We are doing some trip planning for next summer's big road trip, and this alphabet book of South Dakota is simply beautiful. The illustrations are eye-catching, and seeing pictures of the Corn Palace in Mitchell and the flaming fountain in Pierre and Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park - all of those are whetting our appetites.
The sections of text that accompany the pages are informative. The little alphabet poems are just so-so - forced meter, kind of dopey... but get the book anyway. |
