Not the ROKR E-1 transferrable cable,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Motorola USB data cable AAKN4011 for Motorola A630, A635, A920, A925, A1000, A1010, E390, A396, E680, E1000, MPX220, V60 (Wireless Phone Accessory)
If you need the actual, working cable for your ROKR E-12, don't buy this one. This is a generic cable. The one thing good about it is, this, it charges your phone super fast. It does not transfer files, MP3's or photos. I saw the price tag, and my eyes said yes, my hands ordered it, then, I begin to think I better fork over the 26.95 to the Cingular website for the actual cable, which I did, and does work well, by the way.
If it wasn't such a pain to pull out the computer tower, and this could be plugged into a front USB hub, then, it'd be an even better charger. The seller offered to take it back, but by the time I would have repaid postage, I'd put way more into it, than I paid for the Amazon order in the first place. He will not refund the 4.95 postage, but will refund the 1.95 cost. I guess you get whast you pay for.

DOESN'T WORK ON V551,

Cable was advertised to work with the Motorola V551 phone....which it doesn't! Since I purchased the cable, the ad has been revised and the V551 is no longer listed as working with this cable. Cable is of no use to me whatsoever because of the misleading ad!

Good for VT330 from SF Planet,

Along with this cable, SF Planet provided a cd with software for Motorola phones. I had an older phone, a VT330. If I let the software automatically update, the drivers could not access the phone. Then I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it without updates and, lo and behold, it worked! I downloaded the phonebook to outlook express and was able to create a comma delimited file to import into excel for use when I discontinue calling on this phone. Excellent!

this is an old product for an old phone, but if you have one of the compatible model phones just get this. it works like a champ, sees the
computer instantly and does what it's supposed to do. i left off the last star because i had to ge to the 'net and get the software myself. this shoild not be a problem for anyone who's ever used, say, a printer. it's the same deal. then download P2K and have at customizing the pants off your phone.

A generic Data Cable for Generic programs,
By You Forgot About Me "Futbol and Books" (Right Coast, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Motorola USB data cable AAKN4011 for Motorola A630, A635, A920, A925, A1000, A1010, E390, A396, E680, E1000, MPX220, V60 (Wireless Phone Accessory)
My main purpose for buying a data cable was not to transfer photos, or audio to my v600, but to run a special program that called for a simple generic data cable. Though this one comes without the proper driver, you can find the generic driver via Plug and Play with Windows XP or greater. XP recognized my phone as new hardware and installed a driver that enabled it to charge my phone, but that was it. The program I ran installed the further drivers and did the job. If you want to transfer address books, multimedia, and the like, go for the official data cable offered by your service provider or manufacturer for your phone. That way you are ensured the proper drivers and the proper transfer program. It suited my purposes 100%!
