I have a 2007 Honda Fit. This mount would not fit either of the center vents without modification of the mount (yay, Dremel).

The clips require that there be a certain vertical distance between the vent louvers (the ones that go up and down, to which you are clipping the mount). Otherwise, you will wind up bending the louvers and putting the plastic under strain. I had to cut the release mechanisms off each clip so that they would fit through the tiny space between my car's vent louvers.

The center distance between the clips is not far enough apart for my car. My vent has an enormous rectangular direction adjuster (the knob that angles the vent right/left) dead center on the vent. The clips on this mount were not widely spaced enough to go around it. So I have one clip to the left of the direction adjuster and one clip sitting awkwardly on top of it. This made the mount not quite level.

I had to put the mount on and take it off several times, cutting and filing away bits of the clips, so that it would fit. This left me with some scratch damage on my vent. They say "no tools", but that's for the installation. I found it hard to remove the clips without having three hands and two tools. The damage is concealed by the mount for now.

There are NO instructions. At least none came with the one I ordered. That said, this product is still way better than the suction cup mount that came with my GPS.

The service of the seller was great! Very fast shipping! But unfortunately this item does not work properly on my 2001 Volvo S40. The clips are not strong enough to grip the vent louvers, therefore, the weight of the GPS unit pulls the mount forward and it eventually falls off, especially while driving.

This little vent mount has been working great for me. Now, make sure you have a car with horizontal air vent slats. Otherwise, I'm not so sure it can be adjusted for you.

But this keeps my Maestro 4250 at eye level and supports it quite well. I've been very happy with it.

The gadget definitely did what I wanted it to do, namely got my Magellan off the dashboard
That said - it is a little cumbersome and ackward to use. The clips dont quite function well and its hard to mound the actual unit
In addition - since the unit mounts to the A/C vent - the cold air is constantly blowing onto the back (although it could be a good thing - cooling it down)

love how this works. I don't like the rings the other one leaves on the window plus it is easy to take down and put up.

It it flimsy, bad quality and simply a bad investment. Try to buy some other holding method because with this one, you can't enter anything in your GPS as it swivels even when you don't want it to. Can't tighten it enough for it to be usable. slides along the air-vents, and damages them.

I didn't like the idea of the "permanent" mount of the Magellan GPS provided with the unit. I purchased this to allow me to lower the unit to a point where I can see it easier. When I received the mount, I couldn't figure out how to get it to mount in the vents on my Dodge products. I placed it on the middle vent near the bottom so that the lower stabilizer arm stuck downward onto the area below the vent. Then I turned the two hangers so that they faced inward and hooked them over the back portion of the vent. It was not easy to do, but it works. The option to use the beanbag type did not appeal to me because they mount on top of the dash, which is illegal in some states and too far away for me to see or reach it. On the vent, my spouse can turn it to her side and enter addresses etc. as we go.

This is a great idea (in theory), but it's cheaply made and the plastic isn't strong enough to do the job. It doesn't work on all vents, and it breaks too easily. I stopped using it and bought one of the weighted dashboard pads for my GPS instead - a big improvement.
