I have had nothing but great luck with this phone. I have been able to change pictures so when I open my phone I see my son and nephew together. It gets great reception. I had to get rid of my Samsung because it was horrible.

I would have loved to receive a unlocked GSM W490 Motorola phone. I was shipped something different because the vendor had the wrong item description for what they wanted to sell. After several emails to the vendor they realized their mistake and made me feel like it was my fault. They did refund my money and never did have a W490 to sell in the first place. I have purchased 2 phones from Amazon vendors in the past and have always received a phone for a different country that did not have all the functions that you would have if you bought the phone from T-Mobile or AT & T. I still say go to T-Mobile or AT & T. to buy a phone that works! Life is too short to put up with the Gray Market of cellular vendors! Note: I have purchased a phone that Amazon sold and it worked.

This is honestly the worst phone I've ever had. I've always had Samsungs, and going from a Samsung SGH-T509 to this was awful.

First of all, this Motorola is awfully slow. You press a button, and it doesn't register for at least two seconds -- this makes it SO annoying to text message! The appearance on the screen is always 5 seconds behind what you're typing.

Second of all, the instruction manual says that the phone is supposed to be able to take pictures when the phone is closed. I have yet to figure out how to do this. I followed the instructions exactly as they are in the book, and it just doesn't work.

My third complaint is a lack of ability to personalize the device. You can't change text colors, menu colors, etc. and the external display on the phone shows up as a very small, very crammed version of your phone background. Also, let me add that the screensaver option doesn't even work.

I could go on forever and ever about why I don't like this phone, but let me just stop here and say that your best bet is with any Samsung phone that carries the same features that this Motorola is supposed to have.
