I had a lot of trouble finding a mount that I thought could handle the weight of this TV and still have the tilt, swivel and articulating features I was looking for.

Although this TV mount is advertised for a Samsung, it really is a universal mount. I bought it for my 58 inch Panasonic plasma TV that weighs 102 lbs. I had a lot of trouble finding a mount that I thought could handle the weight of this TV and still have the tilt, swivel and articulating features I was looking for. I was a bit skeptical having never seen the mount in person, but I thought I'd give it a shot.
The first impression of this was when my wife called me at work to tell me it was delivered. FedEx left it on the front porch and she could not pick it up and bring it inside. It is incredibly heavy....and sturdy. Once I mounted this to the wall and hung the TV on it, the mount didn't sag, bend, or dip at all. It really held the 102 lbs. without any trouble. It can be moved to any position I want....tilt to reduce overhead lighting glare, or swivel to eliminate reflections from the wall of windows.
The only modification I made to the mount was to drill two additional hole for mounting. This is supposed to mount to the wall with four lag bolts. I was a bit nervous about using only four bolts, so I drilled two more holes in the backplate so I could use six (three bolts in each of the two wall studs). I am now 100% confident that this will hold up long past the TV.
After looking at a lot of options in all configurations and prices, I am absolutely convinced that this is not only the best TV mount for the money but the best TV mount on the market, especially if you are looking for full motion, strength, style and value.

I am one of those "types" that researches everything and tries to get the best product for the best price. After too many hours lost that I will never get back, I ordered this mount. It was economically priced and had great reviews. It went up easily. It is heavy and will take two people to put up. I love that it has a level built in to help triple check it. We have a 55" Vizio that weighs about 72 lbs. I have absolutely no fear of this coming down. Stop looking! This is it!

Built well and shipped fast. What more can you ask for, I had no problem mounting my tv to it and the swivel function works great. It was also very easy to level. It has a built in level on the plate that screws into the wall.

A wall mount of this sturdiness costs $200 or more at Best Buy or even Costco. The mount was very solid steel. It was heavy but not so heavy that I had any difficulty mounting it on the wall by myself. It comes with 6 lag screws to attach to the wall but you would have difficulty using more than 4 of them on a standard 16" stud wall. The maximum horizontal separation for the lag screws is about 19 inches. 4 screws into studs were more than sufficient, however, This is definitely not an item you would want to try attaching to drywall with anchors. The item consists of two plates joined by two articulating arms. You attach the unit to the wall, attach two vertical hangers to the back of the television, and hang the tv on the outer and larger of the two plates. The kit included a variety of machine screws, washers and spacers to attach the hangers to different models, but the hardware wasn't sufficient in my case to attach the hangers to a 55 inch Samsung. The short bolts were too short and the long bolts were slightly too long, even with the spacers included. However, I substituted a couple of thicker washers for the one in the kit on each screw and it worked fine. The diagrams in the directions weren't very finely detailed, but the installation is intuitive and hard to screw up. Be sure to look at the arrow on the wall unit when attaching it to see which end goes up. All in all it's a great bargain, pretty easy to install, and has lots of flexibility in adjusting the position. Also, although I don't have any experience with the cheaper single plate models, comments indicate that it's time consuming to plug and unplug cables with them while with this model it could not be simpler.

I have standard 16" stud spacing, and I wanted to mount a 42" TV in a pretty tight area in which the studs were as off-center as they could possibly be. I did a lot of research and determined that this unit seemed to be the one for me. I got lucky and was right. I've mounted TVs to walls in the past and this is by far the best mount I've ever used. Below are the reasons I say this...

FLEXIBILITY: The unit has plenty of mount holes, so can be mounted off-center with relative ease. For additional compensation for off-center studs, it's incredibly easy to just slide the TV to one side of the TV mount piece. I've had an 80 lb TV on it for over a month now and there hasn't been any tendency for the off-center placement of the TV on the mount to cause any tilting or swinging. It's as solid as a rock. Also, you'll want to use the built-in level to make sure that the unit is mounted as close to level as possible. That said, my unit is NOT mounted perfectly level (it's maybe 1-2 millimeters off), but you can adjust the TV position to compensate. One reviewer said that this caused the unit to swing, but I'm not sure how that could be happening because I have an off-center wall mount, an off-center TV mount, a 1-2MM rotated TV mount, all with an 80lb TV. Maybe he used WD-40 or lubricated the arms or something? For me, there's been no tendency whatsoever for the unit to not go exactly where you want it and stay there.

DESIGN/FLATNESS: The design of the unit allows the TV to be pressed more snugly against the wall than any other full-motion wall mount I've ever seen. This is even more true if you have a TV with a flat back surface rather than a curved surface.
