I used to try and use applesauce in my baking several years ago and had bad results with it. Recently, I purchased this cookbook and have had success with the recipes from it. This cookbook uses a combination of margarine (or oil) and applesauce which seems to work well in the recipes I've tried so far.

High cholesterol, hypertension, and obesity are all good reasons to give this book a try. I have all three problems in varying degrees, but hate to give up my occasional 'goodies,' so this book has been a real blessing. I have used most of the recipes, and I think if I had to chhose a favorite it would be 'Apple Sauce Irish Soda Bread' on page 32. I also recommend the 'Banana Bread' and the 'Apricot Carrot Bread.' The recipe I intend to try next is the 'Orchard BBQ Sauce.'
