictures are large and colorful (1600x1200 I believe). The light is also useful in the dark of course. The mp3 player is far better than the iTunes player that comes with the SLVR l7: You can transfer songs from your computer with bluetooth, so no USB cable is needed. Also, you can use the mp3's as ringtones, which is also not possible with the SLVR.

It's also great to have this phone because nobody else has it yet. The phone is in British English, which you can to show to friends to prove that the phone isn't available in the country. (for this reason, you can't find cases for it in stores, so you have to buy one online if you want a case.)

Obviously the video calling isn't available in the US yet, but I'm sure it will be evntually, and when it is, I'll be all set with the v3x.

5.0 out of 5 stars The 3G Connectivity of this phone rocks, July 23, 2006

This phone works without any changes in US, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, and Europe. Yes, in Japan, 3G service provided thru Docomo Japan. For the first time, I don't need to carry an extra phone when traveling to Japan. This is all what matters to a frequent flyer like me.

I was initially disappointed upon receipt of this phone, as it was "licorice" in color, as opposed to the dark blue I ordered and what was referenced on my receipt. I called Ace Digital and learned that the dark blue models are out of stock. After consulting with my daughter, who selected this model for her Christmas gift, we agreed to keep the phone with the understanding that if she doesn't like it on Christmas day I will keep for myself and give her cash that college students always seek. (As a side note, Ace provided nominal compensation for my trouble, which was appreciated.) While configuring the phone for my daughter, I struggled with multimedia messages, as we have T Mobile and there were only 3 carrier options in the phone. I came back to the Amazon site for much needed tech support through customer reviews. B. Maehler's "Chocoholic" review was extremely helpful; once I went to T Mobile's website there were no further issues and I successfully emailed photos. After spending a few hours configuring the phone now, my final conclusion is that I am hoping that my daughter opts for the cash so that I may keep the phone for myself!

I just bought this phone off of ebay and I am under Cingular. This phones works great. I have not had any problems at all... I even went to the cingular website and found the setting to program the brower for the media net as well the MMS. If anyone is wondering if they should get this phone. I recommend they do.. It makes the original razr look like nothing.. And I have the original razr and I will never go back...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Phone, April 26, 2007
This review is from: Motorola RAZR V3x Unlocked Cell Phone with 2 MP Camera, 3G, MP3/Video Player, MicroSD Slot--International Version with No Warranty (Dark Blue) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I live in souther CA, and purchased this phone for use on the cingular network.

Some minor customization needed to get the internet working. Every thing else worked as soon as the sim was put in.

Pro's
Good battery life. I can forgot to plug this in for days at a time.
Ruberized material makes for a good grip. (having seen a few phones drop, that is a nice perk).

USB power interface. Allows you to recharge from a laptop if you are short on outlets.

Good camera, with a light.

Con's
Batter memter is not always accurate. I have had it go from green to yellow to the phone is dead in under 10 min, w/o playing mp3's ect. (admitadly, that was after days of use.). . . also, thier are two battery memters in this phone. one in the upper right (the one that is often wrong), and one hidden in the options (this one tends to be right for me).

Button pannels raised rubber edges tends to leave smudge marks on the screen.

Backlighting dealy is a bit short at times, causing your phone to go dark at inopertune times. (I live at night, so that is a big deal to me)

2.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre at best, July 16, 2006
This review is from: Motorola RAZR V3x Unlocked Cell Phone with 2 MP Camera, 3G, MP3/Video Player, MicroSD Slot--International Version with No Warranty (Dark Blue) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I bought the Motorola Razr v3x cos I was between phones. I had been using the Sony Ericsson P900 and the Nokia N70 before, and I was planning on buying a Nokia N80. I chose the Motorola just to see what the hype was about. I still dont see what the hype is about this phone.

Construction: The body of this phone is rubberized, providing much needed grip (I would drop my p900 and n70 numerous times due to lack of grip - yeah I know, butterfingers!). Another advantage is that it does not scratch easily. However, the external screen and the camera are susceptible to scratching; I'd recommend putting a screen protector.

Display: The external display is too small to be of any use. It displays the time when the phone is not in use, and it is used for caller ID. It is only useful if you have a picture of the caller, cos the display is too small to read the number. The internal display is while viewing still photos, but it doesnt look very good while viewing videos - the videos tend to pixellate a lot.

Sound: The ring tones that ship with the phone do not do justice to the price of the phone. The speaker sounds tinny (I guess this is a trade off for the slim design). The in call volume is very low compared to the P900 and the N70.

Signal reception: My GSM provider is not really known for its signal strength, but the Razr fares much worse compared to the Nokia N70 in signal reception. While I'm at work, the phone is constantly losing connection to the network and since its on automatic network detection, the battery runs out by the end of the day.

Cost: Given the performance of this phone, I dont feel its worth the price. I'd recommend adding a few dollars more and buying the Nokia N70.
